Years ago this company went bankrupt and had to close down many locations. There are only a few that remain open and during certain holidays, they do very well. I am so happy that there is a store not too far away. Love the pixies; heart shaped box for now and the square box is tucked away in the freezer for another time. Yes, they freeze well. I had a good experience here at Fannie May, although they were sold out of a lot and especially my favorite, Pixies due to the holidays‼ I settled on another options. Cheryl waited on me and I settled on other options. There's no question that Fannie May is classically delicious. The service could've been better for example they were people that left once they found out what they didn't have, Cheryl could've just made other recommendations! Like I did for myself. I even left to go to Jewel to pick up myself some Pixies and asked if she could wrap them she was quick to tell me that wasn't allowed which was fine as well as the rules‼ No problem, I asked if I could pay for the service and that was a no as well. However, I said how about I purchase something else in store and then I could get a Fannie May shopping bag?! Well, I had to figure all that out on my own. I will say the store was clean. The World According to Noelle Allergic Girl's Guide to Life December 2009 we spent the Christmas Holidays in Chicago. When I saw the Fannie May Kitchen Fresh Candy Shop my eyes got bigger and I giggled with a fit of laughter when we made our stop at this sweet shop! Fannie May candy shops are not found in California. Growing up I would see Fannie May sweet confections in Hallmark Stores. The shop is set up similar to See's Candies. We stopped into the shop a couple of days after Christmas only to notice they had a huge sale on all the holiday candies (note: See's Candies never does this type of sale). Service was friendly and fast. There are certain FM chocolates that are my favorites- for example the Trinadad chocolate confections which are a white chocolate outside containing a chocolate/coconut filling. Our purchase included a few Trinadad chocolates and sugar free peanut candies for my grandma. They have a good selection of sugar free candies. It is Valentines Day, The Clerk was very helpful in getting us a discount as well as wrapping the boxes we needed to give as gifts. The discount made a big difference in the total cost and we wouldn't have known about the discount if we did not walk in. read more

The Fannie May on 95th and Ridgeland in Oak Lawn/Chicago Ridge area is great. I received a greeting as soon as I walked in, awesome customer service going above and beyond to help me out with payment over the phone from my parents who live out of State. Very good job ladies keep it up!! read more

Such a treat to be able to bring my kids into a candy shop that I used to come to when I was younger. I saw the same excitement on their faces that I used to get coming here. Who can blame a kid for being excited in a store full of CHOCOLATE?! I was excited myself! The trinidads are my absolute favorite. There is something magical about dark chocolate and coconut. The mint meltaways are a close second. The kids opted for basic milk chocolate, but they were happy customers...especially since they got it in lollipop form. They thought the idea of a chocolate lollipop was so cool. This place is always a good option when thinking about gifts for my mom too. As much as she says that I shouldn't have because she needs to watch her waistline, I can see her excitement. There is never a piece of chocolate that goes to waste when you get it from here. What a SHAME!!! This is not the Product It once was!!! there are no flavors, what used to be rich, creamy, Buttery, Chocolates & fillings are now Just tinted sugery, waxy, flavorless Crap (may not even be real chocolate) I have enjoyed this Product for more than 40 years, it was a treat when my dad would bring home a big box for my Mom, Just the smell would excite me, now even that is gone!! I have seen this candy go from 4 or 5$ to 25$ per pound. and now they have a gourmet line thats even more!! SHAME ON YOU!!! The Truffels are just Glop!! the Almond Clusters are Chips!! this is not a high end product. I can get real flavor from SEE'S CANDIES and they stand behind their product. read more

My man wanted to take me to this store because he know how much I love the turtles and he wanted me to try the dixies also. When we pulled up the first thing we noticed was the cashier sitting on the counter (as the window is huge and you can see everything). We walk in (no greeting) and had to wait until the two ladies finished their conversation before they finally greeted us. So my boyfriend tells the 1 young lady that he wanted a pound of pixies (since they were out of Dixie's). She preceded to give us the already wrapped candy and my boyfriend asked if he could get a fresh pound with a different wraaping paper. She declined, and condescendingly asked if we are asking her to re wrap. My boyfriend said yes, she hesitated again, not doing what we hoped for. Finally, my boyfriend says never mind and told the young lady we'll take our business elsewhere. She then yells as we leave the store and says "You know its $30 to rewrap!" As if we didn't come in to purchase what we wanted. Despicable. read more
