I even drove to the Algonquin location 10+ years ago and it didn't last long there. This is the only IL location left. Nevertheless, I will make the drive every once in a while to Downer's Grove just for See's. I've never been disappointed in any of the chocolates, and they are always fresh. The associates are always very kind and typically offer a free sample. Some of the milk chocolates can be on the sweet side, so I really like the dark chocolate options. The caramel varieties are very good - the butterchews are good and I especially like the scotchmallow, which is caramel and marshmallow. One of my all-time favorites is the butterscotch square. It's a very sweet brown sugar and vanilla forward soft center. It's reminiscent of cookie dough before you mix in the flour.. so ultra sweet and sugary, but in the best way. Some of my other top favorites are the rum nougat, beverly, mayfair, maple walnut, vanilla nut cream - basically any of the creams or nougats. I haven't tasted one that I didn't like. The lollipops are also delicious - as a coffee lover, I love the cafe latte flavor, and the chocolate ones are also deliciously rich for a hard candy. All of the flavors are good so the assortment is really nice too. If you like fudgy with almonds, the almond royals are a delicious chewy treat. I also love the peanut brittle bars. They are crispy, sweet, buttery, rich and oh so good. They are quite expensive, but for a once in a while treat, it is worth it. Any of their products make for a very nice gift for someone. I just wish they had more locations.

Scott was so incredibly friendly, enthusiastic and the perfect person to be dealing with customers. You could really tell that he loves and cares about his job. It's not often that you find someone in retail with that kind of infectious enthusiasm and charming personality. Fanny May is very lucky to have an employee like him representing the company. You can really tell Scott loves his job as well as dealing with the public. He's certainly in the right profession. He made our visit very enjoyable (and delicious!).

They also have some baked goods and trinkets as well as cute jars for the bark. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They offered samples of the bark as well as the process for making it. They also packaged everything up in cute jars and a bag with a stamp that has the shop's name. I was able to try the toffee bark and the peanut butter bark. All I can say is WOWWW. The bark was so savory and sweet. Rich and decadent. Just wonderful. I also had my family partake and they loved it as well. All in all, I was so impressed and fell in love with this place. The tap payment didn't work, and the option to insert the card didn't work either. We ended up having to give our card number to the employee so she could process the payment manually. Because of that, I'd recommend being prepared and bringing cash. Now that I got that out of the way, the owner is so so friendly. We had a Turkish coffee while deciding on which Turkish delights we would have. All of them were really good and I can't wait to go back for more. I thought the box would last us a week but it was barely half full by the time we made it home!
