They thankfully have disposable flip flops, which I was grateful for since my daughter had left her sandals at home. Made an appointment with lily today. My nails fell apart just two days after my gel manicure last time. All the gel peeled off. Never had that happen. (It was with someone I haven't seen there and didn't seem experienced) today I got powder and am very happy with my results. Lily was meticulous on the shape and asked me if I like it. She understood my requests, shows experience and knowledge and is friendly! She also gave a great massage! Down a star today :( took my cousin there for a girls day. Her nails the girl forgot the top coat. My cousin didn't want a massage included but should have got some conditioning wrap or something in place of it. For me. My nails were crooked. The girl I got took twice as long and seemed new. I actually had to file my own nails to make them even. My massage was also not really a massage. It was more just putting lotion on. Sad. I wish i could give less stars.... I used to come here all the time for a waxing and manicure and never really had any major problems, since then I found someone who does nails out of her home and haven't gone anywhere really for a wax but figured why not treat myself and get a waxing.... I made an appointment which they put in the book wrong to start. I wanted eyebrows and full leg and they had it in for just the brows (not the problem) I went in the room and was told to tell the woman if the was was too hot. The whole process seemed rushed, i told her twice it was too hot and just gave up after that as well as the fact that I left with huge patches of hair still on my legs as well as huge areas of wax left all over my legs. I went home to find bruising all over my legs from the woman pushing so hard as well as the was being so hot. I called to complain and was initially told if i come back they can refund me or give me a gift card, to where i told them i live far and would like the refund done over the phone. Got a call back a few minutes later to be told the only thing they can do i give me a gift-card and put it aside for me..... what is a gift card going to do if i don't come here anymore nothing? She again told she would call me back so I again over 30 minutes for a call back for them to tell me a giftcard is the most they can do and that they could not have any supervisor call me to discuss what was going on. Mind you not once did anyone apologize in any way.... About 6 hours later my legs were covered in bruises that stung when even a blanket touched them, burns on my legs from the wax being to hot as well as burns around my eyebrows. read more

WARTS!!!!!!! I have been going for services for years to this location and this will be the very last time. I received a manicure and pedicure from a technician who will remain nameless because I do not wish to publicly embarrass her. While receiving my service she noticed I gained weight during the quarantine and did not stop to think before saying that I gained a tremendous amount of weight. I thought to myself "I'm paying to be here to be provided a service and I'm being insulted". I tried to overlook it thinking perhaps she mis spoke and did not communicate what she was trying to say. I then moved over to receive my manicure and mid service I noticed a growth on her index finger. Taking notice to this I then decided I was uncomfortable and due to NYS board of cosmetology/Appearance enhancement regulations to operator shall perform a service while he or she has a highly contagious infection. I then spoke up and said "what is that on your finger? That appears to be a wart and you should not be performing services until you have had treatment and or should be wearing gloves until the infection has cleared. The operator curled her finger under her hand so I could not see the wart. The service came to an abrupt ending and I was left shocked and disgusted. It has been several months and I began noticing a growth on my finger and dismissed it as a callus from my wedding band until I took a closer look under a light. Turns out it was a wart and I had to go to my dermatologist to have curettage (cut off) with liquid nitrogen treatment to have the wart that I caught from this operator removed and treated twice. I hope you find this information useful and that the operator has finally resolved her highly contagious viral warts treated and is no longer passing them on to patrons. Long story short- it's a great salon with friendly staff! Def check it out I saw this salon on Yelp a couple of times, but I never really tried it out. I went in for a powder color and extensions along with a pedicure. Dana did my pedicure and she was wonderful! We were engaging in a conversation the entire time, which was refreshing because majority of the salons I've been to, the technicians talk amongst themselves. Dana took her time with my pedicure, instead of rushing, and did a great job on my nails! May was my technician for my powder color extensions. Initially I wasn't sure if I would be happy with my nails because I saw one was glued on crooked and I was afraid to say anything; when I pointed it out to May she happily changed the extension, along with three others. While doing my nails, she explained to me what she was exactly doing which was great! The salon closes at 6, but May was there until 6:30 making sure my nails were exactly how I wanted, which I appreciate so much!! As soon as I walked in I saw that the salon reimbursed for parking! With parking being a bit tricky in the area and a lot of it being metered I thought that was spectacular! Going on a Friday late morning I didn't expect much of a wait and there wasn't at all but I was surprised to see how many people were in the salon. I also was surprised at how reasonable the prices were. For such a nice place I thought it would be a bit pricier, but a regular pedicure and gel manicure was $50 which I consider average. My nail technician was great and paid attention to detail even given me a third coat on my nail color because it was so light. They also had a great variety of colors and services. And a good amount of pedicure chairs and nail stations where they can accommodate a decent amount of people. This place was also very clean. Tools came straight from plastic sterile bags and a woman was constantly going around making sure everything was straightened up. I would definitely go back and try them again. read more

Usually, I am very picky when it comes to nail jobs but I actually fell in love with this job! Although I was expressing concerns with my nail shape being uneven, May was so kind and took her time with my nails and made sure I liked the shape of every nail before proceeding. The appearance of this salon at first glance is clean, tranquil, a little bit boujee like you're really about to get pampered but that isn't the entirety of it. I went in today in hopes of finding a new nail salon since I'm in to process of moving but was sadly mistaken. The service was so rushed and not even close to average customer service... it was honestly less than. The lady I had, to her credit, was honest when she said she couldn't do my initial design request. This I can understand. (i attached a photo) So I asked for a three regular solid nails and two french nails... simple, right? Nope. She didn't clean the cuticle or shape them, the nails are uneven lengths on both hands, there's bubbling and uneven color coat, left over nail polish from my previous set, and she was so passive aggressive whenever asked if she could fix her mistakes. I gave up half way because honestly her issues are not my problem. She needs to sort out why shes so unhappy with doing her job and leave that at home. She didn't talk to me the entire session about what I wanted aside from the initial, "what color/shape/length?" at the beginning. All in all, will not return and would not recommend to anyone who cares about how they spend their hard earned money and time. You don't always get what you give in this situation. I typically tip my girls at my old salon so well (upwards of $20+) because I appreciate what they do and know how important tips can be. Today I almost didn't tip at all, she got $5 because I felt bad. I was made to feel bad for her bad customer service and general nail salon skills. Hopefully this will never happen again. read more

So I've been slacking on my Yelpin' as of late...partially because I've been moving! So now that I'm relatively new to the neighborhood of Farmingdale, I turned to my yelp community to help me find a place to go to for my nails. And this place came up and had pretty good reviews. I parked my car right in front and didn't know where I was supposed to pay for parking, the friendly woman at the door explained where to pay and also told me they would validate the parking, without me even asking. Even though it's just a dollar to park for an hour, it's the principle of them doing that. They strive to make the experience as pleasant and stress free as possible. So thank you for that. The next thing that caught my eye was the interior. It was so clean, beautifully decorated, and very spacious. I was really digging their interior! The windows all along the front let in ambient light, and the light music playing in the background really makes you feel calm. I got a green tea spa pedicure, and it was just what I needed. My nail tech rubbed my tired legs and feet down with all these exotic lotions, and scrubs, then wrapped my legs with hot towels and gave me a very soothing massage. Don't know how I missed this place! It's been across my grandmas house that I used to commute from for 3 years and today was my first time going in. Although I'm no longer local to the area, I had time to kill and needed to get my nails done so I figured I'd give it a try. They were able to squeeze me in right away on a Saturday. It is sooo nice in here. Much nicer than a lot of the more expensive salons i find in the city. I only got a manicure but it was really relaxing with the background music. The girl I had, Tiffany looked really young but she did a great job. I had cut the top half of my nail off on accident while chopping vegetables and I was nervous a tech would just rush through it and file on the skin and not listen to me asking to go slow with that and not cut it. She was really good and was able to take her time to buff what was remaining of the nail out so although it's super short it still blends with the others. She even went back and added extra cuticle oil on to the exposed raw skin for that nail. They have an extensive selection for gel colors and are upfront about the varying costs. I feel so bad giving a harsh review, but after the ton of great reviews I've seen I feel obligated to share my experience wasn't up to par. I asked if they could do a design on my nails and was told no designs. So I picked a pretty blue color instead. Then was given to another person, Lily, and was told she could do designs. I didn't want to make her feel bad at the time so I didn't say anything but looking it the design this past week has me realizing it's definitely subpar. So I've been scoping out the town of Farmingdale since I'm planning to move..& I found the best mani/pedi place in town. As soon as you walk in, instant ahhhhhhhh...complete zen...I noticed that it was very clean & everything was sterile (insert applause). Richard did my manicure, awesome job (he was meticulous) relaxing massage to finish the job..regular mani is $12 and pedi is $25. They have a great selection of colors, an ATM inside (very helpful). They also offer spa services (facials & massage). They have metered street parking, as well as parking in the lot across the street. There is no charge for parking in the lot across the street on weekends. There are cute little shops around town, if you want to take stroll. I initially chose Fantastic Day Spa because we literally lived upstairs at the time and the location was too convenient to pass on. We've since moved away but I still make the drive back. Partly because I'm a creature of habit and because they're super nice. I also like that the place is relatively new still and doesn't have that old nail salon with overpowering chemical smells. There are times where I have been asked to return at a later time for a walk-in so I would say if you really have your heart set on a particular time, etc. make the appointment. There's metered street parking right by them that accepts card and cash. It's up to 2 hours for $2 and Fantastic Day Spa will refund you the parking cost if you bring proof of it. I believe the nearby LIRR parking lot is free on the weekend as well. There's also a village parking lot that's free if you don't mind a short walk. That one's on S Front St closer to Main St. As for nail technicians, I haven't seen Richard in awhile but he was always good. Gel manicures with Jessie last over two weeks easily for me and I'm rough on my hands. She also does a great foot massage and back massage. I've brought my five year old daughter in to get her polish done as a treat several times. They're always very gentle with her, just file down her nails a little, then apply polish. They charge it as a polish change, which is a very affordable, fun treat for a little girl in my opinion. I've gotten two prenatal massages as well. They don't have the specialized massage table that has the cutout for the belly; however, the massage therapist was always very sweet and meticulous in making sure I was positioned properly and comfortably with pillows. I have come to this place a few times for mani-pedis & they do a decent job. Their service and attention to detail is impeccable. They are super nice there & go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. I went in on a Saturday evening to get a massage and mani-pedi for my birthday. I saw on their website that they offer a $20 discount for a massage or facial and a free mani or pedi during your birthday month. I called to make a same day appointment & they were able to accommodate me.. and best of all, they were true to their word. I booked a 1 hour deep tissue massage and a mani-pedi. The massage was really great, she really worked through the knots in my shoulders and back. The place is super clean & relaxing and is much bigger than I realized with several massage rooms in the back. My deep tissue massage was $95 minus the $20 discount so $75. For the mani-pedi, you get to choose the scent of lotions/scrubs you want. Every pedicure chair has a back massager, which is typical for most places now. This place opened in the last year so their chairs are still in excellent shape. They always put a plastic bag in the pedicure tub so there's no cross contamination from the last person. They also use a new scrubber every time for your feet. Every pedi includes a 5 minute foot massage. I find that the men are better at this maybe because they're able to use more pressure. Every mani includes a quick hand massage and back massage. Because it is my birthday month, they discounted the price of the pedi. I thought for sure they would discount the price of the mani since it is cheaper, but they gave me the better discount so I only paid for the mani. As far as nail salons go, they are a little more expensive than others, but I don't mind paying a little bit extra for the quality of their customer service. read more
