I was pleasantly surprised at what great service and experience this was! In the area I'm always looking around for a place that has kind techs and reasonable prices for my children's nails. As they are so young, and it is an occasional treat for them, I of course would rather not spend Adult prices on their nails! So today I randomly decided to treat them to their nails and used yelp to search. I was happy to see that fantastic nails had their own kids menu so I booked an appointment and also saw that their wax prices were pretty decent. So I booked myself an appointment as well and it was all pretty easy through their site online. When we arrived, I was surprised to see how clean and organized everything was. The three of us were taken right away, and I felt the technicians were very kind to my kids. I've been to this place twice for a mani-pedi. The first time, the nail tech cut my toe. I gave her the benefit of the doubt that things happen. I returned for a second visit with my sister. We got a mani-pedi. They were really pushy with trying to up sell all sorts of things to us. That was annoying. That's an easy no for me as I'm firm on what I want. My sister and I both left with two bleeding toes. Two days later, our toes still hurt. This used to be my go-to nail place but I stopped going for a few reasons: - Long wait times: if there are others in the waiting area, when you walk in there's often little/no acknowledgment and no information as to how long you'll wait. I walked in once with two people ahead of me and waited an hour before I was in someone's chair. I understand times may be busy, but if they know it will be more than a 15-20 minute wait, they should advise the customer of how long they could be waiting - CUTICLES: I should've started with this. There was probably only one time I went that I didn't leave with bloodied cuticles. One of the ladies (who generally is the first to greet people) told me my cuticles were too thin (which I've never heard before.) the reason I choose not to return to this salon is that on my last visit after explicitly asking this woman to push vs cut my cuticles (to avoid the pain/blood), she proceeded to cut them and again caused so much pain. Pros of this salon are that they have a wide variety of OPI colors and their gel manicures seem to last awhile. Also for gel removal they buff by hand vs the machine which I think affects the integrity of nails read more

Not good. Was passed around several techs. She states, my appointment just showed up. Well don't take me, if you know you have someone coming soon. The old polish was not removed from my nails, the manicure was rushed and a few other patrons were frustrated about missed appointments times, it seemed so stressful in there on a Thursday at 2pm. I came to decompress, that was not the case! Nothing about it was relaxing. I cant imagine when busy. I paid $50 for chrome that started to chip hours later. No swatches for chrome , she gave me a few containers and asked me to pick, how am i supposed to tell what it will look like? Of course i settled for a color i do not like, for that reason. Pedicure was mediocre and rushed as well. Convenient but not worth it, will continue to drive the distance for quality service elsewhere. It was truly a very bizarre experience. Treat your new customers just as well as your loyal ones, so they can too became loyal one day. Do not discourage new clientele, as you wont be able to build any new ones. DO NOT GO HERE. I have been going here for about a year and it's very hit or miss with cleanliness and service, but they have always been nice so I keep going back. Today I took my brother and we both ordered the same services (mani/pedi) but he got the usual service and I got the fast-forwarded version- no wax, no massage, no scrub. I had Water as my technician. She was very careful and meticulous, which I appreciated. I would see her again. My pedicure was pretty good. $28 and they used some hot wax on the feet which did leave my feet feeling soft. They charge $5 extra to use the callous remover though which I thought was kind of a dumb upsell and I didn't do it. But as a result I still have a little remnant of a callous on my heel. Now that I'm home I realize I have one ruined toenail. Must have happened when I was getting the mani. I'm going to go back tomorrow and have them fix it. I'll update this review if there's any issue with that. I also tried SNS powder nails for the first time. They are $45. This other employee was telling me that they last a long time, a friend of mine had just mentioned she loved them... so this employee helped me pick out colors. (Including a regular one for my toes to compliment.) turns out the color was waaaaay darker when the shiny part is put on. So my toes and hands are not the cute matchup I'd hoped for, but I still like the colors. I'd also asked this other employee about the thickness of SNS because that's one of my problems with gel-- sometimes people put it SO THICK and I just don't like the look. The finished product is still pretty thick. Honestly, looks no different from gel and took a hell of a lot longer to do!! I'm going to update this review to see how long it lasts. If it outlasts gel, maybe this is a good deal. Edit: so I will never go here for another manicure. I had gone back and she buffed and put another coat on 2 of the nails that were messing up. But just a few days later, on Sunday the 13th, the nails just started peeling off and since I wasn't home to soak them, they caught and two actually peeled off and really damaged my nail. I passed Fantastic nails while driving to The Face Shop. So I figured I'd drop by afterwards to get my nails done for my upcoming trip to Italy in 3 days. WORSE DECISION EVER. The wait was long(almost an hour) but that was understandable since I didn't have an appointment. I was actually reassured that the service would be "fantastic" because some customers would say "see you next week" while they were leaving. The initial customer service was excellent. They kept updating me on when the technician will be able to get to me. However that service ended once I sat in his chair. It was the only male technician there who was doing my nails (not sure of his name). And it really seemed like he didn't want to be there. He seemed to be in a rush but I somehow still spent 2 HOURS in his chair! -- The story -- The first thing I noticed was that he didn't soak my hands to be able to trim my cuticles. Instead, he used this harsh drilling/buffing machine that, when not handled with care, was very painful in my cuticles! Let me tell you it was painful! Sometimes I had to yank my hand away. Technicians have used this device on my hands before but not with such harshness. After he was done, my cuticles were still visible, and quite uneven. This was a bad sign because everyone knows trimmed cuticles are key to your nails looking neat. The other bad sign was when he nearly clipped off the tip of a few of my fingers with the finger nail clipper! I wish I was exaggerating. He would place the clipper so far up on my nail that he'd get a bit of skin in the clipper as well. I had to yank my hand back a couple of times for that too. Did I mention this entire experience took 2+ hours? I asked for simple gel stiletto nails. And I have no complaints on the shape or his application of the gel. My biggest complaint, aside from the time it took and the rough handling of my hands, is his application of the polish. He applied the first coat of polish very quickly and sloppily leaving an uneven surface of polish. He then attempted to paint the 2nd coat over the bumpy surface of the first coat. After about 30 minutes of applying the polish and drying it under the uv Rays he saw that my nails looked like crap and they they were uneven so he used nail polish remover to clean the nails off and he also pulled out his beloved drilling/ buffing machine to attempt to clean up my cuticles... The cuticles he should've done correctly before even applying the acrylic gel to my nails. Now, as a result, my nails look like they've grown out for a week because of the gap between the acrylic and my cuticles. He repeated the nail polish application process and AGAIN applied the coat sloppily and quickly! However the polish dried fast this time so he took his beloved drilling/buffing machine to remove the paint from my nail since the bail polish remover wasn't cutting it. That was TWICE that he had to remove the bad polish job that he did. (I'll leave out that he had to do my thumbs over making that 3 times) I was blown away, and have never had this happen to me before. I also had to ask him to fill in spots he had missed. And I STILL had to pay $55 for this mess of a job!!!! This horror story could go on but I'll skip to the end where I didn't leave a tip and one of the ladies came to the cash register to inspect my nails while speaking to my technician in their own language. Of course I didn't know what they were saying but it sounded like she was critiquing him. She then asked if I had to go to prom that night.. I told her no. And she left it at that. I should've demanded that I get a reduced price but I'm a very non confrontational person and I was exhausted and drained with the 3hr visit and the pain. (My cuticles burn whenever I wash my hands with soap). I know others have had positive expect was here and they have recurring customers but they weren't even willing to give me a discount after seeing the horrible job he did. First off, when we walked in the door the lady tried to sell us "the special pedicure". The damn thing was $75!!!! Wth! Not to mention they only do the parrafin wax on your heels! WHO THE HELL JUST WAXES HEELS????? The heel wax was accompanied with hot towels, no correction; SCOLDING HOT TOWELS!!!! There's no overstatement when it comes to the name of this salon. Every time I've ventured to this spot, even in the middle of a weekday, it's always bustling. There is a flat screen television, tuned to the news, which is a nice addition to the usual salon decor. The pedicure chairs are comfortable and have a wide range of massage options (um, including your tush!). There are even pedicure chairs for children, resembling butterflies. But, the best thing about this spot is the price. For $25, I got a FANTASTIC paraffin pedicure. Are you kidding me?! As you get closer to the city, something like that would easily go for $50+. NB: There is a Five Guys in this shopping center. So, my go-to is a pedicure and then a burger. That is about as good as it gets. read more
