First time I went there I had Tracy to do my pedicure and a full set of acrylic nails. She did amazing and was super friendly. Second time Tracy was busy so I had Jen. She did good. After two days one of the nails was already lose, so I went in there and wanted it fixed. Whoever that was today (should've asked for the name but she didn't even answer me when I asked stuff or gave her compliments and said how much I appreciated it) treated me like I was such an inconvenience. She was extremely rough using the nail file hurting the skin on my nail bed. She mumbled stuff under her breath in a language I don't understand (I looked around to make sure she didn't talk to somebody else- I promise she didnt) and her whole body language showed that she wasn't happy I dropped spontaneously in. Without this experience I would have gave 5 stars, but this behavior is not ok. I would always recommend Tracy. Such a good soul! The nail salon itself is very clean and the interior brandnew. They have a lot of nail colors to choose from!

I love this salon! I have been coming here every two weeks for the past 7+ months and I love them. I usually get Danny or Flora and they always do an incredible job. UPDATE: all of my nails have chips in them, three days later. Unbelievable. I'm upset with my experience here. It was my first time trying this salon. The specialist spent 2 hours doing my fill, which usually takes 45 min elsewhere. The nail shape was a struggle for her to figure out. After one day, two of my nails chipped with gel polish. I called asking if they would fix it and they said to come any time. I drove over to the salon and they said "come back in 30 min.. actually, come back in 45 min." I came back and waited another 20 min before someone helped me. One of the fixed nails is starting to chip again. One of the original nails has chipped. Ridiculous. Upset at how much I spent for this.

I usually go all the way to Woodbridge to get my nails done, but I decided to look up salons in my area because I didn't want to make the drive and came across this nail salon. They had great reviews so I gave them a shot. I went on a Monday morning for a full set and no one was in there ( big win). I showed Cathy a picture of what I wanted and she executed. She works quickly and I was skeptical about that because I thought it might be a rush job, but she's been doing nails a long time and knew what she was doing. I will def return here and try their other services

Everyone is super nice and friendly. Kim is wonderful! I finally let her do a design, and it came out super cute. Just make sure you book an appointment. I would not recommend walk-ins because they are always busy.

Love this salon, it is very clean and spacious. The staff are so kind too, they make sure you are happy every step of the way. Flora and Jeny do such a great job! They understand what you want even if you don't know the nail lingo! You always get a nice hand massage when you are done. They do brows here too, have not done that yet. Pedicures are very nice and the massage chairs are great. My husband had his first pedi and it looked great, they shape nails and massage legs. I am very satisfied with the service, the staff and the facility. Great experience every time!

Came here for a mani and pedi on a whim and was seated right away. The customer service was friendly and personable. The mani/pedi reminded me of how salons used to be.. where the focus was really on the full experience, not just checking off the basics. There was a calm attention to detail that made the whole experience feel relax... like everything was included without having to ask. It brought back that feeling of when salons took real pride in what they do. Would've been even better if they included food and drinks too. Ask for Tiffany. read more

Got a gel pedicure and Flora was absolutely wonderful. The place was clean and a good size. I brought my baby and everyone was so sweet with her. My nails look great and Flora even put neosporin on some bug bites I had on my feet. Definitely my go to salon from now on read more

Very nice, thorough job. I have been here twice with two different nail techs and been happy both times. Just regular mani/pedi but they didn't rush it or make me feel like I wasn't worth their time because I wasn't going all out. Very nice! read more

The place is nice, very clean but I was very disappointed with my nails. They charge $35 per gel manicure which I'm fine with... is a good price. Cindy did my nails and it was bad. She started by just applying the polish and it was very patchy. I told her and she just put more gel to the point my nails where thick and hard. I told her I didn't wanted change of polish or fillings, I wanted a full manicure and I didn't get it, she was rushing the whole time and telling me to get my eyebrows done even tho I told her multiple times I didn't wanted. She did not clean my nails or remove the dead skin around, I literally just got gel on my nails, nothing else. Paying the $35 seemed to much for what I got. I read more

I love this nail salon! Everyone is very friendly and the shop is kept nice and clean. The massage chairs are really nice and they have a great color selection of polishes. I always go to Flora but I've used everyone in the shop and they are all great! I have really thin nails and have discovered the powder dip polish is perfect for my nails. Are nail salons are plentiful, but great salons are not. This is one of the great ones with a very kind, caring, professional staff members I highly recommend it. They took the time not only to do a professional job with the nails, but also to ensure the comfort of their customer in small ways like making sure that the person holding an infant had an open bottle of water rather than just putting a bottle of water on the table. I usually only get my pedicures here... those are amazing every time!!! I always ha e my go to for my nails because I'm super particular, but my go to is booked up til September so I tried Flora and she did exactly want, I'm a happy camper and I will return to her. When I want to be plain which is most of the time she can handle it and when I want bling she will come through! read more

I loved it there and loved the tech who did my pedicure. Unfortunately, she nicked my cuticles in two places which lead to an infection. I had to be on antibiotics for seven days. I have never had this happen before and maybe cutting the cuticles they need to be more careful (or avoid doing?). read more

after 1 weeks of GEL nails. I believe they didn't even use gel nail polish they just put regular on me and put it under the UV lights. VERY disappointed. AND they overcharged me- $100 for this!!!!! Terrible read more

The staff are nice, but I was really looking for a place that took clean and sanitary precautions. This was not that place. I didn't have any polish, just a mani/pedi. Cost was reasonable but not posted anywhere I could see. read more

A few weeks before they sold the business, I had decided I was never coming back, after going to them for almost a decade. I was a loyal customer who always booked one of the most expensive pedicures, yet the last three pedicures I had, they rushed through them. The last one I got in July was only 20 minutes long after my nail tech's next client came in early. People getting regular pedicures at the same time next to me were still going when I was finished. When I complained, I was told I was wrong by Tina for a complaining. I just want to be clear this was the third time it happened in several months -- I told her that -- and she dismissed it and loudly said I was wrong. Honestly I said I would never go back to them. But when I saw Ivy had changed hands, I came back with cautious optimism today. I am so glad I did. I booked the Ivy Special for $80 with Nina and it was wonderful. She worked on me for a full hour with strong and skillful hands. The service included a soak, massage, mask, hot stones, and then more massage. It was absolute bliss. I will hands down go back to the new Ivy's and will recommend you give them a shot. The salon itself is clean and professional. The pedicure chair tubs still have protective bag coverings that are switched out between clients, and all tools come sterilized in sealed bags. The care and attention to detail are clear. If you had written Ivy Nails off in the past, give them another try. The new owners have completely turned it around. Ask for Nina, she is fantastic.

It will take atleast 3-6 months for the nail damage to grow out. Posting a before and after picture for your reference. Update: it's the next day and my nail is already breaking and snagging thanks to the misuse of the e-file on my natural nails. This will be a long process to undo the damage that has been done.

N & J Nails is the rare exception. After visiting, you almost feel obligated to leave a 5-star review because they've earned it. For those who may not know, Tina and Ben haven't retired. They've simply moved on and created this wonderful salon. We weren't previous clients, but their reputation definitely preceded them. On a Saturday around 4:00 PM, my wife and I decided on a spur-of-the-moment manicure and pedicure date. Anyone who regularly visits nail salons knows that's usually a recipe for disappointment. Either the salon is fully booked, the wait is outrageous, or you end up with the technician nobody else wanted. Thankfully, luck was on our side. I went online and found only two appointment slots remaining. We selected our services, submitted the request, and within five minutes our appointment was confirmed. Shortly afterward, we received a phone call confirming everything and letting us know we could even arrive a little earlier if we'd like. Our appointment was scheduled for 5:15 PM. N & J Nails is located in Alexandria, just a few minutes from Potomac Yard and on the same block as Founding Farmers. Depending on traffic, the 9-mile drive from our home can take anywhere from 20 minutes to over an hour. Thankfully, we made it in just under 30 minutes. Parking was easy. There is both street parking and garage parking available. We chose street parking and paid $4 for two hours, but learned that garage parking can be validated. When we arrived, we were greeted by the same gentleman who had called to confirm our appointment. It wasn't the typical "you're the last appointment of the day, let's get this over with" greeting. It felt like they had genuinely been expecting us and were happy we were there. We were offered beverages and snacks, then settled into the massage chairs for our pedicures. My wife worked with Tina while I had Linda. After reviewing the menu and confirming our selections, they made a few recommendations and got started. My wife chose a spa manicure and spa pedicure with gel polish and builder gel to help strengthen and grow out her natural nails. My service included callus removal, nail trimming and shaping, cuticle care, orange slices, a sea salt and mint mud foot mask, relaxing massage treatments, oil lotion massage, and hot towels. The total before tip was approximately $250 for both of us. Before Linda began, I warned her that I'm extremely ticklish. I usually end up asking technicians to skip the foot massage because it's never enjoyable. Not this time. For the first time ever, I was actually able to enjoy a foot massage. Linda clearly knew exactly what she was doing. There were a couple brief moments during the callus removal that tickled a little, but compared to every other pedicure I've received, it was minimal. The scrub, water temperature, calf massage, foot massage, and overall technique were absolutely perfect. The finished pedicure was flawless. Smooth feet. Perfectly trimmed and shaped nails. No pain. No bleeding. No rushing. What impressed me most was her attention to detail. Even after I would have been completely satisfied, she continued checking, refining, and perfecting her work. She clearly takes pride in what she does. The manicure was equally impressive. Every nail and cuticle received the same level of care and precision. Nothing felt rushed. Everything looked clean, polished, and professional. The hand massage was fantastic as well. I actually started writing this review on Saturday but intentionally waited until Monday to finish it because I wanted to see how everything held up. Two days later? Still perfect. My wife wrote her own review specifically for Tina, but she was equally impressed. Both Tina and Linda were exceptional. Throughout the appointment we shared laughs, had great conversation, and by the end it felt less like visiting a business and more like spending time with people who genuinely care about their clients. Even Ben stopped by toward the end and joined the conversation. That's what makes N & J Nails special. The services were excellent. The salon was spotless. Throughout our visit, staff continuously cleaned and maintained the space. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and relaxing. Most importantly, every person there genuinely seemed to care about delivering the best experience possible. There were only three workers, which I understand, but it was still frustrating to wait that long with an appointment. The pedicure also felt rushed. Usually you get lotion and a little massage, but none of that was included. At that point I just wanted to get my nails done and leave. For my manicure, the technician used a portable UV lamp that made my nails burn. It was really uncomfortable, and he didn't seem concerned when I mentioned it. I got a French tip, and you could clearly see my nail beds through the polish. When I told him I wasn't happy with how it looked, he just said it was my natural nail instead of trying to fix it. The most disappointing part was the quality. I tipped, left, and in less than 24 hours my thumbnail had already chipped. That has never happened to me before not even when I do my own nails at home. I ended up going to a nail salon in South Carolina, and they immediately told me the nails weren't done well and that they wouldn't last. They also added a better nude base color so you couldn't see my nail beds anymore, which made a huge difference. That showed me that my nails could have been done correctly at Old Town Nail & Spa, but they simply weren't. They also told me more chipping was likely to happen. I paid a lot of money because I wanted my nails to look nice for a wedding that weekend, and instead I got poor-quality nails and disappointing customer service. Sadly, I won't be coming back.

I have fallen in love with this place. Though it doesn't look like much from the outside, when you walk in the ambience speaks for itself. I was recommended this place by a friend of mine and I am always so hesitant about nail places because I have thin nails that a very sensitive. The music and hospitality of all the employees is welcoming and relaxing. They are never super busy and their website is easy. If you are looking a specific person on there, it will tell you the day and time they are available. Flora has been my absolute favorite since I started coming here and now she is the only person I come to. If you ever need a reliable and accommodating place, come see them. read more
