I have been coming here for the past few years, but today will be the last time. I walked in to an empty salon for a deluxe pedicure. Tony, who is usually pleasant, was not friendly. I chalked it up to him maybe having a bad day and forgot about it. One other woman was working and she took the next pedicure that came in shortly after me. My pedicure was pretty bad overall: rough and fast. Part of my service included callous removal, which he forgot about. The service is listed on the menu as a 45 minute service -- I was on the chair for less than 30 minutes. It was like he couldn't wait to get me out of there fast enough, and I, in turn, couldn't wait to leave, either. I was loyal to this place for its convenience and otherwise good pedicures, but feel they on a downhill slide in both quality and cleanliness. read more

I picked this place on a whim because it was close to Target. There was only Tony and another woman working, so I waited for Tony to finish up with his pedicure before starting my acrylic manicure. He was friendly and the salon was clean. The manicure was fine, he was a little fast as some people have mentioned, but I appreciated that because I hate sitting still. I didn't take the speed personally. He did go hard on my cuticles though, and three of them did bleed, but he also was very open to trying a design I had in mind so I appreciated that. In the end, my nails turned out really well and they are really comfortable. I feel beautiful. I would go back but I would ask him not to clip my cuticles so much. Felt a bad vibe the second I walked in. I should've gone with my gut. The massage chair is horrible. I had to turn it off after a minute because it was so loud. Need a serious upgrade. They brought out an old, beat up train case of supplies, which were all just thrown in there and were clearly never cleaned. Horrible experience overall and I was absolutely baffled when I went to pay and saw that they were charging me $50. $50?!? I should have gone back to the place I'd been before. Could have had a much better experience for $15 cheaper. I don't have very high expectations and didn't think a basic pedicure could be so disappointing. Absolutely do not recommend. read more

I walked in on a weekday and was the only customer, so I was taken immediately. The spa is small but bright and clean. I opted for a natural manicure and there were dozens of OPI polishes to choose from on the wall. The technicians was very nice but also respected that I was happy to sit in silence and relax. I have extremely dry skin and brittle nails, but she was gentle and precise as she worked. Absolutely fantastic. One of the best manicures I've ever had. And the cheapest. Lily is amazing. After I was seated and wrapped to get my old manicure off, she offered me a bottle of water, and then gave me a shoulder and back massage which I needed so bad. She has the best hands. She made my cuticles look amazing!!! Lily is an amazing conversationalist, never made it feel awkward. She was so sweet. And so detailed! It did make the manicure take longer, so maybe don't go if you are in a time crunch, but definitely go back! It was worth it. My nails look better than they ever have. The hand massage at the end was finished with a hot towel-superb. A couple things to note-you should bring cash to tip, and credit cards can't be used on a transaction under $14. It was also hard to find-I almost gave up but I'm so glad I didn't. Apple Maps has it in the middle of the street near O'Reilly, but it is in the strip mall by Target, next to AT&T, across from Barnes and Noble. The two negatives I noticed: the tv played sports, which is just a pet peeve of mine, and I hardly noticed. Two, someone was cleaning the salon while I was there, like mopping and scrubbing the pedicure tubs, which I thought was strange because I was there two hours before it closed. Maybe they weren't expecting anyone else? These were just very minor annoyances, I still give it a five star. I have been going here for years, but my last visit completely turned me off. They usually take walkins but I like to call ahead to see if there's a wait. The man said no wait and scheduled me for the next hour. I show up and there is only one guy working and three women having their nails done in various stages. It was like watching musical chairs. I ended up sitting there waiting for 30 minutes past my appointment. I finally sit down and he wraps my gel in foil to be removed. This man for real takes a call on speaker and then casually gets up puts on his coat AND LEAVES for another thirty minutes. So here I am sitting here with prune fingers waiting for this man to come back and all these other women are here w me waiting. He then comes back and proceeds to give me the most painful, messy manicure. I should not have paid. Idk why I paid. I only stayed to kill time before meeting someone. I've been to Fantastique a few times over the last year or so. Every time I've visited I've had pretty decent service, up until my most recent visit. Yesterday I went in to have my nails dipped with Tony. We decided on an ombré French tip style. The final result was very uneven in color and not at all identical to the style I requested. Tony was accommodating and at his suggestion painted over my nails with gel polish. Within hours of leaving the salon, most of the gel polish had peeled off on its own. I called Fantastique and was instructed to come back today at 12:30. I arrived early for my appointment but was still not seen until 1:00. I originally asked for my nails to just be re dipped a solid color for fear of ending up in the same situation with gel polish. When Tony finally got to me, I asked if I would be able to have my nails re- dipped and still leave by 2:00( now that we were 30 minutes behind schedule). He got very ugly with me. Falsely told another client he was working on that I was late, told me it was my fault that the color I chose didn't stick, and complained that I was rushing him. At this point, he told me he had another appointment to get to and I would have to wait even longer. After being berated for the better part of 15 minutes, in front of other customers, I left in tears. My manicure was semi soaked off and he refused a refund. I truly wish zero stars was an option. This was by far the worst pedi and mani I've ever had in my life. They were not professional at all. The lady who did the pedi( I really don't know her name) seemed to be very new at this and didn't have enough experience. On he other hand the guy who did my hands his name is Tony, said he's been doing this for 17 years!! He didn't do a good job. The water he used for manicure was almost cold, he didn't use any products not even for softening cuticles,TWO of my my finger nails were not fined smoothly and were catching on my clothes! and when I got home I realized one of the nails was actually cracked and he painted it anyway. Another thing, his nails were VERY long, dirty and had black stuff underneath! Definitely not going there again. read more

Lilly gives me the best pedicures I have had in Richmond. It is a small shop so make an appointment or you may have to wait. We called a few places before settling on Fantastique because they offered the best price for $25 for a spa pedicure. We had a great experience - we called before-hand and the gentleman we spoke with said they could take us in about 30 minutes so we walked right in with no wait! The spa pedicure was great, the gentleman that took care of it trimmed and filed my nails, removed the calluses on my feet, and included a hot stone massage. The oil they use smells fantastic! Fantastique nails, not so fantastic, here's why. I went in there yesterday 12/06/17 @4:15pm to be exact, I was not greeted upon entry and not one person made eye contact with me to ask me what I wanted. After sitting for 20 minutes, two of the female nail techs finished working on their customer. They pretty much both ignored me like I invisible. Finally after 30 minutes of sitting, one of the female nails techs told the other female tech to ask me what I wanted. The way she approached me was so fake; she came up to me in my face with a fake smile on and said, " hi, how are you, what do you need, " I said a fill-in. She walked away and told the female tech that, " oh she want a fill-in and proceeded to sit down. " So they both started cleaning the store and counting money, and I am getting super pissed. They both put their coats on and went outside, one never came back and the other came back, sat in her chair and watched TV. She occasionally gave me eye contact, and when I looked at her she looked away. So, I got up and was going to leave. I picked their card up to make a complaint, and the guy said someone will be with you, I said no thanks, I will contact the BBB, and give you negative reviews because this shit is ridiculous. Obviously, they don't care about quality service, so don't waste your money here. This is why I only go to one place and don't branch out to different salons. I noticed this nail salon on the way out of Target and got a great pedicure and gel manicure. The women who work here are friendly and were very patient with me while I obsessed over what colors to choose for my mani and pedi. They have a large selection of colors for regular and gel polishes-too many for me to choose from, apparently! Plus it's very clean. And most importantly, their work is perfection. I love glitter polishes and sometimes I leave with my nails a little bumpy, but they managed to make my glitter polish super smooth. The prices are on par with other salons. When I arrived there was an entire wedding party of at least 8 getting manis & pedis (drinking wine - so it was obviously planned) . They didn't even acknowledge me when I came in. 20 minutes past my supposed "appointment time" I just left. Beware of false promises with this place.
