One of my favorite places to come for pizza! I love the options they have for seating, my dog is allowed, and they show fights / games on the projector without a charge (which I'm not used to). The staff are always very friendly when I visit and quick with bringing food out. Terrific atmosphere STEPS from Petco. The brick, open glass, high ceilings, two bars, seating areas, are all welcoming. Classy, modern but still relaxed-casual. A great place to hang and watch games on MANY TVs or just get a drink and eat with friends! Our large group was truly tended too and tried a bit of everything! My personal favorite was the hot honey pizza but there wasn't a bad bite. It's always terrific to have a few salad options. The Shakshuka app is unique. I love the breakfast incarnation of this dish so as a dipping appetizer with pizza dough rolls, it was re-invented in a fun other form! You can go to town in making you own pie, indulge a classic, or revel in something new and unique - toppings on speciality pizzas ranging from banana peppers to blue cheese to ricotta to blueberries and beyond. MY BLUE BOY and ALMOST TOO FAR are well worth swerving outside your usual wheel house. It's great too to have a nice carb like pizza with beer, cocktails etc but brew with pizza often can be carb heavy. NOT THE CASE HERE. The pizza is satisfying, rich, fantastic, but also light. No rock in your stomach after over-indulging. The Chef has done his homework about the pizza creations he is obviously very passionate about! Living near by I'd been watching this place be fixed up and was excited when they finally opened. I tried it for the first time on the second day they were open and it was pretty great! I ordered the steak bites and shared it with a friend and the meat was delicious and the portion size was perfect, we both filled up and still had a little left over. Went again last night and I'm sad to say the food was not consistent from the first time. First, we had to flag down a service person to let them know we'd be outside. We were given an old menu that had incorrect items. I was excited to order the steak bites again and the portion size was soo much smaller than the first time, for about the same price. This place is a mess! We live in the neighborhood and was so excited to see a revamp of our favorite spot but we have been so let down. The renovation is very nice and clean but the prices are outrageous $12 for a seltzer! Is beyond, and hardly any beers on tap. The pizza is ok first time I had it was great and the second time was just a sloppy mess. Every time I have gone in the steak bites have been unavailable. The icing on the cake was a couple days ago I was in sitting at the bar and the owner came out yelling and degrading his staff in front of customers. This was the straw for me! This place is a neighborhood staple and brings in the community, when I hear this it just turns me off from a place. The energy is as super off and also the music either sucks or not on. We brought in a bunch of people one weekend and they refused to change the music so our party of at least 20 all left because we were so board. Should have stuck with the basics! read more

Must try! Five stars! This is a super cool space with comfortable, industrial, upscale design. It has a great vibe! You will love this gathering spot in downtown San Diego. The people? Recently went with a large group. I think we tried just about everything on the menu. Loved the pizza!!! Especially the Almost Too Far, the BBQ, and the My Boy Blue. It's hard to name a favorite. Long wait for no pizza!! We stopped here to grab some pizza before the Padres game. We were the first ones there at 11 a.m. and ordered two cheese pizzas. Some friends arrived a bit later and ordered two additional pizzas. Their pizzas arrived before the cheese pizzas, so we asked the waiter, Casey, how long until the cheese pizzas would be out. He said, "In a few minutes." The place got a lot busier and we waited for another 30 minutes before asking the waiter where the pizzas are. He said he didn't place the order but could have those fired out "really quick." We waited another 30 minutes until we asked him again. He said he had not placed the order. At that point, it was 12:30 p.m. and the game started at 1 p.m. So, we told him to forget about the pizzas. My three family members with dietary restrictions were starving when we left because they didn't get their pizzas that we waited 1.5 hours for. We didn't feel like the restaurant cared at all about the fact we waited so long because there was no apology, no accountability, nothing! Terrible service. The pizza we did get was okay, but nothing worth waiting that long for. I don't think we'll be back here again. read more
