Did this really happen? Took 2 hours train ride from OC to watch the games in Little Italy. We sat at a table and ordered food and drinks, but was made very uncomfortable with the way John, the person who was serving us, interacted with us. Extreamly rude! From the first moment he made us feel very unwelcomed. We decided to pay our bill and leave to another table, hoping for another server. John never brought us the breakdown of our charges, but due to his extreamly unfriendly attitude, we just decided to pay what was on the credit invoice and end our interaction with him and not let him ruin our day. Unfortunatly left him a good tip thinking he may be having a bad day. Place was not busy and there were two other sets of empty tables available. We sat at one, but the TV was in an angle that we could not watch the game comfortably, so moved to the table next to it. This is when hell froze. Unfortunayly it was part of John's section to serve. He kept ignoring us and when we finally were able to flagg him down to order, he flat out said " He will not serve us becouse we kept changing tables"...seriousely???? are we in twilight zone??? It got worse when we complained to the manager, as he simply could care less. John clearly does not belong in hospitality sector, specially if he is uncomfortable dealing with foreigners, but its the Manager's fault as he is the one allowing this behavier to go on. He should take respondibility for his employee's prejudice. From reading other low star comments, it seems to be an ongoing practice for this stablishment. But, shout out to Elisabeth, the waiter who came out to help us, for picking up a disasterous situation and making us feel great again. We were barhopping in SD and saw Princess Pub and thought it looked like our vibe. We love anything divey and vibey and it looked perfect! The vibe was fun, it was definitely laid back and more of a dive atmosphere with a touch of Irish bar. The service missed the mark. Drinks took a really long time to get and when we did get them, they were wrong. When we asked for them to be corrected we were told they were not incorrect. We ordered tequila and we were served whiskey - very incorrect but we didn't want to push. The vibe is fun but it would've been a lot better had the service been on par. The servers at this bar will not help you if you are not in their section!!! We were in a section no one came to assist us so one of my friend went up to the bar to ask for a drink. The bartender turns around and says " no I can't help you find someone in your section" I'm confused--- why can't the bartender serve anyone? Just say you don't want my money!!! So what do we do go back to our " section" and watch a server pass us by 5 times... finally he takes our order. On the way out I a random server if I could just have a cup of ice--nothing more.. Came in today to try and catch an NWSL soccer game. When asked at the bar if they had it by our waitress, the game was on ION, the gentleman behind the bar said "Who wants to watch that?". After a few minutes, the waitress returned stating they did not have the channel but made no effort to look or try and find out if they actually had the channel. Women's sports are equally as important and if that's not the clientele you want maybe don't hang any soccer merchandise. Disappointing for San Diego, do better considering the women's team is doing much better than the men's team in SD currently. read more

My partner and I are SD locals and have been to Princess Pub a number of times. We visited today to watch a World Cup match, it was not particularly busy, but we were completely ignored, except for when they told us to move out of the way. People around us were being served and we were not acknowledged- for 45 minutes! We left without a single drink or word from the staff (other than move to a different table). We just returned from the UK where we watched several matches, and that's not how real pubs treat their football fans. We will stick with Bluefoot for matches from now on. read more

Great dive bar in little Italy. Bartenders are friendly and customers at the bar are all happy and easy to strike good conversations with. Price point is average, definitely won't break the bank here and you'll most likely leave here content. There front patio looks very welcoming. Especially if you are a dog owner. We saw many pup pups with responsible pet owners. I would definitely come back here to bring our dog for a drink while we people watch. Stopped by for a glass of red wine before dinner. The security at the front and servers were friendly and helpful. The pub itself was lively and crowded inside so my husband and I sat outside. Our server was quick to take our order, to fulfill it, and close our tab. She brought these huge wine glasses 3/4 full! I was impressed! It was very good I just wish there was less ice and more than a couple sips I enjoyed the fish tacos my husband got the fish and chips. Princess Pub and Grille is located in the heart of Little Italy off India Street and the corner of Date right off the Piazza, serving up food in drinks in a Brittish style pub environment. I have come here multiple times, thinking each time will get better, but unfortunately, it hasn't. First off, the drinks are highly overpriced, and they are clearly here for the tourist and really can care less about the locals. They have ample sitting inside with a bar and multiple tvs playing sports throughout the day. They also have seating outside in the Pavillion where you can have a cold beer and food and sit outside and watch people stroll through little Italy. They have specials in food and drinks throughout the week, such as wing nights and tacos, and they also serve a mean pozole on the weekends. Customer service is great. However, they do not have Google or Apple pay, so all purchases must be made by credit card of cash. Overall, Princess Pub might be known for their fish and chips and pozole, but the prices on items are out of this world and are clearly targeted for tourists. I understand that San Diego might be an expensive city to live in, but these prices are just way too much for anyone to afford. Our group was visiting from out of state on a work trip, and early on she forgot to place a food order for one of our group members, leaving them without a meal while everyone else was served. At the end of the night, when we asked to split the check, she refused. We explained that we were traveling for work and needed to pay with multiple cards, which is common for work-related expenses. Instead of trying to help or offering a solution, she became dismissive and ultimately threw the check on the table when we asked if we could pay with five cards. But I ended up here with friends while on a waitlist for another restaurant nearby. You very rarely see these types of humans in the wild that work there. They self proclaim to hate people, social gatherings, and being friendly. Even though I know all of what to expect when visiting this place, I still can't seem to do anything right in their eyes. My vodka tonic and draft beer are simply too much for these people to handle in a gracious fashion. Can't even trust them to make a margarita without spitting in it because, that's probably too many ingredients for them to use at one time. Work sucks, I know..... show some straight up composure and decency towards your community. Location is the only thing keeping this place in business. Even with low expectations, you'll still be extremely disappointed. This isn't a shift thing or a staff thing. It's a management thing and a practiced culture here.
