    Game day specials
    Lauren B.

Came a few times during Padres games. Vibes are always good. Service is always helpful, polite, and quick. Game day specials keep us coming back. They have a huge space super close to petco park. So if you're coming to watch the game on their multiple TVs or leaving the game early for a cheaper drink, they got you. Variety of food from pizzas, wings, starters, and salads. Also got a full bar. It's very easy to get comfortable here. We've seen groups of all sizes and some families with kids. It's a spot that is more chill than your usual sports bar, and still has great service and quality.

Far Corner is awesome! Whether with friends or just to watch a baseball game, this place has you covered. The pizza was outstanding. I ordered the Almost Too Far and it was delicious. The flavors complemented each other well and the crust was perfectly cooked and crispy. The cheese, basil, and honey were all a chef's kiss. I even had some leftovers to take home! The Aguachile was also surprisingly good! If you like a little spiciness, this dish will definitely have you covered. The staff was friendly, but when I went they were severely understaffed and service was super slow. It was hard to even find a waitress to get the check.

Far Corner is a great spot for pizza or a drink especially to watch a game, before or after going to a game or concert at Petco Park or honestly just anytime you are in east village. I used to be a big fan of Basic which was the predecessor in this spot. I loved the warehouse loft feel, one side being more restaurant style and the other more lounge/bar. I loved the casual fun atmosphere and of course the pizza. Good news is all of those things continued with the change! We did exchange New Haven style pizza for the NY-ish style pizza but the most important thing is their pizza is still good and really hits the spot. I recently have come here before games, as a stop in bar crawls, to watch the ISA World Cup match, and before concerts. Definitely one of our go-to's in the neighborhood.

Delicious pizza, great atmosphere, great bartenders. We've visited several times and each time it has been amazing. Very consistent with food quality, drinks are never empty, and portions are great. Tons of seating and great deals during happy hour!

Hiya B.U.M.S., We walked in, and the host told us to find a seat anywhere--a really great perk. We chose a spot near the bar and close to a large garage-door opening; the breeze coming through was fantastic while we sat on some very comfortable chairs. This place is family-friendly. The family next to us had several kids, and they all looked like they were having a great time. They also had a Cubs game on, which was awesome to keep me entertained--it's always nice to watch a team other than the home team on TV. For food, we ordered the crispy potatoes, which had a great crunch on the outside and a super soft inside that complemented the toppings perfectly. We also got an Italian sandwich that came with juicy banana peppers--I made sure to get one with every single bite. The sandwich had the right meat-to-bread ratio for me, though my wife felt there was a bit too much bread and ended up removing half of it before finishing. We wrapped up the meal with a sausage and pepperoni pizza, which I enjoyed a lot. The pepperoni was juicy (not burnt or rubbery), the sausage was full of flavor, and the crust came out just how I like it: thin, crispy, and easily foldable so you can hold it with one hand and bite right in. To drink, my wife had a JuneShine and I had a non-alcoholic Athletic IPA, which tasted just like a real IPA. Overall, the place was great because of the atmosphere. We always like to give credit where it's due: Jason, our server, noticed we hadn't been attended to right away when we sat down, immediately came over, and took care of us with high energy and excellent customer service. Great job, Jason! We'll definitely be back soon. Have you been to Far Corner? Do you like pizza? Let us know in the comments!

This place is amazing. The service is on point. Multiple people cover the area so they can make sure everyone gets the attention needed and food and drinks come out asap. Food was delicious. Caesar salad was dressed well and tasted amazing, beer list is great (like all of SD), and craft cocktails are cool (but I'd prefer a couple originals in the future). So close to petco park, but also easy to get to on a normal day. Loved this spot and it's on my return list

As someone that has been cooking for years. I couldn't understand why a glass would smell like egg. But then I remembered the bartenders were storing eggs in glass. The poached egg in my plate had a little to no odor. It was just completely bland and overly cooked. Not for me. Correction in brewing technicality it is not considered a blonde, but it is light colored.

Open space, perfect for big groups. Location is also conveniently right across Petco park, so a great place to pre game at. Haven't tried their food yet, but came here for drinks with a big group before a Padres game.

    Almost Too Far

Finally came back in to sit down at the restaurant and my honest review is that the pizza is great, the drinks are good, and price point is good, but the service here simply isn't. We came in at 8pm and immediately our server said the kitchen was closing so we had to put our order in, which is fine, so we asked what time they were closing and he said "I'm trying to get out of here within an hour so yeah it would be great for you to be quick". The restaurant closes at 11pm.... I just went through and read several reviews here that also share similar sentiments and the responses from the restaurant owner on every bad review have now put me off from this place. I hope they can work on their service and understand they replaced a very beloved pizza place in East Village, so yes the bar will be higher for them but Yelp reviews are here to help restaurants learn and grow and hear from the people, not to leave snarky responses when given criticism.

Mmmm... pizzzzaaaaa!! Still kinda the same place it was before just a new name. Happy to see they still got the pool table. Spacious bar area and couches to chill in. Bartenders are bz bz so be patient. Does get bz bz b4 Padres games.

There was an egg in that sauce. We all thought it was cheese...

Adding another star. I think they had a bit of a rough start. Still working out kinks (like serving water and not sprite....sprite has bubbles...wasn't even soda water. Pure water) hey it happens. Have been in for a few meet ups and trying some new items. Starting to look busier when I walk by. Finding their way to be a great addition to the neighborhood.

We came here to watch the last minutes of a basketball game and grabbed some drinks. It's roomy inside with a pool table and music. Bf got the Tropical Tranq and friend got Old fashion. Nice ambiance to watch a game and chill with friends. They also have a food menu!

From the spooky, dark, skulls old school ambiance and decor, to the experience of not ordering from a menu, everything about it made it feel unique and curated making it feel like a true individualized experience. As mentioned, there are no menus. We sat at the bar, the bartender makes casual conversation with you regarding the types of drinks you enjoy. He curated something for both my husband and I based on what we shared we enjoyed. The drinks were delicious. The entry was very cool! It felt as if you were entering a hidden spot - which you do. When you enter the restaurant, you let the hostess know you're there for the Noble Experience. She let us know to head to the wall with the kegs (which is actually a door). You enter and there's a small waiting area where you're greeted by another hostess. This place is a 20/10. We can't wait to return on our next visit to SD.

The Mothership is a unique cocktail bar in San Diego with a spaceship theme. The front of the…read morebuilding is very unassuming, but once you enter, you are transported to a spaceship that has crashed on an alien planet. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made on OpenTable. The main bar area is just inside the entrance, and has a "inside the spaceship" vibe. The décor is great with bulkheads, overhead ducts and grates, geometric panels and lights, devices and cabling, etc. The back of the bar features a cool color changing and bubbling reactor. When I was booking our reservation, I was on the fence between booking the bar or dining room. While the bar area does look very cool, I'm happy I went with the dining room. The vibe in this area is you're half in the crashed spaceship, but also outside at nighttime on a tropical planet. The back wall has similar décor to the bar area, but there are rock cave walls, vegetation, and stars overhead. Shooting stars periodically shoot across the sky. There are subtle sound effects playing in the background that add to the environment. There is also some tiki influence with colorful tiki lights being replaced by illuminated aliens egg pods. There is also music playing in the background that they custom curated and is kind of a mix of sci-fi and tiki that totally goes with the environment. I started out with the Self-Destruct Sequence (black pot still Jamaican rum, spiced West Indies rum, aged Caribbean rum, grapefruit, lime, cinnamon, cardamom, Angostura bitters, absinthe, $17). This cocktail was excellent, and is probably one of my new favorites. It was perfectly balanced and complex. Every single flavor was there if you looked for it. She started out with the Away Mission (aged Caribbean rum, gold pot still Jamaican rum, crème de banana, kumquat, papaya, pineapple, lime, opal basil, mint, $16). This was another good balanced cocktail, but with a sweeter flavor profile. I was on the fence for my second drink, and ended up going with the Mindkiller (navy strength West Indies rum, white overproof Jamaican rum, Amaro Meletti, coconut cream, pineapple, tangerine, orange, lime, Tang cordial, $19). I asked our server before ordering it and she confirmed it was definitely a sweeter drink. After seeing this drink on many of the other tables, I had to try it. It is definitely sweet and boozy. The pineapple, coconut, and citrus definitely stand out and the Tang cordial on top kicks the orange into overdrive. I probably wouldn't order it again, but don't regret trying it. Plus, I got that cool swizzle stick to add to my collection. For her second, she had the Revival Mission mocktail (papaya, kumquat, mint, basil, pineapple, lime, soda, $13). We goofed and didn't realize this was the mocktail version of the Away Mission. It had a similar flavor profile but was sweeter. In hindsight, we should have paid closer attention and ordered one of the other mocktails. Be sure to check out the restrooms. They are lit with all red pattern on the walls with mirror on the ceiling, and a mission control type sound track playing in the background. The hallway by the bathrooms is also fully themed, with décor and bulkhead doors. We were initially greeted and served by Anthony, and another server who's name I didn't catch took over for him halfway through. Service was very friendly, and helpful as we asked several questions about the menu. All of our drinks came out in a timely manner, and we were not rushed to leave. We managed to catch the little show that occurs when certain drinks are ordered. The lights dim, special alarm sounds play, and smoke comes out of the spaceships overhead ducts. In addition to picking up some cool swizzle sticks, I also bought their purple cosmic skull mug and a pair of cocktail glasses as souvenirs from our visit. We will definitely return the next time we are down in San Diego.
