When East meets West we have Far East Taco. Awesome little spot on the corner of Dundas and Neyagawa in the Fortino's plaza. They are a fusion restaurant that combine Korean style cuisine with western cusine like tacos and poutine. We ordered their Pork Kimchi fries and added a fried egg on top. The flavour is great love the extra texture that the egg yolk added when you break it open. The regular portion is a good size. The Beef Mandu is good as well fried perfectly juicy inside flavourful. Of course the stars of this place are their tacos and baos. We ordered 4 different tacos. We got a fish taco, pork taco, beef bulgogi taco, and pork bulgogi taco. Out of the 4 different tacos our favourite taco was the fish taco, tender soft white fish and flaky. The baos are fluffy and sweet we got the trio of pork belly, beef bulgogi, and kalbi baos all loaded with everything. The portions are a decent size lots of filling and best part they don't really fall apart on you. The packaging is a great design they have dividers to keep your taco and bao standing upright so it doesn't fall over and make a mess as you bring them home. We will be back for more soon. Feijai Out!

I absolutely love all of the flavours of the dishes. This is a family owned restaurant with all housemade marinades, pickles and kimchi. Everything is so flavourful you are left wanting more even though you're full! The bao: the baos are super fluffy and have such a great chewy consistency. they are also filled to the max. I had the tofu filled bao and it was so crispy the taco: the meat is cooked so well and has to much flavour, i highly recommend trying out the tacos The rice bowl: this was my favourite dish to eat. so much variety and you get to taste all of the different pickles. would highly recommend

This place has been sitting on my "try this!" list for quite sometime. I was excited to order Bao because it's not something I eat often. I ordered the Tofu/Mushroom and the Pork Belly. The Bao taco shells themselves were really enjoyable, big, and the texture was really nice. I appreciated that they didn't fall apart when biting into them. I had kind of hoped the tofu/mushrooms were prepared to mimic ground meat but the tofu was one big piece. I wish that there was more mushroom inside for flavour. I am a huge fan of sauce and really envisioned spicy korean hot sauce but for me, there wasn't enough heat. On the pork belly bao taco, i added kimchi. This definitely enhanced the flavour. The pork belly pieces were cut which i appreciated as I was able to take a little bit with each bite. Both bao tacos were packed with ingredients which at a glance was impressive! But eating it, a-lot of the slaw fell out and took the sauce with it. I also ordered veggie mundo on the side which was a nice add and the sauce that came with it was delicious! I will say I also appreciated the packaging, the box for the bao tacos had a holder/divider so they didn't fall over in transit :). Overall, i enjoyed trying far east taco and I will return to try the kimchi fries!

Love this spot! If you haven't already stopped by this Korean BBQ inspired spot at CNE - now's your chance to visit in Oakville! Tons of options - steak, pork, fish and tofu! Kimchi fries are a must but you also need to get a Bao bun! Ask the staff for recommendations and fan favourites super friendly staff and owner - you can tell she's passionate and the love can be tasted in the food! Located in a busy plaza but lots of parking available! Korean Fusion doneeee right

Such great flavours in everything, nothing too spicy which was great. A great impression made for my first visit and I'll definitely be back to try something new! 100% recommend if you want a filling meal. I think the price as well is great for the quantity.

Tried out this place for lunch with my husband and son. I order the pork belly taco. My son had the all I taco. My husband had the bulgogi rice bowl. We all shared the bulgogi kimchi fries. Everything was very good. I especially enjoyed the pork belly taco. So good!!! Now we only need to travel to Oakville to get our fix of Korean fusion. We will be back again for sure! We haven't even left and my husband went back for the baos lol

I wish I could give this place a 3.5 star. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The food is fine. It's simply that nothing stood out as a wow. It was just okay. Perhaps it's because I have had better iterations of both kimchi fries and Korean tacos at a few other places. Then again, it's safe to say that at the moment that Far East Taco is the best kimchi fries and Korean tacos in Oakville.

If you are thinking of ordering from here - DON'T. I feel compelled to write a review to warn others. Ordered delivery from here (bulgogi bowl and a bao) and it was absolutely awful. It was all sloppily out together and tasted awful. It was as if everything was put together by a child with no cooking experience. The bowl was mostly just rice. Toppings were bland and didn't compliment each other. Definitely not worth the price.

I love the concept of the place and am not sure I've ever seen this broad of an Asian fusion concept before. I decided on the mango chicken which was quite good; the chicken was lightly breaded and fried and still crispy in the sauce. The flavor was good; it's labeled as spicy but definitely wasn't. They do have chili sauce on the table though so easy to add more heat. Heads up that rice is not included and needs to be ordered as a side if you want it. Entrees came out within minutes of ordering and beat our spring rolls to the table by a fair amount of time. Service was good and we really appreciated that a staff member asked us if we wanted the shade next to our table pulled down so the sun wouldn't be in our faces. Location is in a strip mall with plentiful parking.

There are different locations throughout the GTA, serving the exact same menu and concept. Service is fast and efficient. You order on your phone by scanning the QR code on the table. Food comes out within ~5 minutes - very fast! The menu is quite extensive. They have a wide variety of teppanyaki rice sets available, as well as noodles, mini hot pot (including individual servings), and various drinks and Asian desserts. I love that you can customize each dish by adding the add-ons (additional ingredients). You can even "build your own teppanyaki set" by choosing the carbs, sauce, protein(s), and add-ons (including vegetables). We only tried the teppanyaki rice sets this time around. The Sizzling Japanese-Style Assorted Vegetables consisted of cabbage, green pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, and corn. This was listed under "snacks" category, and we thought it would be a good veggie dish accompaniment to the other main dishes. I found it to be very salty and saucy. It had an aftertaste that I didn't really like. The pieces of green pepper, zucchini, and mushrooms were very small, that you could barely taste them. It was mostly white cabbage shreds and corn. The 3 teppanyaki rice sets (including one deluxe set) were good. The Jumbo Unagi Teppanyaki Rice was one of my favourites - the unagi there was "jumbo" indeed (biggest and longest I had ever seen that was served with a rice set in a restaurant). I liked that it wasn't doused with too much unagi sauce wich tends to be sweet and sticky. There was a good amount of meat in the unagi as well. Salmon & Shrimps Teppanyaki Rice Set and Seafood Rice Set (salmon, scallops, shrimps) were also decent. The Seafood Rice Set (considered a deluxe menu item) had a bigger and better salmon compared to the thin salmon slices in the Salmon & Shrimps Teppanyaki Rice Set. The shrimps and scallops were pretty good (there were more shrimps than scallops). All dishes came with corn and green onion, and you can choose to add extra add-ons such as cabbage, green pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, garlic bits, extra protein, etc. As garlic lovers, we added extra garlic bits to every teppanyaki set that we ordered. Overall, good food and fast service. I wish the Sizzling Japanese-Style Assorted Vegetables dish wasn't so salty, and came with more / bigger pieces of the actual vegetables rather than just mostly corn. But the other teppanyaki rice sets were good value.

The shrimp dumpling, pork dumpling and sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf were really good. They didn't have miso soup but the tom yum soup was weird with a beefy msg soup taste to it. The general tso chicken and sweet & sour chicken lacked sauce and flavor. Also, there was too much batter. The braised beef was good flavor and would good with rice noodles. The fried coconut shrimp and sweet potato fries were delicious. The vegetable dishes were pretty bad because some may not like that they were quite crunchy and the carrots had a bad taste. The server told us it was Japanese cheesecake but it wasn't. It was still pretty good though. Said they had cappuccino and when asked we were told it was espresso. The seaweed salad was strange. didn't have the flavor like most and was padded with the additional pieces of lettuce.wth.. The food was a hit and miss. Some were good and some not so good. Not the best food in my humble opinion. Sashimi sushi is very limited in choices and were sold by the piece not included in the AYCE. The ordering system was by talking to the server and a menu they had provided and was held in a menu cover that originally was for the Pickle Barrel restaurant. Wtf, how ridiculous is that. The server was decent but sure seemed like she could improve a little in some aspects of the entire interaction times with her. Beautifully decorated place but it felt very dark and the overhead lights were off for 90% of th time we were there. They finally turned them on though The music was a bit loud and made it hard to have a conversation with others. The tables are for 2 and placed together to make it table for 4. The dishes were kinda big so took up a lot of space. In conclusion, it was an okay place and food experience . The food felt like it was prepared by not fully trained chefs but the walls were very pretty images but music was loud. i would go back if invited but only have some of their food dishes that were good.

She assured us not to worry as the owners are very kind and it was a place you could dress up but accept casual wear as well. So off we went. Pulling in we saw it was a restaurant attached to the Orchid Hotel. And old but beautiful looking home converted to a hotel/restaurant. Once inside I saw white linen table cloths with nice stem ware and crisp white napkins and silverware. I looked at my sister and said I think we are underdressed lol. It was a Thursday around 5 pm, no reservation but it wasn't super busy yet so we were immediately seated. The host was kind, and put two tables together for our party of 5. The menu was simple which I liked. We ordered appetizers to start, the spring rolls and the crab cakes. I apologize for not taking pictures, I was tired and forgot so I'll just say they were delicious. Sidenote: I don't like seafood but one taste of the crab cake and I could have eaten both cakes myself! So very good! For the main course I ordered the Thai chicken coconut curry which had a side of rice. My hubby ordered the salmon with rice and vegetables. From the first bite we both let out yummy noises. We each took a bite of each other's food and I can say the salmon was absolutely delicious as was my curry dish. The portion sizes were great. We were both so full. My brother in law got the lamb-it looked like it was cooked perfectly and he said it was delicious. My sister got the fish and chips-it came with a couple different sauces but all she wanted was tartar sauce and ketchup. She didn't ask if they had any because she didn't want to offend the chef lol. My niece got a beautiful big salad and enjoyed it but neither enjoyed their pics as much as us other 3 did lol. The host was engaging, he explained that it's a family run business for the last 37 yrs and the last 15 years he and his brother and mother have been running it alone. As an Asian fusion restaurant, I always come curious to see what new ideas the chef has come up with. The last two Summerlicious menus disappointed me a little--they felt a bit uninspired, with dishes like the vegetable curry and croquette. This year, however, the creativity is back, and I'd happily recommend Lee's Summerlicious menu again. Fried Wild Cod The crispy cod is served in an edible crispy rice basket, making it feel like sharing bread at the start of the meal. The fish is fried perfectly with a crisp exterior and moist, flaky interior. Paired with Thai sweet chili sauce, it's light, flavorful, and great for sharing. Gazpacho Picante A refreshing take on gazpacho. The avocado gives it a smoother texture, while the hint of spice adds another layer without overpowering the chilled tomato soup. Refreshing and a great appetizer. BBQ Jerk Pork Ribs Three generous ribs--almost a main course on their own. The meat is tender while still retaining a bit of bite, similar to the texture of slow-cooked jerk chicken. The jerk seasoning is excellent, coating every bite with rich, aromatic spices. Pan Roasted Salmon The salmon is beautifully cooked with a nicely caramelized exterior while remaining juicy inside. Each accompaniment brings something different: the olive tapenade is deeply savory, the parsnip purée is smooth and slightly sweet, the lima bean adds a creamy, nutty richness, and the lemon-tomato-pepper vinaigrette brightens everything with acidity and a gentle kick. Lima Bean Succotash Probably the prettiest dish on the menu--and also the most unusual. The lima beans and peas are cooked until tender without becoming mushy. The flavors are layered, but there's a subtle bitterness throughout. After asking the chef, we learned it's the natural flavor of lima beans and was intentionally preserved as part of the dish. Fried Organic Chicken The fried chicken is juicy and tender, reminding me of Japanese karaage. It comes with two fun sauces: one is rich and spicy with a hint of coconut, while the other is a sweet pineapple-lime mayo that pairs surprisingly well with the chicken. The pandan rice, however, was fairly ordinary. The desserts are still classic Lee--beautifully plated, but the flavors are more restrained. We tried the Rhubarb Almond Frangipane Tart, Lemon Mousse Panna Cotta (our favorite), and Strawberry Raspberry Monkey Bread. This year's Summerlicious reminded me why I fell in love with Lee in the first place.

I also highly recommend the wine paring they suggest having with the salad :) Everything else on the menu was done really well. The cheeseburger spring roll was quite unique, Indo think there could've been more texturally inside the actual spring roll, it was all mush in there. Very nice ambiance, service were very attentive, I had a great time and will be back to try more items :)
