It is absolutely beautiful out on the lake, and the views can't be beat. Here are some thoughts/recommendations for your visit: -The dock is NOT the place to fish with young children. It sways back and forth and kids are likely to fall in if they aren't watched carefully! Also be careful- there is lots of bird and deer poop on the dock! -It's hard to guess what might make the fish bite. Salmon eggs seemed to attract the most fish, but we still only caught one. We tried worms and fishing cheese as well. -The playground is really fun for kids, but the grassy area is filled with poop that make it hard to walk safely -The parking is so close to the lake, which was awesome!! Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here, and would recommend a visit! It's not a terribly far drive from Boise, either.

It was kind of near the river/launch ramp. Not much of a view. I think this location of the snake river just isn't all that nice. A lot of brown yuck and lots of flies and gnats. Had to be careful to keep our mouths closed! When I went to use the bathroom, the light wouldn't work! I tried a couple different switches (they're outside) nothing! So I had to leave the door wide open for the natural light to come in. I don't get it? Why not have a light switch inside the bathroom? Anyway definitely clean - very outdated. The camp host was nice, she saw us come in and kind of chased us down on her little golf cart and actually came around my husband's blind side and he almost ran her over! We were a little confused by the way she snuck up on us. I'm not sure if I would recommend coming here ? Definitely not an "Oasis on the Snake" Of all the RV parks that we have been to on our 2 Week road trip, this was by far our least favorite.

We had been to this store the…read moreday before to buy ice and a fishing license, so my husband returned to the store to restock the ice part. Since there is no internet at our campsite (we needed to download an important video), my husband was in the parking lot trying to download the video before buying ice. Out of nowhere, a cranky old lady from the store furiously started banging on our window, screaming! She was babbling something about going to buy our marijuana from the pot farm across the street! My husband, startled, asked her what the hell she was talking about, and that he was there to buy ice. If she had bothered to look, our small child was in the back seat witnessing her insane tirade. The cranky old lady screamed at him to GET OUT. He tried to explain why he was there, but she wasn't having any of it, she crazily told him to leave. Unbelievable "customer service." What a way to be greeted in a small town. This lady just ruined our whole experience of Huntington. We will be sure to steer our friends away from this place of business and this town. AVOID THIS STORE AND GO AROUND THE CORNER TO THE OTHER BAIT AND TACKLE GENERAL STORE--they are sure nice and treat their customers well.

It is easily accesible by a ramp down from SR 55 and there is a decent sized parking lot. The park has restrooms, a playground and several picnic tables and shelters. It seems ideal for fishing if that's something that appeals to you as the Snake River is well stocked with rainbow trout and largemouth bass.
