Fargo's Pizza is a Colorado tradition dating back to the '70s of the 1900s, not the 1800s. One part pizza joint, one part frontier museum, though the experience can feel like the whole place has been rode hard and put up wet. A little freshening up wouldn't hurt especially in the bathrooms and carpets. And with founder Landon Gardner staring down from his portrait above the fireplace, you can't help but wonder what he'd think if he swaggered in today. The place seems to run on an as necessary philosophy. Need plates? Go back and ask for them yourself. It made me wonder how other details are handled too. That feeling wasn't helped by the counter girl repeatedly dabbing at her philtrum as she greeted us to take our order. Meanwhile, the salad bar attendant was repeatedly coughing a few feet from the toppings like he'd just ridden in from a dusty cattle drive. Thankfully, the player piano was there doing its part to keep the frontier atmosphere alive. Still, there's undeniable charm in the stained glass, western ephemera, and taxidermy mounts that make the place memorable beyond the decent pizza alone. My friend and fellow Yelper Sidney S. pointed out the nonexistent wine list, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone did the uncouth thing and pregamed in the parking lot. As for the 2.8-star average: not sure it deserves it, not sure it doesn't. Oh Fargo's where do I begin? To write about Fargo's is in part to write about my childhood and summer vacations spent at my Grandparent's house in Colorado Springs, big family meals here with all the cousins, tons of pizza, and us kids running around getting all of our energy out. This was a regular stop for us when we were in town as kids and at the time it was really cool. The old west theme was super fun and us kids loved the pizza. Rolling into Colorado Springs for a one night pit stop on a road trip, this seemed like a fun place to revisit since I now have kids of my own, and pizza is always a crowd pleaser. When I pulled up the first semi red flag was just the state of the signage outside - it was quite literally falling apart. I wasn't deterred though because I figured we were here for the experience and we'd give a go no matter what. Walking in it was pretty unchanged from the 90s. And when I say unchanged, I mean nothing has been changed. From the carpet to the restrooms, to the signage - including a sign about not smoking - nothing has been updated in likely over 30 years. It was okay though, it still had some charm so we ordered and found a seat. While waiting for our food I ventured to the restroom which was honestly in pretty bad condition. Doors were broken, wallpaper peeling, holes, it just needed some major upkeep. When I got back our food still wasn't ready so my husband went to go check and it turns out it WAS ready but we had somehow missed it. Our pizza was fairly cold but we ate it anyways. The food was honestly kind of meh, and after we were done eating we walked around and explored. My kids found the place to be fun and entertaining. They loved the wax people and the decor. The thing was though, that it was just in such bad shape. This could be something really unique and fun for Colorado Springs, but instead it's just falling into disarray. I hope someone comes in and does for Fargo's what the south park guys did for Casa Bonita, as it needs some major TLC. Hope that happens and I'd love to return if it does. read more

I live 70 miles away and usually make the drive to Fargo's 2-3 times a year to get our favorite Colorado pizza. It's been over a year since I've been and just picked up 3 pizzas that cost $95. When I looked at the pizzas at the restaurant I could tell they changed the crust and really skimped on the toppings (the young man confirmed that they made some changes to the pizza). I responded with, "That's too bad". I'm not sure if there are new owners, but the pizza is nothing like what it used to be. It has a soft crust, not crispy, no cornmeal, the sauce is different and the toppings are very light. Two of my pizzas were not even cut. I won't ever be returning to Fargo's and will have to find a new favorite pizza place. The good news is I will be saving money on gas from not making the 2 1/2 hour round trip. Bring back the original recipe and you may get a faithful customer back. read more

My husband has been going to Fargos since it opened. We, as a family, have been going for 32 years. It was always our go to place for celebrations. We would take out of town visitors too. We went last night for the first time in awhile and were disappointed in the some of the changes. The switch to paper cups from the frosted looking mugs for sodas cheapens the experience. We ordered a giant pepperoni pizza and it may have well been a cheese pizza that had some pepperonis accidentally dropped on it. The salad bar was nice and seemed well maintained. We had a large group and sat at the long tables near the player piano. The tables are scratched up and some of the seats on the chairs have been taped. It doesn't help that the outside and signage often looks neglected. If one didn't know better you might think it's been abandoned. We have very fond memories of Fargos and are saddened to see it seem like the owners are resting on their former reputation of a great place and letting it become some run of the mill after thought. read more

Our family has been coming to Fargo's for more than 50 years. We are natives of Colorado Springs but I live out of state now. Several of my relatives worked at Fargo's years ago. Every time I'm in town we eat at Fargos multiple times. We donated during Covid to keep Fargos open as it was considering closing. When they changed the pizza recipe a little bit after the reopening we were pleasantly surprised. We never really had a bad experience until tonight July 23rd 2026. We arrived at approximately 7:10 p m and generally know what we want at the menu however, we were greeted by a girl named Jaslene at the order counter, and when we told her we were still deciding she rudely told me, "We close at eight o'clock". I thought that was quite rude, we told here we weren't going to wait till 8pm to place our order. She just gave us a rude stare down. We ordered a giant pepperoni pizza, 3 onetime salad bar and 3 soft drinks and our bill was almost $75.00. Was quite shocked at how much the prices have gone up. The really issue was when we received our pepperoni pizza. One of the things that we like about Fargo's pizza is the thin crispy crust that we have loved and enjoyed for more than 50 years. That was not the pizza we received. We got something that looked like it came out of a Digiornos box and was run over in the parking lot. It was thick, doughy and about 2 pepperonis per slice. I asked the best person if he could bring the manager over to me beause I would like to make a complaint about the pizza. Guess who showed up? Jasmine identified herself as the manager. I asked her if they changed the recipe on the pizza. She informed me that they did not change the recipe, however, they did change the process of how they cooked the pizza by adding moisture to it. I asked her if anybody had made any complaints about how the pizza turned out, and she told me that everybody was happy. I asked her if she had any negative feedback, and she just told me that nobody like a change. I told her the pizza completely changed bassed on the way they cook it and she just smirked and said. Well uou ate it right? She said, if you're not happy next time, just bring it up to us and we'll be happy to give you a refund.The other pizza used to have a more slices also. The bottom line is people that know Fargo's who live here, know what Fargo's is about and that is the reason why they will drive all the way across town to come to this place. I am afraid to say that this is probably the last time that I will ever come to Fargo's. For the money that you spend, and now the changed recipe, you can get a much better pizza.Somewhere else for a whole lot less money and you don't have to put up with the young attitudes in management at this location. Sad to say but another one of Colorado Springs best is destined to not last much longer. BTW the bus boy even said all he hears are complaints on the pizza quality read more

Excellent time. A group of us met for lunch during reunion weekend. I have not been to Fargos in years and it is still amazing. The crust is dan near perfect with a crisp crunch that stands up that is still soft in the middle. I was super surprised with the combo pizza we ordered. We've been coming here for years and noticed lately that things are going down hill. Tonight was the final straw. It's a blazing hot day and they have broken air conditioning. Staff said it's been down a few years but manager denied it. The manager admitted it was 94° which is unhealthy for everyone. Pizza was good and salad bar too except for bad mandarin oranges. I reported that they were bad and watched to see if the person on the salad bar duty checked them or took them out. She did not remove the fermented mandarin oranges from the line. When I asked as we were leaving, the person behind the counter fibbed and told me I just must have not seen it done. Too bad. Don't go on a hot day, it's rough. We are so disappointed by the new taste of the pizza dough! Fargo's has been a long standing tradition in our family and we love the thin, flaky corn meal crust of this unique pizza. Imagine our surprise today after ordering our usual Giant Mainliner and being served a fluffy, garlicky and plain pizza. YUCK! The first word that comes to mind is Nostalgia! I went here with my parents! My son went with me! And now my grandson goes with us! My parents were here for their annual visit and we wanted a salad bar and pizza! One of our favorite things! My dad suggested Fargo's and we all agreed that we go! Pizza is still the same..cornmeal crust with a crunchy, chewy crust! Hot and ready to eat! Salad bar never disappoints! The ranch is really good! The ambiance is fun and filled with unique antiques from the Victorian era along with the staff! And a piano that excepts change to play and fill the restaurant! There is also an arcade! I rate food and the experience based off of what it advertises to be and then whether it meets that. This is not a five star restaurant. It's a quirky, kitschy node to a Saloon which is pretty hilarious but they certainly achieve that! The decor inside is a trip. Tons of stuff to look at including the magic mirror that puts your order number up when your food is ready. I honestly expected it to not be very good but the pizzas were better than expected! The crust was fluffy and not greasy at all. The veggie pizza comes with an entire garden of tomatoes. It all tasted fresh so I can't gig them any stars and I would totally go back with friends of family in town for the novelty! read more

We have been getting pizza every friday for 40yrs. Today is our 38yr Anniversary. Yesterday we bought Fargos on Friday like we always do but the last month they have got every pizza wrong. One week they forgot tomatoes and extra sauce. Yesterday they didn't put extra sauce like I asked and both pizzas were dry. Thats $100 in pizza We only ate half of 2 pizzas because it was dry. Fargos has always been our favorite pizza on Fridays but lately very disappointing. I dont know if its a management issue or the person reading and making the pizza orders. I dont make a lot of money so spending $100 and not getting what we asked for very disappointing. These were all delivered on time but the product was sub par. Gosh, I really wanted to like this place and in some ways I do. Awesome atmosphere, great building, terrific idea, very friendly staff and cheap(er) prices but the food is below average at best. My wife and our family tried fundamentally everything on the menu and most were bad. Only a few items were "okay". This is a one time place so if you go, get the spaghetti and meat balls, lower your expectations and DO NOT order the pizza. I do not like leaving bad reviews but this place really has a great idea and I really do want it to last for a long time but please.... Increase the prices and quality. This pizza was awful. Cardboard is exactly what the crust tasted like. It was crunchy and crispy and it was definitely not thin crust. It was just a thin piece of cardboard. Toppings were awful, service was awful. Do not waste your money here. Their drink fountain did not work this day. We were forced to buy bottled drinks. And then we were told that there was no water available. But then I see other customers with water. I see other customers with cups of ice for their bottled drink. The service was absolutely awful. The pizza is not very good unfortunately. I had a small vegetarian, my husband has the French dip. We both Added on the salad bar, one trip is $8.84. I believe that is Way too much to add on a one trip through with a cereal bowl size bowl. So, for the 2 of us, around $47!! Way way too expensive for 2 people. As first-timers, we needed clarification on the process of ordering & picking up the food; there was a hostess to guide us. Once we realize the process is like Chuck E Cheese, then it's easy. Order your food at the counter, pick up your food at the counter, fill your own pitchers of drink, and seat yourself. The Western theme ambiance is relaxed and fun, but not all employees dress the part. It seemed like all the employees worked behind the ordering counter, and no floor staff was walking around to check in on you. It was really the wild wild west in there. We have been going to Fargos since the 70's and this year's Christmas Eve trip was made unpleasant by the staff working the pick up counter. Two of our pizzas were not cut and we returned it to have them cut the counter servers were rude stating yes has been cut even though by lifting the crust you could see that it wasn't. They grab the pieces of the fresh tomatoes tossed them on the counter cut it then tossed the tomatoes back on top then shoved them back at us. This behavior is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. I am sure we were not the only customers treated with disrespect. In addition 2 pitchers of soda we purchased were flat and had to be replaced. Also the bathrooms were dirty and you know what they say if the bathrooms are dirty so is the kitchen. It seems that Fargos is going downhill. We will think twice before visting Fargos again. read more

We visited Fargo's last Sunday to celebrate a birthday. Not only was the restaurant really warm inside the bathroom was disgusting. I let a worker know the restroom needed attention right after we arrived. When I went before we left, the issue had not been addressed. This is a place that serves food and it's hard to enjoy a meal knowing someone had gone #2 on the floor and it had been sitting there for who knows how long. I've tried to visit them several different times since they've re-opened--no luck. 1st time: they literally stopped taking orders 3 hours BEFORE they closed. 2nd time: called and they said they're not taking take-out orders; dine-in only. 3rd time: went inside and the wait to ORDER was 2 hours. 4th time: called again to check wait times, they don't even answer the phone anymore. 5th time: went in and there was no line. YES! Wait time for pizza was at least 90 minutes. This one really got me. There was no one inside the restaurant!! 6th time: 3 hour wait. I really hope they get it together. I mean they don't answer the phones, they don't do take-out orders over the phone, they don't deliver--I don't see why it's this complicated to make pizzas when you're only option is dine-in. I mean, I can understand the first few days after re-opening but c'mon a month later and the wait times are still hours long?!? If they're understaffed then I'd recommend hiring. So I ended up here two days in a row thanks to a high school grad party and a football ceremony. This place is nuts on the weekend so be ready to wait in line and be overwhelmed by the noise (what did you just say?!!! I can't hear you!!). The ambiance is a throw back to when I was young with a western theme. The pizza is a 5 out of 10. I'm not sure if it's the cheese but it feels super thick like they layered sliced cheese on it instead of shredded cheese. The salad bar is okay. I mean for a kids football ceremony it was a good place to go since they have the game room, however, multiple games done work. You place and order and wait for your number to show up, if you order soda/water you have to go to the bar to get your drink and if you want alcohol, you have place and pay for it there also.
