My favorite place to be. I've been going every year during this time for the last 5 years & we start talking about how excited we are for next year the second we leave. The most relaxing place I go to. Always enjoy just sitting at the beach or spending time with family & friends. Encourage everyone to come & spend a week here!

The park is right on the beach with beautiful views of the islands. The hosts are super nice and they keep the place sparkling.

We were so lucky to get a reservation for a night a this beautiful location! We cannot wait to go back and stay longer. We stayed in 19, it had a wood fire pit and a picnic table. The middle sites are a little tight to back into but we were lucky to not have anyone parked in front so we had a fairly easy time. I think sites 7-17 would be the easiest to back into since there isn't much in the front except road. Spots are tight and you are close to your neighbors but the view makes up for it!

Wow! This place is just amazing! How can you say anything bad about getting to park right next to the beach?! Beautiful views! Wonderful sea smells! Wonderful sound of waves crashing as you sleep at night! Just awesome!! The place is always booked because it's so nice. So book early. Some of the places are a little tight to get in to, but we made it work. They have a snack bar that is open every day, I believe. Bathrooms are clean. Some of the spots have hookups, some don't. Some have fire pits, some don't. If you get a spot without a fire pit, bring a propane fire with you. Will definitely be back!

Can't beat this location! Whether stopping off to enjoy a coffee on your daily drive or booking a camp stay for the weekend, this place is beautiful and peaceful.

It's always so hard to get in here, so we are usually down the road at Hobson, and now I know why! Faria is SO well taken care of! Christy & Jeff truly care about this park & do everything they can to ensure it's clean & ready for everyone! They are up early cleaning up sites people leave less than when they arrived, & they are up late ensuring guests are able to enjoy their trip without it being a big party park, which I wholly appreciate! Jeff even hung out a couple of days with my hubby playing cornhole! We were able to grab site 19, which is one of the sites with full hook-ups & like most of the sites, right on the ocean! The new cafe owners (Peirano's Beachfront Cafe) have done a great job creating a little oasis inside the park, it was great to be able to grab lunch there as we were setting up & breakfast as we were cleaning up to go home! Love that they serve adult beverages now, just wish the menu was a LITTLE more diverse. The service was AMAZING, my son dropped his plate & they kindly remade his entire order! The food was tasty & the fries were some of the best I have ever had! We had an amazing 6 days & I have to say although we have had some great trips at Hobson, this park is hands down top notch! Here's hoping we have an opportunity to grab reservations soon!!

The weather, the view and the tranquility it is close to the city markets and restaurants but it feels a world away from hustle and bustle of city life

I love the option to TENT CAMP BESIDE THE OCEAN BUT ....Very close quarters. If your neighbor cranks up their engine , to run their electric , you will be sucking their exhaust fumes . A lovely sunrise session in your camp inevitably ruined because the neighbors must microwave their breakfast. It's honestly worth paying extra for an electric spot to avoid the generator junkies. But then you get the wood smoke because the electric spots are also the fire ring spots

A hidden gem campground located right by the ocean that's not restricted to only RV's and is accessible for vehicles and tents. This camping experience was the closest I've been to the ocean. The low tide during the afternoon allowed us to access the beach area nearby. The campground had restrooms, shower rooms, a sink for dishwashing, and a café (which I did not see open during my stay). Online reservation is available through their County website. Our Lot space (27) was big enough to fit two vehicles. The site came with a table connected to bleachers. However, this space did not have a firepit, and when I asked if we could bring our own, they said it must be connected to propane. Overall, the campground is beautiful and well-maintained. The cleaning crew came in the morning and cleaned the bathroom. We slept in the car for the first time. We wanted to test a feature called Camping Mode and were cozy inside the vehicle. The stars came out in the evening, and there were many but not infinite. During the evening, the water level started to rise, and we heard the waves crashing closer to our site. Luckily, boulders surrounded the ocean's edge and prevented the water from coming in. We had a definite blast and planned to return.

Faria Beach was amazing! I got there early evening to watch the sunset Spent the on site for two days. The showers were clean, restaurant was quaint and the night monitor was very polite. Highly recommend you book early.

Sunset in front of our campsite!

Our favorite place to camp! We come at least 3-4 times a year! They have clean showers and bathrooms! Best part is the ocean view and private beach!

Our favorite camping spot, we camp up and down the coast all year, but Faria has our hearts. Beach access is great. Camp ground is kept very clean, thanks to the camp hosts Jeff and Chrissy who go above and beyond to keep it looking great. Bathrooms and showers are clean too. Cafe on site in case you don't want to cook.

Coolest campsite! I will definitely be back. Amazing location. Easy to use. New favorite.

Ask the Community - Faria Beach Park

    Is Laura's snack bar open?

Laura has retired, the new camp hosts are Christy and Jeff. They are now separate from the snack shack. It is now called FARIA BEACH CAFE run by a local Ventura business. There will be smoked meats, a full menu (see online), as well as items you may…

    Is there fishing here?

People fish all the time. I see people catching fish. So yes as long as you have a fishing license.

Is the showers open to the public if you do not camp there? After spending time on the beach, we prefer to take a full shower, not only rinse off at the beach?

Technically they are only for campers, however I have seen others use them. If you use them respectfully, and leave them clean, I have seen them turn a blind eye. Once people start abusing them, (leaving them sandy and messy), that will most likely…

    Are wood fires allowed?

Yes but only on sites where fires are allowed.

    Can you buy ice now?

When the FARIA BEACH CAFE opens in a few weeks yes.

Is the dump station open to the public for a fee? Camping at Rincon Beach, looking for a dump site.

No, you cannot dump here if you do not have a paid FULL HOOK UP site. They used to allow years ago for a fee but that ended. Also, VENTURA BEACH RV RESORT no longer allows you to dump for a fee. (City only allows if you are staying at the resort).…

Are there pay showers at the campsite and is there a place to get pottable water?

Yes they have separate pay showers for men and women. The showers are open until 10pm. Be sure to bring quarters (.75=3/2 min) for ex. And they have a station where you can get water and wash your dishes.

How do you go about getting a spot? Do you have to arrive early in the morning?

No it's required that you reserve your spot in advance on the faria beach website. You choose a spot and pay in advance. Check in time is 12pm and check out time is 11am. This is no longer a first come first serve camping site.

On Labor Day Weekend, for tent camping, what are my chances of getting a spot on Saturday morning?

Very likely if you book a spot in advance, the non-hookup sites are usually up for grabs.

How much is it to tent camp?

    I believe it's 35 a day

Is it ever a problem with over crowding? When is the best time to go when we definitely be able to get a site? Also, what is December like?

There are a limited number of sites and it is basically a large parking lot with dirt and a little grass but with an awesome beachfront location so who cares about crowding? Very clean in June. enjoy!

Here, you will stay in a trailer (possibly an Airstream or something like an Airstream) and you are probably a 10 minute walk to the beach. Beat that. If you have ever stayed in a trailer, you know it's tight quarters. But you get your own kitchen and bathroom and it's a heckuva lot more fun than a bland, stale hotel room. The site has firepits. Even better, they give you complimentary s'more kits with all the fixings. They have BBQs for grilling. They give you cookies and yogurt in the morning. They even give you oranges so you can squeeze your own orange juice. I don't drink orange juice normally but the juice here was outstanding. They have books and games available for borrowing. They have hammocks and swings and picnic tables. They have bikes for free rental. They have freshly-baked cookies that are delicious. There is apple cider and hot chocolate. There are a lot of amenities here which you simply will not find at most hotels. The train runs right by here and it's loud and shocking at first but it doesn't come by that often and you get used to it. Inside the trailer, aside from the train, the grounds are extremely quiet. This is a fun place and something different. The location is great and you get a lot of value for your money.

On this trip, we visited 14 national parks, and Channel Islands National Park was one of the most unique adventures. Unlike most national parks, getting there is part of the experience. There are no roads leading into the park, you have to take a ferry from Ventura across the Pacific Ocean. Just boarding the boat and watching the mainland disappear behind you makes the trip feel like an expedition to somewhere special. We visited Santa Cruz Island, the largest of the Channel Islands, and immediately understood why these islands are often called the "Galápagos of North America." Thousands of years of isolation have allowed unique plants and animals to evolve here, including the adorable island fox, found nowhere else on Earth. Seeing one of these tiny foxes wandering near the trails was an unexpected highlight. The hiking was beautiful, with dramatic coastal cliffs, sweeping ocean views, wildflowers, and peaceful trails. One of the things we appreciated most was the feeling of solitude. Unlike many of California's more famous parks, Channel Islands feels wonderfully wild and uncrowded. The absolute highlight of our visit, however, was kayaking through the sea caves. Paddling into enormous ocean caves carved by the Pacific was an unforgettable experience. The water changed from deep blue to brilliant turquoise as the sunlight reflected inside the caves, and every turn revealed another incredible rock formation. It was exciting, peaceful, and just a little adventurous all at once. It became one of the most memorable experiences of our entire six-week trip. Because there are no restaurants, hotels, or stores on the islands, you need to come prepared with food, water, and everything you'll need for the day. That lack of development is exactly what makes the park so special. It feels wild, protected, and beautifully untouched. Channel Islands National Park is unlike any other national park we have visited. Between the ferry ride, spectacular coastal scenery, abundant wildlife, wonderful hiking, and unforgettable sea cave kayaking, it was an experience we will never forget. If you're willing to plan ahead and make the journey across the water, you'll discover one of America's true hidden gems.
