    Breakfast

I love this place. I don't recommend it for sit down dining; but if you are looking for a deli breakfast sandwich with "real" eggs, this is the place.

I stumbled onto the Farm Cafe while perusing Yelp. I stopped in for breakfast to check them out. Farm Cafe is located in an industrial style building. While it has a few tables inside - and a table outside - it really is a "to-go" kind of place. I did not know this before hand - so I ate in - at one of the few tables inside. The inside is not very attractive. The door was propped open when I arrived - it was rather muggy inside - so no AC. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash breakfast platter: 2 eggs (over easy), Corned Beef Hash, breakfast potatoes, and wheat toast, plus a bottle of water. I requested that the breakfast potatoes and Corned Beef Hash be "crisped" up. I was told they could not do that - not sure why not - as they make your food to order. Perhaps a communications/language issue? Paid with Apple Pay. Anyhoo - food came up fairly quickly. They call you to the counter when your order is ready. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the potatoes and Corned Beef Hash were hot (but not crispy), and the toast was toasted and buttered properly. I wolfed everything down and was on my way. #FarmCafe

Good 8/10! I got the Cornbeef hash platter, first smells OMG! So good! The potatoes we'll seasoned with onions! So good!Customer Service 9/10, with smiles and friendly! Don't be discouraged by the outer appearance, it's located in an industrial area and inside gives having breakfast at your grannies house vibes.lol Ambiance 7/10. Definitely mom/pop establishment. Decided to hang inside while waiting for my food, phone stayed ringing for orders and as I'm hearing them being confirmed, they are all different and regulars were popping in/out, all great signs! Worth checking out if your in the area and want some simple good ole breakfast!

I have been coming here on and off for years. The food has always been good and the lady and man are friendly.

Minor difficulty finding entrance at first (parked on wrong side)

Dropped in for breakfast while 95 was backed up during rush hour, parked near Caliber Collision due to Google so was difficult to find entrance at first. Great friendly greeting upon making it, easy simple menu and decent prices. It is located in an industrial park so kind of truck stop feeling with its older tables and fish tanks. The owner was super friendly and while eating all the customers were greeted by name with laughter and bantering which was a good vibe. My food was served hot, and plenty of it for less than $10, coffee came in a travel cup. The omelet was delicious and home fries hit the spot.

I ordered a vegetarian crepe, and my friend got an Oreo crepe. Both were decent, but honestly pretty underwhelming. The flavors were fine, just not memorable, and definitely not something I'd go out of my way to get again. I also tried a vanilla chai latte, which was the same story--good, but nothing special. The biggest downside for me was the value. I ended up spending around $17, and it just didn't feel worth it. Between the portion size and the overall taste, it felt like something I could've easily made at home for a fraction of the price. Service was okay. The woman working there had a more straightforward, no-frills personality--not particularly warm or welcoming, but not rude either. Just very to-the-point. The space itself is also pretty small, with limited seating. It's probably best suited for quick stops or takeout rather than sitting and hanging out for a while. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but it didn't give me a strong reason to come back. If you're nearby and curious, it might be worth trying once--but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Even though it was pretty busy, we were seated immediately, and I was especially grateful to be seated in a quieter corner where the tables were more to the side instead of directly behind us. It was a stressful moment because my autistic son was having a really hard time and was clearly overwhelmed. Our server was wonderful, but the manager, Joy, was truly an angel sent at the perfect time. Not only did she remember our family from a previous visit, but after we explained that our son is autistic and was struggling in the moment, she immediately went to the back and returned with markers, paper, gemstone stickers, a timer, and more -- almost like she was fully prepared for children with sensory needs. I honestly can't express how much that meant to us. Her timing couldn't have been better, and we will forever be grateful for her kindness and compassion. On top of that, when my food came out, my steak wasn't cooked the way I requested. I honestly wasn't even planning to say anything, but Joy noticed I wasn't eating it and asked how I had ordered it cooked. When I explained, she kindly offered to remove it from the check. Managers like Joy are rare and so deeply appreciated. The food was great, but truthfully, Joy is what made this experience unforgettable. You can tell she's not only an amazing manager, but also a genuinely good person with a caring heart. Thank you, Joy, for making such a lasting impression on our family. Mother's Day was super crowded but we were able to quickly get seats at the counter. Plus at the counter there are several servers walking by that will help if you need anything. Big kudos to Theresa and Sarah who are always attentive and super friendly. Our favorites have been the Western omelette with pepper jack cheese. The fresh ingredients, including onions and bell peppers are just delicious. Definitely get the biscuit and home fries. We think the biscuits are made at the diner. The crab melt is another favorite. It's well balanced with the filling and crab. You will not go wrong with this dish.

They started us off with baskets of biscuits and two different butters- it could really have used a jam, because they were like a fancier KFC biscuit, so they were fluffy and delicious, but void of moisture. There was no offer of a jam, unfortunately. I ordered the croque madame, which is a sandwich with prosciutto, gruyere, bechamel, and fig mostarada on brioche, served with a salad. Due to medication interference i cannot have vitamin K whenever I want, so i got breakfast potatoes with it. The potatoes were out of this world fantastic! The sandwich, I subbed bacon for the prosciutto, and it was delightful! A bit salty, but made upon the ingredients, it was expected. I always thought a croque madame came with an egg on it, but theirs did not. The shrimp and grits were ordered by several people and the consensus was that there were not enough grits in the dish, making it a smaller portion than one would think. There was also some confusion bc one person asked for no tails on their shrimp What he meant was no shell, as some places give you shrimp that still have the tail portion of the shell attached and now you have to dig them out one by one and pull the shell off. They were able to grant his request and he was very happy about that! The French toast was ordered by two people and they enjoyed it, especially the orange Chantilly cream that came on the side. Two other people got the Southern Breakfast and said the spinach was phenomenal! The chicken was a little different than expected but everyone enjoyed their meal! Our server Chris was nice and professional but still personable. All around it was a great experience, although it was a tiny bit quieter than I would have liked, just because it makes a lull in conversation more awkward. Either way, five stars!

The restaurant looks like a cozy hole-in-the-wall restaurant, so it was a very casual atmosphere. I ordered a Guatemalan-Style Chicken Tamal and a Chicken Pupusa with a Fruit Juice Drink (Ensalada de Fruta). The Fruit Juice Drink was full of cubed apples and was on the sweeter side, but it was refreshing for sure. Now onto the food... Guatemalan Chicken Tamal - This has to be one of the best tamals I have ever had! I am used to the Mexican tamales that are on the dryer side, but their tamal masa was gelatinous almost like a custard, and there were big pieces of chicken meat inside. And the plus side is that the chicken was 99% meat and 1% fat! They did not skimp on the meat in this one. Chicken Pupusa - I am used to greasy pupusas, but their pupusa was significantly less greasy, and that is a HUGE plus. Also, these pupusas were less than $5.00 each and came with a huge side of cabbage. The cheese-to-meat ratio inside was also pretty decent; I would say 60% cheese, 40% meat. My husband absolutely loved all the pupusas he ordered and even bought some to take home to our family. We were served by one of the owners who was very sweet and spoke to my husband in Spanish and me in English; this means a lot to me because in other places, I tend to be ignored while they speak Spanish to just my husband. When we are back in Virginia, this will be one of our go-to spots for Salvadorean food. We are used to pupusas being over $5, but these pupusas were less greasy AND much more affordable.
