Completely disappointed. They messed up two out of three of our delivery orders! One of them being a chicken steak cheese that was almost $20 and couldn't be eaten because it had toppings on it that were supposed to be left off. Complete waste! The second was a sandwich which had extra toppings added (which cost) that were left off! What did I pay for?!? I was told someone would be in touch to make it right but was never contacted. Good local sub and pizza spot! Upscale in terms of offerings and modern space ambiance plus they have wine selection on display right in the restaurant for customers to choose. I have tried a few of their subs and pizzas which are all on the pricey side. It hits the spot when I want an authentic slice as it comes close to a New York slice which reminds me of home. Absolutely the best Italian deli I've had in NoVA in the almost 30 years I've lived here off and on. Can't believe this is my first review of the Alban location, though FAR from my first order with them. Used to order from their original location when my parents first moved to Woodbridge, VA......then at the Ft Belvior location which is when I fell utterly in love with the Pepperoni Cheesesteak and Metro Italian subs. It's been 5 years since my last visit simply because I no longer work in or near any of their locations, but we ordered via Doordash tonight. 12" Pepperoni cheesesteak with LTO, spicy mustard and hot peppers, one 12" Metro with everything, one 12" Metro with LTO and hot peppers. I knew my hot sub wouldn't be delivered hot, but honestly, I've had it lukewarm and cold and hot before and it's just as good in almost every form. They labeled each individual sub *perfectly* and we were just as impressed as we always are. Haven't tried the pizza yet, will save that for an in-person visit rather than food delivery since we're 7 miles away. Place has continually gone into a less desirable place to eat. The doozy used to be awesome. Now everything is very small portion and not created with love. However the prices have increased dramatically. You can get two 7 inch sandwiches with drinks for a mere $44. Run to the Giant up the street and buy the ingredients and make you five or six 7 inch sandwiches for half the price. Check your orders too, mine was wrong and after I bit into it and realized they left out the pepperoni. They took it back and added pepperoni on top. That's it for me! read more

It was a happy accidental discovery because of the location. I ordered the Pastrami Reuben and absolutely loved it. The full sandwich cost $14, which is quite affordable compared to NYC prices, and the portion size was perfect for an adult. Even though they call themselves a deli, it feels more like a pizza and wine joint. Parking was easy thanks to the large parking lot, and the service was friendly and attentive. Really good pizza! Got the hand tossed crust Italian Mama, Island Time and Boom Boom Wings. heard their Tiramisu was good but they ran out so got the Italian Lemon Cake instead. All the food was insanely good, and you can tell the dough was house made with time and love. I really enjoyed the food I've ordered them several times and quality has been quite consistent. Also have had their cauliflower crust versions, which are not bad, but of course not the same as the OG hand tossed crust. Cannot say much about the service/ambiance since never dined in. This is one of my favorite go to restaurants! I always can count on consistency here. I've had so many of the items off the menu and you can't go wrong with whatever you choose, especially if you love wings, pizza, and sandwiches. My only complaint is that they used to have the best onion rings, which are no longer on the menu. The service is always friendly and quick! I usually order carry out, but the inside of the restaurant is spacious if you want to dine in. There is plenty of parking outside the restaurant. Overall, I highly recommend this place! read more

Disappointed in the food. The food is not what it used to be that's for sure. So called hand tossed pizza was not the case. Clearly a premade frozen crust. Pizza was not at all spicy despite that's what we ordered and lacked flavor. The only good part was the friendly and responsive cashier so 2 stars for that. This is a review of just their pizza. The pizza is no different from Papa John's. In other words, it's an American pizza which means it lacks a unique fusion of flavorable dough and Italian tomato paste. I did not think the ingredients were fresh and for two dollars a topping, they were stingy on the amount they give you. There was too much cheap cheese on the pizza which is a common practice here, but I'm sure that many like it that way, so it's a wash. I'm probably just an outlier. However, the Bozzelli's in Crystal City (Crystal Drive) was different. I had the same pizza (mushroom and chicken) and it was as close as you can get to the old country. I guess franchises do not always have the same quality and experience. I'll be going back to the Crystal location. read more

On Sunday September 28th we decided to order delivery from the Alban rd bozellis. We did so because we had Hugh praises from a family friend. We ordered 4 subs,1 sandwich, fries, small pepperoni pizza and stuffed peppers. The total was 170 dollars. We used their online ordering site. They called to say they were out of peppers so I told them to take them off. When the food arrived the peppers were gone but it was still 170 dollars. Then upon looking at the reciept i saw a 35 doolar charge for the ordering sight they use plus a 9.50 delivery charge. I called to question this but there was a language barrier between me and them. The person said she couldn't answer my questions and would have a manager call Monday. NOTHING. The pizza was almost burnt by the way. The subs weren't what they used to be when we got the from the real Bozzellis on Rt.1 then on Belvoir. It's a shame. So heed my warning and triple check your ordering before you hit send. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Bozzelli's Deli before. I have been a faithful customer since their Rt. 1 days. Even living almost 2 hours away, we still stop at one location while in northern Virginia. There are so many options... If I'm feeling nostalgic, I'll go straight Ham and Havarti... lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo. Oil and vinegar on the side. I need to wipe my phone from the drool. If I feeling progressive, it's the cheesesteak. So yummy, so messy, so tasty. I don't need napkins, I'll lick my fingers. If subs aren't your thing, have no fear...
