The food was not good. Will not be going back. The cabbage was so greasy could not eat it. The broccoli salad was so salty could not eat it and the dry black eyed peas taste like they came out of a can. Was not country cooking in my opinion. read more

They do events as well. We had our 45th high school reunion there last night and the food was good. I want to try their hot hamburger on my next visit; people in town say it is really good, and the prices are very reasonable. read more

10/10 food, service, and atmosphere! My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way to Florida and I am so glad we did. Madi was our server and she was amazing, so friendly and a great worker. You will never eat such delicious food! We live in Hoover, Alabama and frequently drive south, always on Highway 31 so that we can eat here. The food all tastes homemade, very large portions and price includes beverages and dessert. Just ate there yesterday and would love to drive 45 minutes today just to eat there. read more

We stopped in yesterday for coffee and a sandwich while out running errands and were totally surprised by this gem in Thorsby. The parking lot was full of local cars - this is where the locals go. Looking at the menu, food prices were very reasonable with ample choices. The atmosphere was wonderful - wood burning stove in the corner. Great front porch, flowers, wood plank flooring and a modern country decor - nothing cutsie. We were greeted promptly. There is a bar or you can eat from the menu. Food came quickly and it was very good. The bathrooms and restaurant were clean - and it looked like you might be able to eat off the floor, it was so clean. Staff were smiling and friendly, calling people by name. There is a daily special posted every day on Facebook. Can't wait to go back! 5/11/18 Update - we are here this month with the local bike night group - along with a local car show! The place is hopping! The Farm House food is fresh and homemade. Farm-to-Table movement has nothing on Miss Tiffany! She buys veggies from the local produce stands all summer long. If her food is frozen, it's because she froze it. The food tonight is on the bar - hot, plentiful and tasty. Hubby even liked the greens - and he hates greens... but not at the Farm House! I've never been welcomed by the owner of a restaurant like I was today by Tiffany Collins. She knew right away that we were first-timers, and she directed a server to bring us a serving of today's special, Twisted Tomatoes -- fried green tomatoes cut into a thin spiral and served with ranch dressing. My husband and I had a Twisted Tomato eating contest! Their hot bar (they also have a full menu) featured two meats and a half-dozen selections of fresh vegetables prepared to perfection. We both chose their vegetable plate with 4 veggies. The relaxed atmosphere leaves me feeling like I'm a regular already. The owner stopped by our table after serving us herself to make sure we were happy with our lunch. She's owned the restaurant since August 2014, and she also owns the adjoining produce stand and bait shop. Her enthusiasm for good food, excellent service, and warm hospitality are all hallmarks of Farm House Cafe. We'll be back! read more

Lunch is always good, always. It is a 5 but breakfasts a 2. Breakfast taste like it is cooked in an iron skillet with grease. Pancakes are fried more than baked on a pan. Scrambled eggs are omelette eggs and greasy not light and fluffy. Grits are cold meat is usually ok. Toast is cold I really liked going here, I tried it multiple times for breakfast but will drive pasted it for about 7 miles to go to another place. This was not the case 1 year ago. Either the cook has changed or the supervision has. If they start making breakfast good again I'll go back. read more

Food has always been good. Love the OKRA last two times there they did not have it.;-( Simple set up walk in straight to small freestanding buffet. Meat and two includes tea and small square of cake $8.00 I heard there is a menu never looked at it. Sometimes the buffet items could be hotter when served. On my way to Montgomery from Birmingham and decided we'd have an easier time finding a plate lunch on 31 than on 65. Great move on our part. I yelped and found several different places and my husband flew by the first two. So I said the next one is called Farm House And is on the right and he better not pass it. So he yelled out "CAFÉ". I see a sign that's it' we made it here and the outside appearance was inviting. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Very nice lady. They have a regular menu and a buffet that is not self serve. Which I like. Food was hot and had a good flavor. I believe my meat and three was 8 and I got a small piece of pie. I had chicken, mashed taters, rutabaga , and turnips. Good. Had to ask for a refill. Will come back if I am any where close. read more

While on a day trip from Birmingham to Petals from the Past in Jemison, we asked the staff what they would recommend for a lunch spot. They quickly mentioned the Farm House Cafe, a quick 10 minute drive away. When we entered the door we were greeted with the most friendly "hey y'all" from owner Tiffany Collins and we knew before tasting the food we had made the right choice. A typical southern "meat and three" with my favorites like turnip greens, Mac and cheese, sweet tea, and cornbread. New to me on the menu was fresh rutabaga which was terrific. The fresh zipper peas were to die for! As first-timers we were given a complimentary serving of "twisted tomatoes" (deep-fried thinly sliced green tomatoes) and they will be ordered by us next time we come ... they were phenomenal! If you are looking for a homey place for cooking like mama used to do, you won't go wrong with this place! read more

This place was closed even though the Yelp Ap suggested it was open. Pleasant drive off the freeway that we would have enjoyed more if we were not so hungry after doing a century bike ride in Montgomery. Dont know if it is closed for good but not being open at 6 pm on a Saturday night is not a good sign. read more

We drive the 50 miles or so from Montgomery for our 1954 Chilton County HS Graduating class lunch each month. For you hamburger steak lovers, Tiffany's is the best. And her chicken & dumplins are unbelievably delicious. Better'n my Grandmama's. When we walk in, Tiffany Collins, the owner always greets us with a warm hug and a sweet smile.
