    Great coffee
    Roy A.

We read the reviews and arrived early since the line builds up fast. Luckily, we scored a table right away. The space is tight and a bit crowded, but the food and service make it completely worth it. We loved the attentive coffee refills and the amazing, perfectly seasoned farm fresh eggs and potatoes.

The backyard ambiance is nice with heater lamps. The food was good. I liked the blackberry coconut French toast as it was not too sweet. The potato root celery pancake was good but I feel like it is something I can make at home. I definitely enjoyed their latte!

Stopped by here with family on our way out to a hike. Comfy, very slightly upscale cafe vibes, got our group of 5 seated quickly during peak Sunday brunch time. Service was warm and quick. Everything on the menu sounds delicious and made it hard to choose. Highs: I really enjoyed my potato/celery root pancake topped with smoked salmon and pickled onion creme freche tastiness all on a bed on arugula. It was fresh and unique and filling. Buttermilk pancakes were very tasty and flavorful. Omelette of the day (local mushrooms, goat cheese, leeks) was very enjoyed as well. Less High: $9 for a side of 3 completely average bacon pieces exemplifies the challenge with this spot. Pricey for the level of quality (all solid). BIL's biscuit and gravy was just Fine. All in all, would definitely come back but just be selective about ordering!

Came here for lunch after a long hike at Mt. Tam! Super cute interior and very farm to table vibes. We decided to sit on the patio because it was nice out and we were seated very quickly. Service was very fast and our waiter Rogelio was very funny. He gave great recommendations. Food came out all together soon after we ordered and we dug in right away. Rogelio made sure to check that we had enough water throughout. My friend and I shared the Classic Salmon Nicoise (10/10) and Tri Tip Panini (also 10/10). The salmon had such a beautiful crispy skin and soft melt in your mouth texture inside and tasted so fresh, not fishy at all. Loved the salad too with the green beans, olives, cherry tomatoes, and purple potatoes. The tri tip panini was super filling with a generous portion of marinated tri tip. Loved the caramelized onions and arugula too! The cheese was also melted perfectly and the panini toasted so nicely every bite was just delicious. My other friends got the Beet and Trout Salad, Chilaquiles, and Chef's Seasonal Omelette of the Day. The trout salad looked fire. Heaping servings of smoked trout and I also tried the beets which were both the rainbow and purple kinds. So sweet! Could tell they were fresh. The chilaquiles had a nice kick to them, came with a bottle of green hot sauce which definitely ramped up the spice level. Didn't get a chance to try the omelette but it looked pretty good too. Overall, had a great experience here. Will be back next time we're hiking nearby!

It has been over 20 years since I have been in Downtown Larkspur and I have been missing out. Cute walkable area with lots of small shops and restaurants and tucked away is Farm House Local where it lives up to its name. A favorite of locals serving up dishes with local ingredients with both indoor and outdoor patio seating. We came for brunch sharing biscuits and chicken apple sausage gravy and a potato celery root pancake topped with smoked salmon. Both were delicious but the potato pancake won me over. So unique using celery root to lighten up what could be a heavy dish especially if you have biscuits and gravy for your other choice.

We haven't been here for years, and I think the restaurant has changed hands a few times in the interim. We had a Sunday brunch with a couple of friends and ate in the shaded patio in the back. Lovely environment, great conversation (you must supply your own, no uncorking fee), quick service, and wonderful food. I ordered the Chilaquiles, which included two eggs over easy, fingerling potatoes, crispy tortilla strips, and a wonderful sauce (I found it just slightly spicy). It was more than I could finish, so it became my lunch the next day. My wife ordered a Smoked Eggplant Panini and loved it. As with me, she ate half and the rest was her dinner. She also ordered a hot chocolate (tasted great but could have been stirred better). My chai latte was delicious. Now that we've been reacquainted with this fine restaurant, we will be back more often!

Came here for an early Sunday brunch. There is seating indoors and outdoors on the back patio. Honestly I prefer the ambiance indoors. Tried the French toast ($19) which is described as saffron and honey dipped, served with warm apricots, honey-orange sauce and ricotta cheese. The apricots were on the firmer side and I think if they were grilled this would have made it perfection. The sauce was to die for! The French toast was done just right - not too dry or soggy. The ricotta was the cherry on top! Also had the huevos rancheros ($20) which were good, especially with their green salsa. Eggs done just right, fresh pico de gallo. Also, I always like when restaurants make their own salsa which they also sell. The servers were on it! Can't wait to come back here.

Homemade Buttermilk Pancakes with blueberries. Barely any maple syrup on the side

My aunt and I were looking for a brunch place in the area and stumbled upon this restaurant not knowing what to expect. We went on Wednesday and the construction was LOUD. It was hard to have a conversation even though we were face to face. Not sure how long it'll be under construction either. Food ordered: Buttermilk pancakes with Blueberry add ons (6/10): I've been having a hard time finding places that do simple blueberry pancakes so I definitely was excited when I saw that they had them. My pancakes were a decent size and had a good amount of blueberries, but tasted a bit burnt. Also they didn't give much maple syrup which I needed to hide the burnt taste. Traditional Breakfast (4/10): felt like it was a bit expensive for just toast, eggs and potatoes. It was also a small portion and nothing memorable about it. The server who took our order seemed a bit grumpy and unfriendly, but the others in the restaurant seemed very friendly and smiley.

We came here for lunch yesterday and had our favorites. My husband had their tri-tip sandwich and I had the smoked salmon with potato and celery root pancake. Everything was good but my husband never eats his pickle because is too salty and vinegary. It would be great if they bought a higher quality pickle or made their own fresh. My pancake was slightly smaller than normal but there was a good amount of greens. I did notice that the male staff yesterday were gruff and not friendly. My husband noticed the same drop in their professional reception. In the past, we were always greeted in a friendly manner but yesterday, they asked us if we were there to eat instead of welcoming us as we walked in. They need to work on their customer service skills.

My mom and I stopped here last weekend after seeing the great Yelp reviews, but we were pretty disappointed. My mom had the apricot French toast and I had the potato-celery root pancake. Neither were very good. The french toast had a very diner-y feel to it, which can be good if that's what you're expecting, but it was underwhelming upon tasting it. The potato-celery root pancake itself was good and similar to a latke or hash brown, but I did not find the smoked salmon they used to be a good pairing. The inside is cute and cozy, but the restroom is not very clean. Our service was fine but we were brought the wrong drink, which of course happens, but when he came back to check on us it seemed like he knew that he had brought me the wrong drink so it was a little confusing. Next time I'm in the area I'll probably try another breakfast spot.

This place was absolutely divine!! We got seated inside and while it was cozy, the staff were kind and the service was quick. I enjoyed my sandwich and others enjoyed the sweet toast and the biscuits. I would absolutely come back!! I do think the sandwich was the best thing any of us ordered by the way.

We stopped here on a Friday afternoon on a girls weekend trip to Sonoma for lunch. They were already out of their scone to have with my cappuccino and I opted for oatmeal, my friends order the salmon Niçoise and Chinese chicken salad. The food was great, the service was good and the setting is very inviting. Everything tasted super fresh and delicious. We will come again and try other entrees if in the area again some time soon.

After a quick Yelp search, FHL came up as a great option for brunch. Parked right in front and was seated right away on a Saturday morning. As you'll see in the video the front room, it does not appear very big and we were seated near the front window. But there is an outdoor patio in the back for more seating. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. Just a warm and inviting first impression. The wait staff was excellent. Took our orders right away and made sure my coffee was always filled. The staff was smiling and making sure all points were covered. The food was very very good. In a word, the freshness of the ingredients really shines through. I had the biscuits and gravy. It was the cleanest tasting b and g that I've ever had. The topper of vegetables added delightful dimension to this dish. My sausage was not a patty but a chicken whole sausage. Overall a clean fresh take of a greasy southern classic. I also stole a bite of the Huevos Rancheros as my son was devouring it at record rate. Again the freshness of the ingredients sang through. Overall great experience. Come check it out!

What I didn't realize at the time was the sheer pedigree behind it. It turns out Madcap is Michelin-rated, and Chef Ron Siegel is a celebrity chef. A Top Chef alum who headlined at legendary spots like The French Laundry and Michael Mina. Ironically, I didn't learn any of this from a food blog or Yelp. I heard it from my dentist in Vallejo. Talk about a random convo! As for the food, Chef Siegel's creations are pure joy--a celebration of culinary genius that feels genuinely divine. It's the kind of meal that evokes deep emotion; it really is magical. I can honestly say it's the best restaurant in Marin, Point Reyes included. Unlike the dictionary definition of "madcap" -- wildly impulsive or chaotic -- the exquisite dining experience at this Michelin-starred restaurant is anything but. My experience was calm, intentional, playful, and deeply refined. After living in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2005, I had just learned about Madcap and was thrilled to celebrate a friend's birthday there. From the moment we were greeted by Kim at the host stand -- warm, poised, and genuinely welcoming -- we felt special. Anticipation built immediately. Our four-course prix fixe menu was printed on artisanal, handmade-feeling paper -- textured, elegant, and thoughtful. With a minimalist design aesthetic, every detail serves a purpose and is beautiful in its restraint. The luxury here is subtle but palpable. Large, colorful, whimsical paintings line the walls -- one even reminded me of Jane Fonda as Barbarella. The chopsticks and flatware are distinctive and sculptural. Nothing feels accidental or unintentional. From a 15-page beverage menu, I selected a 2023 Raventós i Blanc Blanc de Blancs Cava from Conca del Riu Anoia, Catalunya. Crisp, celebratory, and the perfect opening note. If you might assume "small courses" won't satisfy, think again. I left completely full. Welcome Snacks Before the first official course, we were surprised with a small welcoming assortment. I couldn't name each component, but they were colorful, beautifully balanced, and layered in flavor and texture -- playful yet precise. A lovely crescendo into what followed. First Course Nicasio Valley egg, lemongrass spuma, pine nuts. We chose to add the optional Black Périgord truffle. When pierced with my spoon, the bright yellow yolk blended like a brushstroke into the white of the egg. The spuma (an airy, savory foam created by aerating a sauce) added a delicate citrus-herbal lift to the richness of the egg. The pine nuts brought delightful contrast texture. Oh, and that exquisite toast! Elegant and harmonious. The delicately-shaved truffle provided a heavenly mouth-feel. Second Course Winter salad, shima aji, orange olive oil or Sunchoke tortelloni, spinach, shiitake, thyme jus One companion chose the vibrant winter salad -- stunning in color and textures including shima aji, a premium Japanese fish. I chose the sunchoke tortelloni. Although I'm usually not a fan of al dente pasta, here it worked beautifully to contrast the creamy filling. The green-tinged spinach tortelloni were visually striking and balanced by the earthy shiitake and fragrant thyme jus. Third Course Mount Lassen trout, abalone & carrot risotto, lobster cream or Flannery beef ribeye, artichoke, Banyuls, black garlic We all chose the trout. The fish was executed perfectly -- caramelized, crisp exterior, yet it flaked effortlessly into large, tender pieces with the fork. The carrot risotto leaned slightly sweet for my palate, though beautifully textured. The tiny slivers of abalone, however, were surprisingly overcooked and chewy. The lobster cream had a thinner, almost broth-like consistency and didn't meaningfully elevate the dish. For reference, Banyuls (used in the ribeye preparation) is a French fortified wine like port from the Roussillon region that creates deep, slightly sweet reductions that complement richer meats. Fourth Course Shiso panna cotta, pineapple vanilla gelée. The panna cotta was softly set, cool, and subtly sweet -- a lovely, light finish. The Japanese mint herb of shiso was subtle. The crumble beneath added wonderful contrast and texture. A small piece of pineapple was firmer than expected, though the overall composition remained balanced and refreshing. With it, I had a decaf Americano. It was so smooth and flavorful I drank it black -- and enjoyed every sip. Post-dessert course We were pleasantly surprised with a pearlized white box of what appeared to be handmade confections: caramel, a sugar-dusted berry gelée, and a ganache-filled chocolate truffle. The unexpected welcome bites and post-dessert confections made the four-course prix fixe feel even more generous and thoughtfully orchestrated. Madcap is an experience of delightful visual artistry and intentional composition. The overall execution, ambiance, and hospitality created a memorable evening. P.S. While I typically eat gluten- and dairy-free, making those substitutions would have fundamentally changed the menu. For this celebratory evening, I chose not to alter the chef's composition. We visited on 2/26/26.

Penne for Your Thoughts…read more Cal-Italian restaurant in the quaint town of Larkspur that's celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year. Picco blends the best of California with locally sourced and fresh produce with classic and modern takes on Italian dining. They are also Michelin recognized, as they've been Bib Gourmand winners ('21-23) in the past, and are currently "Recommended." The Good: * Reservations via OpenTable * Free street and City-owned lots available but there are time limitations, so check the signage. * They also run a pizzeria (Pizzeria Picco) literally right next door if you'd rather have a pie than pasta. * Outdoor dog-friendly seating * Waitstaff was fantastic and friendly. * Also has a bar if you just want to come in for a drink or three. * Local brews on tap, as well as a full oeuvre of alcoholic beverages. * They're known for their changing seasonal risotto, and after one bite, it was easy to see why! It was simply fantastic, as the rice was cooked perfectly and the fresh spring flavors in ours shone. * Carissa loved her King Salmon and veggies, as the fish was cooked perfectly. I ordered a daily special with house-made pappardelle noodles and smoked beef short ribs, and while it looked like a hot mess, it was fantastic. The noodles were thick and held up well to the assertive smoke and flavor of the beef--just a perfect dish in my opinion.. The Meh: * The Polenta-Crusted Artichoke Hearts appetizer was just OK. I liked the crunch and how they tried to present them as chicken wings, but they ate a little dry and the coating needed more seasoning. Fortunately, their concomitant aioli was able to save the day. The Ugly: * Not the biggest restaurant, and with the brick walls, it can get raucous in there fairly easily, especially if a large post-wedding party shows up to the bar to get sauced. Conclusion: Fantastic spot for a date night or any other occasion with great ambiance, service, and, most importantly, food. Highly recommended.

We grabbed an early reservation on a Saturday night but we always eat early anyways so it was a win for us. The service was outstanding. And the food was excellent. I wasn't a big fan of the crispy polenta but I'm also not big on artichokes. John loved it. My salmon dish and the vegetables that came with it was so good. I couldn't stop raving about it. Larkspur is such a cute little town. Wish we had more time to explore.

Our waiter was attentive - when asked he gave his favorites - and they did not disappoint. He was "Spot On"! We started our food journey with the Crab Empanadas - followed with one of the best Sea Bass entrées we've ever had. (The fish melts in your mouth w/ a sweet Asian fusion taste). The Chocolate cake was the perfect way to end our night. A must try when you go to Tiburon! P.s. after our meal we took a stroll and enjoyed the bay views. You may want to plan that in :)

There's plenty of free parking at this Marin County highly stylized mall. The RH facility is very impressive and freestanding in the parking lot and you will witness a wonderful display of stunning home furnishings on your way to the rooftop restaurant. My wife had the SHAVED RIBEYE ON CHARRED GARLIC BREAD, Emmentaler Swiss, Cherry Peppers, with Au Jus. I've heard it referred to as the best French dip ever consumed. My dietary needs are a bit limited, but I enjoyed the CHARRED HEIRLOOM BROCCOLINI with Lemon, Garlic Confit, Calabrian Chili, and some wonderful french fries with aïoli. A wonderful Lioco Pinot Noir complimented my meal nicely. The Village in Corte Madera features top retailers to include Apple, Verizon, Williams Sonoma, Anthropology, Johnny Was, to name a few. And, of course, Nordstrom (which is the main anchor to this facility) with a wonderful assortment of high-quality merchandise and top name-brand representation featuring men's and women's footwear. Heck, there are a few showrooms of electric car brands at the Village Marin. What a welcome reprieve from the deteriorating big city retailing landscape, and so nearby! Just about 10 minutes past the Golden Gate Bridge north. Park and shop and have a wonderful dining experience at RH. The hippest thing is that there's no advertising or signage that states there's this rooftop restaurant here, you kinda have to know- and now you do! Update : return visit had a great experience again. I want to call special attention to our server, who was very gracious, kind, and efficient. Two or three sips into my lovely glass of Pinot Gris I reached for the top-heavy glass, and I broke it on the nice marble table. Without hesitation, she came and cleaned it up and brought me a complimentary refill, a totally professional move. Thank you.

Buckeye Roadhouse has such a classic, cozy vibe that immediately feels special--you can tell it's a place people come back to. First things first: make a reservation. This place is popular for a reason. The food absolutely did not disappoint. I ordered the chicken dish, and it was hands-down my favorite--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and comforting in the best way. The tuna tataki was another standout: fresh, beautifully presented, and light but satisfying. Every plate that hit the table felt thoughtful and well-executed. And then... the s'more pie. Wow. Easily one of the best desserts I've had in a long time and the perfect way to end the meal--rich, nostalgic, and totally indulgent without being overwhelming. Between the atmosphere, the service, and how solid every dish was, this place instantly went on my "come back soon" list. Already planning to return for a date night because it just has that romantic, timeless feel. Highly recommend if you're looking for great food, a polished experience, and a spot that feels like a treat every time.
