Our favorite was the sausage, gave 3 and they were much hardier than the bacon. Eggs were great for dipping the pancake and sausage in. Waffle was crispy. Pancakes were decadent and very filling. They gave lots of butter and the house made maple syrup was a nice touch. Probably wouldn't be back though as it was good but not awesome. Service was nice! This place was pretty good but the prices are pretty high. I got the ham Eggs Benedict. The ham was really thick which was great. Since there is seating inside and outside the servers come in and out every couple minutes. One of the servers kept using the bottom of her shoe to open the handle of the door handle and kick the door open every time she went outside (hands were full). One of my favorites spot to come to visit Novato to eat delicious and amazing food here. Honestly it's my favorite place to go. It gets packed so try to get there before the rush hour which is 9am starting but the service is great! So friendly and welcoming. I see why the ratings are so high... I got a chicken Caesar salad salad for lunch. Maybe not the most common option at a breakfast place, but I wanted something with lean protein. And I have to say this is one of the best Caesar salad salads that I've ever had. Not only do they give you a generous amount, but the chicken is absolutely delicious. Properly grilled and prepared. Our of all the places for breakfast in the downtown area, it seemed like this place was the most popular. I loved this small family joint serving diner style food. We ordered the cornish beef, which was amazing and the chicken fried steak. This was great and the portion sizes were amazing. The food also came out really hot. It is a cramped joint but we loved the vibe inside and the decor. My only knock was that the hash browns were not that crispy. Also, the price was pretty high for a diner joint, but we were happy to support a family business. The servers worked super hard and were all extremely friendly. This is a good solid American breakfast joint, where locals come every weekend. Expect a wait. We usually order the tuna melt here and accompany it with a bowl of chili. They give a hefty amount of perfectly cooked fresh spinach which leaves such a clean aftertaste. Hubby's Huevos Rancheros was one of the best he's ever had. The bathrooms are snug in the back through the kitchen. Plenty of street parking & they leave out chairs to sit on while waiting. Walked inside and it was busy--- so I liked the outdoor seating better. The menu has your traditional breakfast items. I liked the bread for the French toast option. It was better than a plain white bread. The eggs were fluffy and tasty. The bacon was a bit crispy for my taste but I just know to say something for the next order. As soon as one opened up, they must've changed their mind somewhere along the way. Instead of giving us the table as the woman told us, they sat down another group of 3 who they claimed had been waiting 20 mins...if they were waiting 20 mins and we hadn't even placed our order yet, that speaks more towards your terrible customer service than anything. Happy we walked out. Had a lovely breakfast just down the street. Don't tell your patrons one thing and then change your mind when it gets busy. I met a friend for breakfast in the middle of the week, and we were able to get seated outside quickly which was shocking because the place was packed! We were immediately greeted and given a table. The service was great. The waiter/waitresses were very attentive. I give 4 stars for that. However, the reason I am giving 3 stars is because of the food quality. I got biscuits and gravy, potato's, and bacon. The bacon tasted great. The potato's were cooked great however, were overpowered with rosemary and no other seasoning. My biscuits and gravy tasted water/milky. Not a good gravy. The chorizo burrito was mediocre. It was good, but tasted like something you can get anywhere else. If I came here again I would not get the potato's and biscuit and gravy. Truth be known, we've only been there for breakfast so far, but if breakfast is any indication their lunches will be good. My breakfast of choice is corned beef hash and eggs. They make their own here - nothing out of a can. So major points there. If the partner has any complaints is that they are a bit too generous with the cheese in their omelettes. (He now knows to ask for less or a substitution.) It's a small spot, so either get there early or plan to wait. Prices are very reasonable.
