I attempted another visit this morning. I ordered the French toast and eggs plate. The eggs were totally overcooked even after mentioning do not overcook the eggs. This has been an ongoing problem at this location. When the food arrived the sausage had a hair on it. The restaurant did replace the sausage with fresh. Several years ago, this location was our introduction to Farmer Boys. We live in Arizona but look forward to our trips to El Centro for fairs and festivals or just as a stopover on the way to San Diego so we can head back in for some great food and service. Every visit has been terrific. Fantastic burgers and fries, salads, omelettes, and many other options. Their app is simple and easy to use for rewards. Haven't tried it for ordering yet. They have a nice spacious indoor eating area and a drive-thru as well. We even visited when things were shut down due to Covid-19 restrictions. We would take our food to go and eat it out in their parking lot under the shade of a nearby tree. We have also visited a location in Bakersfield and now have one in Gilbert, AZ that's not far from our house, but we always look forward to our return trips to this one on Cruickshank Drive. Amazing food! I had the Hog Heaven Burrito and it was the best breakfast burrito I've ever had! The ingredients were evenly mixed in so each bite had a mixture of all ingredients. A+++. When I asked about salsa, since they didn't have salsa, the server offered jalapeños and brought two containers. My husband had the 3 egg breakfast and a breakfast sandwich, both with sausage. He usually orders extra butter for his toast and didn't, but the toast had enough butter! He said the only thing wrong was the hash browns were a little undercooked. Otherwise he loved his food! A+ We both live in Wilhoit, Arizona now (19 miles downhill from Prescott, AZ) and had never heard of Farmer Boys! We were very impressed with the quality, price, taste and portions. The restaurant was very clean and the servers were very professional and friendly. The only thing that could have been better was if there was a server checking coffee and drinks for refills. I don't even know where to begin. It took 30 mins for us to get our order and when it finally arrives, we were super disappointed. First off, the onions rings are a 4PC for $4.69 - yup, over a dollar an onion ring! But we would have overlooked the crazy price tag if they were actually good. Instead they arrived cold and raw with very little batter (see photo). Secondly, I ordered the sourdough chicken avocado sandwich that came with bacon, cheese, lettuce & tomato. What I got was a huge piece of chicken breast (impossible to eat in sandwich form), lettuce, tomato and a bunch of mayo. It was really not appetizing and was served as appears on photo (sorry, for the mess on the plate, I tried my bf's burger which was not great either) Manager was nice and offered to replace our food and give refund, but I just wanted to get out of there. This is a little different from a traditional sit down restaurant. You order when you walk in, huge wall menu, delicious options. And pay. Then sit. But then they bring your food and walk around offering coffee and take your plates. The wait staff was super friendly. I was greeted at the door. They suggested a few options at our request since it was our first visit. The manager was really nice. My clam chowder was full of clams, and thick, not runny (my favorite way to eat) and the fries were crispy as stated. We'll totally be back. I hope we get one in Arizona too. read more

This location in El Centro is very popular with the locals. Staff does a good job taking care of their customers. Kitchen made us a coupe of good burgers and amazing zucchini. If they would have attempted to clean the table tops after customer were finished I would give them 5 Stars. We were there for about 30-40 minutes with customers leaving and disposing their trash . But again, no one in the time we were there though wiping off the tables was needed. Us as well as the people who sat down around us was doing their best to clean the tables for themselves. We ordered fish & chips and a patty melt. The fish was pretty good though the ends were not coated as the rest. They looked like actual fish with one end the shape of a tail. Not sure what kind it was but it would be a small fry. The patty melt was a bit greasy but very good. I should have looked at the calorie and fat could before ordering. Tons of fat. 65 grams is seriously high. Chatting with others, the chicken and salads are tasty, as well-though high in calories, as well. I would recommend Farmer Boys, if you aren't watching calories or fat. It's not like I don't enjoy a splurge but the cost for this food, I'm not sure it's worth it for me. read more

If you're looking to satisfy more health conscious quick-bite options and you're in the area of a Farmer's Boys restaurant, then yep do give it a try. The ingredients are farm fresh - really and the Cobb Salad I ordered was literally huge! I think this is what "the Big Salad" which was a television icon from the hit comedy series - Seinfield was modeled after! So many great ingredients and all very fresh and flavorful, definitely worth the price and plenty to reserve for another meal without question. My dining partner ordered the Big Cheeseburger but opted to leave the farm behind, well that means no produce. The beef was fresh and the French fried potatoes were crispy and hot and really tasted fresh! The restaurant was packed at lunchtime but the wait time really was very short. The staff at the restaurant was very friendly and you can see why the place is so popular with the locals. My only reason for dinging the restaurant 1* from 4*'s was due to the men's restroom. The water pressure at the sink was just above a trickle and NO hot water! Let alone is it an inconvenience for any restaurant's customers but how in the heck are the employees able to get their hands clean afterwards? It's not my intention to report such a finding at any restaurant, but it's certainly not the first time I've encountered this but every so often it does occur and I'd really like to see restaurant owners really make it a point to provide their patrons and employees with the equipment to properly adhere to proper hygiene, especially when handling food. read more

The food here is soooo good !! Especially the burgers but not once and not twice but three times in a row did they mess up my order ! First time asked for a ham, bacon, and cheese omelette and got no bacon and the Second time asked for a Big cheese with no onion and with lettuce, they gave no lettuce and added onion.. Third time time asked for a 1/2lb parmesan crusted sourdough cheeseburger with only the cheese bacon and lettuce and First of all it wasn't even parmesan crusted ??? I can only comment on the ElCentro Farmer Boys and don't know how much this applies to other locations, but in our opinion the quality of the food here has deteriorated noticeably in the last few months. Tonight we ordered a lettuce wrap bacon avocado burger for my wife. It was close to inedible. The bacon was undercooked and the burger patty was o overdone all she could taste was "char." A few nights ago I ordered the 3 piece fish & fries. This has been a go to meal since the beginning of the pandemic. The fish used to be moist and tasty and size of the pieces were generous. This last time the fish was dry and small. Had the consistency of cardboard. I know they changed their fish provider because we used to be able to order the fish for my wife who is gluten sensitive and they could fry it without batter. Last time we tried to order it that way we were told it's no longer possible because the fish is now supplied pre-battered. I hope these failings are temporary because we did like Farmer Boys and as retirees would eat there frequently, but I'm afraid that little or nothing will be done to remedy the situation. read more

HORRIBLE MANAGER! I like the food, which was why I put up with the horrible service. After this incident, even the food won't be bringing me back. I walked in and ordered 2 southwest chicken salads like I usually do. Andrew was friendly and took my order. I also redeemed 30 points for an order of fries. Then I redeemed a second order of fries using 30 more points. I received my to go order and continued to drive home while my wife and I ate our fries on the road. We live at least about 30 minutes away. So when we get home we go to get our salads and see 2 hamburgers in the bag which I didn't notice on the way home because I just grabbed the fries that were placed on the top of the bag. I immediately called Farmer Boys, and Andrew answered the phone, and he immediately knew what had happened and admitted that the wrong order was given to me. He offered to have me come back, and they would replace the order. I informed him that I live far away and I can't spend an hour driving round trip to have them replace the order. I also informed him that I am deathly allergic to red meat and can not eat these hamburgers. So I politely asked for a refund. He put me on a brief hold while he went and explained the situation to the manager. She gets on the phone and was super rude from the instant she did. She said, "So you want a refund." I said yes because of the fact that I live so far away, I'm allergic to red meat, and you admit to giving me the wrong order. She said, "Well, since you have possession of the wrong order that we gave you, I won't be giving you a refund." I was blown away. I was expecting her to be professional and give me the refund, and I would just continue to be a happy paying customer going forward. Even if I did spend an hour round trip driving all the way back there so they could replace my order, they would have thrown the old order away in the trash. I informed her that I will just have to call my bank and dispute the charge and get my money back that way and informed her that not only will I indeed get my money back, but the franchise owner will incur a separate fee for the chargeback. She said, "That's fine, I don't care." I also informed her that I will be calling corporate, and she said go ahead, I dont care. I asked her for her name, and then she hung up on me. My wife heard the whole call as I had it on speaker phone. She was like, "That was the manager?" That's unbelievable how unprofessional and rude she was. We were both in absolute shock! So I called back and nobody answered. So I called back again from my other line and an employee answered, and I asked to speak to the manager. The young girl said she's in the back doing paperwork. I asked what her what her managers name was, and she said I don't really know. I think it's Perla or something. It was very evident that the manager was now coaching the employees not to disclose information and cover up for the managers' unprofessional behavior. Then, the employee stated that the manager was gone. I said you just told me she was in the back office doing paperwork, and now you're telling me she is gone? What a horrible manager and a horrible representation of Farmer Boys. This could've been easily resolved with a refund, and I would've continued to be a faithful repeat paying customer. I had to get in my car and go to the nearest place on the corner here to eat dinner for the evening. I brought the 2 hamburgers with me and gave them to the homeless woman in the back of the restaurant. It took about 10 minutes to get our food then they dropped it before they could serve us. So we had to wait again, then when the food came my boy had a piece of hair in his butter. This is never a problem at any of the dozen or so FBs around the country I have been to, including, until today, this one.
