A few years ago, I went to the DMV to renew the tags of a family member's car. After a pair of…read morehours of waiting, they attended me but wouldn't allow me to renew the tags because the insurance card didn't have correct VIN. I called Bill Brain Insurance for them to correct the error and email me a copy of the corrected insurance card. After one hour of waiting, I called to ask them, "why they were taking too long?". They claimed that they forgot about me. I ask once again and told them it's been three hours that I've been in DMV. After another 30 minutes pass by, I called them again, and they said they sent it another email because they claimed that I mispronounce the word "outlook" to "outluk". After ask them to fix the error and email the corrected insurance card, in an agitated tone. They told me to "drop my attitude or they will hang up", I ask again "politely", to their request. After another 30 minutes, they finally email the corrected insurance card. I left a negative one star review, explaining the whole situation, on google map. Today, I went to check on my review, with them, but I couldn't find my review. So, I left another one star review with brief negative review. Now, I have reason to believe that they search my name in their system and manage to find out who I was related to. An agent, Sonia, called my relative and ask them to tell me to call them about the reasoning behind the negative review. I don't believe their action, of searching me in state system, was legal. Especially, for the purpose of removing a bad review.

I called them again and I guess she previously hadn't even called them because she called me the 2nd day after letting her know the situation and she said they would barely refund me within a week. They charged us a one-time broker's fee, but have returned that investment a hundred fold in reduced insurance costs over the last 2 decades. They are not suitable for 'hit and run' clients. Traci (Nicoll) Martin and Tesa Michael trace their roots to the Coachella Valley far longer than we have been satisfied customers. Over they years, we have come to respect them as they do a difficult job. Thanks to their comparison shopping, we have the lowest insurance rates of all our friends. Being defensive drivers does help, but a lot of the credit goes to their shopping efforts. With the money we saved, my Wife bought a 2024 vehicle at a local car dealership last month (plus 20+ years of saving). Traci fielded my surprise call while I was at the dealership, went the extra mile to call her contacts as the vehicle wasn't in their computer systems, and my Wife drove off the lot, fully insured in a matter of an hour. Service like that in 2023? I mean, who does that? But you must learn to be patient, and build up a relationship of trust with your insurance agent. Looking at Yelp, I see most people use it to bash Insurance Agencies. 23 years of no accidents, and we have the lowest insurance rates in town. What's not to like? If you are an aggressive driver, do not go to ALL DESERT. If you are a patient, defensive driver with no accidents - like us - and want the lowest rates because you don't use (or abuse) the insurance system - this is the place for you. Mills was taken over by Acrisure and you will receive no customer service. In the event of a claim you are in trouble. My claim has been going on for 4 months. (prior to the tropical storm) In the last 2 years Mills changed my insurance carrier to Mercury Insurance. Do not insure with Mercury. They have the worst reputation for claims. They are deceitful and try every tactic to not pay on portions of your claim. I now may be forced to hire a private adjuster. Look at the time of the other reviews. Mills is not what is was 10 years ago.
