This place has grown on me over the years. This incarnation is relaxing, local and crunchy. It is hipster without being intimidating or pretentious. What a great surprise!!! This place is fantastic. Unique menu, chill atmosphere and fresh food. We each had a CBC (see photo) - which is basically chicken BLT. The chicken was warm, bread was fresh toasted, and lettuce / tomato was crisp and fresh. Only planned to eat half because it's a large sandwich, but was so good I had to finish it off! Comes with a tasty little chick pea salad in a mini mason jar. We also split a double chocolate muffin - was served warm with powdered sugar and fresh cool whip on the side; and fresh strawberry garnish. They (and other pastry offerings) are displayed in a plastic case by the register, but don't let that mislead you into thinking it's a generic pastry wrapped in plastic...when it comes out for sit down dining, it's as described. Really good!!! Nice local art work for sake on the walls. Tables, high tops and sofas are options to sit. Also coffee, lattes, cafe con leche, teas etc. Staff was friendly as well. Highly recommend City Bistro. We will be back on our next stop to St Augustine. read more

The coffee is pretty good but nothing to write home about. The food is really the selling point for me. Everything is presented to beautifully and with great care! The smoked salmon bagel is SO good. They use the best asiago bagels, awesome toppings, and tons of salmon. read more

I was asked to pull up my mask because it falls from my nose when I talk. I have no problem with that. As we ate I watched 3 different workers and kitchen staff walk around with either no mask or half pulled down while we ate. There are only a few tables open to sit at but weren't cleaned between users. Makes no sense with trying to be clean with COVID. I tipped in advance and no one asked if we needed anything the entire time. I went to ask for a Togo box and forgot my mask, she immediately said something. Again, my fault. Not even 2 minutes later saw another worker without a mask walk around and to the bathroom. I was just really looking forward to eating here. I regret tipping, vacations get expensive and I expect some sort of service when I tip. Again, food was decent. Okay, we decided to give them a try again. They were actually here this time. We arrived at 8:15am on a Saturday morning in April 2017. I ordered a skinny mocha with an extra shot. It was really good and just what I was looking for on this sluggish morning. We also had great conversation with one of the baristas while waiting on our order. He was very friendly. It has been a long time since we were in here. The decor has changed and is more relaxing with darker neutrals. Of close, there's still colorful art on the walls. We will be back. Great stop for breakfast or lunch. Great selection and a great selection of coffee options. Flavored sugar cubes were a big hit and I don't ordinarily add sugar to my coffee but I had to try them. I opted for the Hobbit wich is a portobello sandwich with brie cheese and arugula. I was not dissapointed. Grilled perfectly and so tasty. I will return agaim and again. Stopped in here for a lite dinner of soup and tea. I was so pleasantly surprised at how fresh and delicious it was. Everything was artisanal and with a personal touch, even their handmade sugar cubes with unique flavors like elder flower, rum and vanilla. The tall, cutedark haired guy who greeted us, took our order and served us was also very friendly, funny and helpful. Also known as City Bistro, this is probably of the best kept secret in Saint Augustine. We discovered this place a few months ago and each time we come up from Delray Beach this is our "go to" place. The food never disappoints. The service is good. The ambience is great. Resident guitarist, Paddy Murphy, soothes the soul whilst you enjoy your meal. We tend to support them breakfast but they do a great dinner with fresh beef and fish daily after 3. You must experience this place. read more

My love of coffee always drives me to local coffee shops when I'm traveling. I stayed in a hotel within walking distance, so I figured checking this place out to start my morning could be bad, right? Wrong. First off, the inside is dark, like dive bar dark. Not really a good look for a coffee shop. Then there are no employees at the counter, so I wait a few minutes until one finally comes out. One seemed like she was training, she was really nice. The one that was showing the other what to do on the register, she had the personality of a bathmat. I order an iced Americano, then proceed to watch what I, and any coffee lover, would call a travesty. The bland personality girl pours espresso shots that have been sitting in a pitcher over ice, runs water from the faucet over that, then puts a lid on and hands it to me. Anyone that knows shit about coffee knows espresso shots need to be ground and pulled per order. I wouldn't give a stale old espresso shot to my worst enemy. And the shots in that pitcher could've been from 2 minutes prior or an hour prior, I have no idea. I do know that it tastes like thou: Pure. Bitter. Shit. Three sips of pure disgust and I tossed it. Learn how to make drinks, please, for the sake of all us coffee lovers that are on vacation in your town. read more

I am not a huge fan of the coffee here, the iced coffee is fine but the Americano my girlfriend ordered was watery, flat, and unappetizing. I think if the owner was more hospitable and less worried about getting you out of his way and focused on a smaller variety of menu items this would be a much nicer place. First time visitors to this local and innovative coffee/tea house. Atmosphere was clean, country like setting with a unique twist on a bakery. This is not your typical diner. This establishment is five steps above Starbucks and Dunkin. Friendly and warm staff that make you feel welcomed from the moment you walk in. We highly recommend the blueberry muffin, jasmine citrus tea and a plain latte that you can use one of the many flavored sugar cubes and different choice of creams. They also sell a small selection of pantry items. Jelly and jams, different butters, pickled items, and locally brewed beer. If I had more than 2 thumbs to put up, they would get them all. read more

this place sells joe, but they don't have any MOJJOOOOOO I think the owner is the one who makes the coffe, and he doesn't make it with any love. You can always taste when food was made with care. So this place would be a lot better if he learns, or hires a good barista. Free wi-fi and comfy couches are good, but if it had good coffee and other tasty drinks, it would be complete. Love their cold brew, I usually just come in to get that. Today my husband and I decided to try breakfast. It was great. I got the sandwich which was just right for me as I'm not a big eater in the morning. My husband got the wrap, there was a good bit more food, too much for me. Wish I had taken a picture.
