Farmhaus is now one of my favorite spots to visit while I'm downtown Augusta. For me personally, the quality is worth the price. They specialize primarily in burgers, and any that I've had has been great. Their turkey burgers are great as well. Until my last visit, I never knew how great the Farmhaus bar was. First I tried a few of their cocktails which were great, but the real stars of the show here are the boozy shakes. The idea of a milkshake with alcohol in it gave me cause to pause at first, but boyyyyyy are they good. The nana pudding boozy shake will have you back there the next day. Our first time at FHB - I echo the pricey comments but the ingredients make the meal and for my wife and I we split the organic turkey on organic whole wheat. Turkey burger was juicy and cooked right. The bun was plump not overly sweet and held up well. The bun had a sheen -maybe a butter spray or light oil it seemed coated the top. We ate here for lunch on a Saturday after walking the Augusta Market. Not bad but I know the Stilton burger across the street at Boar's Head English Pub or a block down at Whiskey surpass the FH Burger at a lower price point. But again this is deliberately local sourced restaurant farm to table and with better ingredients. One thing when a person walks int eh door you notice the simplicity of the decor. Garage/barn fusion and you place your order at the counter. A server bring it out to you on an aluminum paper lined tray. For two of us splitting the burger and large salad with two low cal beers our tab came to $27.00. I hear the lamb burger is very good and would try that the next tiem I'm downtown. read more

I LOVE Farmhaus! It has added such a great, different dimension to downtown Augusta, and it is a dimension I can get behind! I don't eat red meat so the fact that they have a turkey burger (a delicious, flavorful, juicy turkey burger), and several chicken options as well as vegetarian if I should choose to go that far. Everything I have tried has been delicious there. Let me tell you about building a burger. They KNOW what you mean when you ask for things. Ever since the first time I walked in the door I have asked for "double pickles" and they have not disappointed. The kitchen staff at Farmhaus knows that double pickles means a layer of pickles above the patty, and a whole other layer of pickles below the patty! That alone makes my heart happy. I imagine they know exactly how much of every add on to put onto the burgers. I never have too little or too much of anything I've asked for. I've tried their sweet potato tots and they're good... but once I had the regular french fries with feta sauce, it was over for me. I could drink the feta sauce and regularly threaten to do so if someone doesn't use all of their sauce. It is SO yummy and light, and not at all like putting a mayo or a ranch dressing on your fries. It is just cheesy and tart, and a little peppery, and yogurt-based. I love it. I have yet to try a boozy milkshake, cause I tend to go there for lunch and booze and lunch don't usually mix for me. But one day I will try them because every time I see one go by me, I get a little jealous. Farmhaus should stay in Augusta forever, casual attitude, great staff, and awesome food! read more

I love this place... the ambiance, the music, the service and the food. In short, I almost cried tears of joy and fullness. I came in by myself and went all out! I ordered the gorilla milk - boozy shake, Wild Turkey with bacon - turkey burger, and a side of fries. The Boozy Shake was outstanding! Gorrilla Milk is a vanilla milkshake with tequila, vodka, and kahlua. It was dangerously delicious and not as scary as it sounds. It was the perfect blend of frappe/booze. I accompanied my boozy shake with their crispy/haus cut fries... Yummy! Then the red carpet rolled out for my main meal.. The Wild Turkey.. This burger won the show! It was plentiful, juicy, and the pickled onions gave the Wild Turkey a crazy punch of flavor. I don't even like mayo but I think the Siracha Mayo may have changed my mind! The good: solid sweet potato tots, decently priced beer and nice enough service The bad: stupidly overpriced burgers...$9+tax for a just a burger (nothing else). Unless it's made from Kobe beef or something special (big surprise: it's not), it's not worth it. The ugly: my burger had that funky taste to it like some of the others have complained about. Really, should have been better...couldn't have been much worse. We were at the nearby SRBC having a delicious pint of our favorite IPAs and decided take out dinner was in order. We ordered the "veggie" burgers with fixings, fries and onion rings. Order was to be ready by 7 pm and was there promptly at 7 pm to pick up order. Oddly, the burgers were ready to go, but the fries & rings were on hold until I got there...so, the burgers were sitting under heat lamps and would continue to sit under heat lamps until the fries were done. Now the nice manager explained that they don't drop the fries until the person shows up for the order...not explained when ordering. It would be approximately 10 minutes for the fries and rings. As explained, they do this "...because of complaints about cold fries." I express my general concerns for the burgers, but was explained that the burgers can "handle" being under the heat lamps better than the fries...no doubt is true, but the nice crisp lettuce, tomato, and onion would be now mushy after being in the heat lamp for 20 minutes. Great news, they finished the fries and rings in only 7 min and I was out the door. SRBC is only a 5 min drive away...we opened the take out bag and as any good burger eater does, we dove into the fries and rings. Wait...didn't they just drop the fries and therefore they should be smoking hot and fresh. Nope...fries were cold and old...you know, that old where you find a bonus fry in the bottom of yesterday's takeout bag? Rings were great...I'd order those again, smoking hot and made fresh to order, obviously. Wait, what about the house made "veggie" burgers? Horrible...a gluttonous mass of over done quinoa...soggy with no crispness. With the advent of the impossible burger and black bean burgers, scrap the wet, soggy house made for a professionally made veggie burger. Now...what we have minimally learned from our experience...never, never get takeout from Farmhaus....if you want the best fries in Augusta, walk a couple blocks to the sister restaurant - Frog Hollow Tavern. Found this place on Yelp when searching for gluten free options in the Augusta area. Interesting menu here, a ton of burgers, a few dogs, a couple salads and plenty of beverages. Our crew tested out three burgers and a chili cheese dog. Gluten free hamburger and hot dog buns were made by Pure Knead in Atlanta and were delicious, soft and light (rare for GF bread because most are very dry and dense). Fries can be made to be gluten free, but sweet potato tater tots (yum! And dad approved!) are not. Note that they are closed on Sunday and Monday, so plan ahead for this stop! read more

Great fries first time soggy fries second time. Good burger. One great staff member one very disinterested staff member. Was refused a medium cooked burger. The reason was,"We can only cook the special well done" so I got two medium rare house burgers. I asked why I couldn't get the special medium and I was told," they like to do things their own way". Its like opposite Burger King. My medium rare burgers were cooked well done. Really good burgers. High quality ingredients. Friendly and accomodating staff. Clean, well-decorated restaurant. I've been here three times and ordered three different burgers (Haus burger, B&B burger, Wild Turkey) and they were all very good. I also had a bite of my wife's andouille sausage dog and it was very tasty. The first time I tried the fries I thought they were average but the last time I had them they were seasoned with cracked pepper and were much better. They also have milkshakes, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I have not had one of their alcoholic shakes yet but the oreo shake was incredible. read more

This place is awesome! Their menu is mostly local and organic. It's very refreshing to have this sort of restaurant in town. The service has been great. The staff is very friendly and always smiling. It's always clean, and upbeat. They serve ginger beer!! It's our favorite spot, and we can't stay away! My favorite on the menu is the turkey burger. Honestly, I dream about the pickled onions and I wish I had the recipe!! My boyfriend and I visit frequently, and I took my father there to eat once and we had a great time. This is, hands down, my favorite downtown restaurant. I have loved everything that I've ever ordered here. The Farmhaus Burger is amazing. The onion rings and fried pickles are out of this world. Their boozy milkshakes are a huge draw. Everything is delicious and I have never heard a single complaint about the restaurant. I take everyone here. It's trendy, clean, minimalistic, and the food is high quality and sustainable, and everything is cooked to order. Sometimes people will bring their kids, but this isn't what one might consider a "family restaurant" which, as someone who is not a parent, I find to be relaxing. It's not loud or chaotic. read more

The food is decent, my biggest complaint are the buns. The white and wheat buns cannot hold up to the burger, and as a result end up falling apart and creating a big mess. For a $10 burger I'd expect better quality, way more grease than expected which typically means higher fat beef. The 4 burgers we got were not bad, but I've definitely had better. The onion rings, fries, and sweet potato tots were nothing special. The sweet potato tots are way different than I've ever had before. Think fried Mac and Cheese balls but with sweet potato. Took the wife and the babies here for our weekly "family day lunches" and it definitely did not disappoint. My family (thanks to my persistent wife) eats 100% clean, 85% of the time; so Farmhaus was a great choice with plenty of options to make our meal "our own". The food is made fresh to order so be patient, it's worth it. The staff is friendly, helpful and laid-back. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed. Farmhaus Burger is where I take any young carnivore that is new to town. I love the Vibe and they seem to like the coolness factor. The look ( I hear) was the collaboration of an in town marketing company and the owners. The bar and bar offerings are very contemporary. they even offer ice cream adult beverages. As for the food, the chicken sandwich is my favorite and the homemade sweet potato tots are fun. Those fries- oh my! Hand cut. nice caramel color. tasty. The burgers are ....supposed to be locally sourced. I think that is correct. Out of 10 visits, only one not so great one, My husband always has the burger and he said they are awesome! The staff is super. Very friendly, very accommodating. All said, this place is really wonderful and we are lucky to have something so close to farm to table in our town. In case Farmhaus reads this and the food genie is into granting wishes -I wish to have a weekly doorbuster burger w/fry or 1/2 order tot combo special, Something in the $6 range (excluding beverage). Students who love this place are sometimes a bit cash poor and could use a break...(last wish) Carnivores and herbivores sometimes travel together. Any chef who can dream up a home-made sweet tater tot can infuse some more veggies our way. I understand not wanting to jump on the Zalad scene, but local seasonal veggies by the brimming full cup..say in the $3 range per serving... would be nice. I really wanted to sink my teeth into a quality hamburger. I wasn't disappointed. It's the beef that's most important, and the Farmhaus beef was juicy, very tender, and a joy to consume. Add a good quality bun, tomato, lettuce, pickles, and mustard and a little ketchup, and I was in burger heaven. The food is pretty good, and they are fairly quick about serving it up. They are very generous with fries - one order is easily enough for two people. It's a little steep for burgers and fries. Not crazy expensive, though; I wouldn't go that far. It's a younger, "hipper" crowd, certainly, than I've belonged among in a very long time, so the atmosphere is somewhat more rarified than I would naturally seek out, but maybe it's just the place for you. My dollar, though, is better spent at The Sports Center down the road. The food is less expensive and at least as good as Farmhaus. And nobody in Sports Center is working on a novel or taking too many classes this semester. read more
