While in town for a graduation and staying just down the road on Washington Rd., I decided to stop by Pho Viet Augusta for an early dinner around 5pm on a Friday. After browsing their menu online, I called in a to-go order and headed over. The restaurant wasn't too busy when I arrived, which made for a smooth pickup experience. The entire staff was incredibly welcoming, and multiple people checked to make sure I had been helped while I waited for my food. The dining area was clean, spacious, and had a relaxed atmosphere that made me wish I had more time to dine in. Their menu is packed with options, pho, traditional Vietnamese dishes, seafood, vegetarian choices, honestly, narrowing it down was the hardest part of the visit. I was looking for something lighter without a mountain of noodles or rice, so I ordered the Seafood Stir Fry. This was easily one of the freshest and most flavorful Vietnamese meals I've had in a long time. The bowl was loaded with crisp vegetables and plenty of seafood, all perfectly seasoned and cooked. It came with rice on the side, but the portion was so generous and satisfying that I barely touched it. The prices were reasonable, the portions were large, and the service was excellent from start to finish. If you're in the Augusta area and craving flavorful, fresh Vietnamese food, Pho Viet Augusta absolutely deserves a spot on your restaurant list. read more

I would have to say personally, this is one of the best restaurants vietnamese places in the c CSRA area.You see, it's not often that I do go out.For vietnamese food, but I eat wanted something different that day.And I decided to try this place out. It was really easy to order. No problem, a lot of people were there. But they were eating in. There were so many choices on the menu, but eventually, I wanted to try the Mongolian beef stir fry, the hot Green Tea, and the sesame balls and I can tell you it's an excellent combination, but the sesame bowls are more of an acquired taste for me. I see nothing but success for this new restaurant. It is an open air-styled restaurant ... very clean, bright, and decorated nicely with Vietnamese artwork. My husband and I were greeted with friendly smiles and seated immediately. The place started filling up quickly (Saturday evening 5:00pm). Like good restaurants our waiter made sure we were satisfied with everything by checking on us. The meal was delicioussss as well. I had the plain noodle phó (veggies only), hubby had the steak phó and egg rolls. We dined while soft spa background music played. I wish this new business the very best. My parents were visiting from NJ, so pho noodles being one of their favorite dishes, we decided to check out Pho Viet. We tried out the Pho Viet in Columbia, SC and because they enjoyed it years back, we had to try out the one in Augusta. We all got the basic steak pho with grilled pork spring rolls for appetizers. They have two variations of the pork spring rolls, one of which is a patty form, which I was told is more like pork spam texture. The pho bowls come in small or large sizes and with the option for additional meat for $5. The broth wasn't salty or overly oily, but really good. I typically don't sip on the broth afterwards, but I enjoyed it here. Could give more noodles, I think the noodle portion was more towards the small size for a large bowl, but definitely generous amounts of beef. Their green tea is soothing and perfect combination with the beef bowls. We asked for additional bean sprouts and jalapeños; they definitely were generous with the portions. Overall a solid 4 star experience and if you're a pho person, I highly recommend trying this place out. The rumors (and reviews) are true. This is THE place for pho in Augusta! My first visit was one of legends. I had gone almost 24 hours without eating in anticipation of this meal. I went down every section of the menu and ordered at least two items from each. Noods, spring rolls, stir fry, Thai tea, I was all in. The table was full...and yes, I was there solo. Sure, I could simply mention how delicious it all was. Maybe add on that the texture for each item was perfection. And also that the flavors and aromatics of each were fresh, balanced, crisp, and authentic. But I fear doing so would only be interpreted as hyperbole. When in reality, it is a understatement. The local Vietnamese place has a chay (vegetarian) menu, which didn't offer everything I might have hoped (oddly, none of the noodle salads the cuisine is known for), but had plenty enough to merit a visit from me. It didn't have a ton of atmosphere as it looked like a converted fast food joint, though readers probably will have a better experience than the mayhem of rambunctious children (it seemed like one of them was about raise an army over a lost crayon). The summer rolls I ended up with were a standard but effective appetizer. My lemongrass and chili tofu was breaded and fried. I should feel ashamed to say this, but I eat here at least once a week. I've tried all the pho places. I usually choose between this place and Banh Mi Dang. The service here is always excellent. The pho is always consistently the same. The restaurant is always clean. My recommendations: meatball pho, seafood pho, egg rolls, spring rolls, steak bites fried rice, any lemongrass stir fry (I usually get the fish one). Also, the Thai tea... you won't find a better one in Augusta. Not even the boba tea places can compare to them on their Thai tea. If you like Vietnamese food you will not be disappointed. read more

I am so glad we decided to give a different pho place a go. We ordered the same meal, p1, that I would've anywhere. It tasted great, flavorful broth, food/drink came out quickly. Servers were all very nice! Inside is clean and tables moved quickly. I watched several people pick up to go orders while we were eating and the staff had a good handle on making that all a fast process as well. Thai tea was as expected. The prices on the menu have maybe raised $1 from what I saw on here before I went. This was expected and the meal was honestly still a very decent price for the amount of food and quality. Wanted to write an updated review for this place. The service is a lot faster and more streamlined than the first time I came here when they just opened. The food is pretty standard compared to what I'm used to in the metro-Atlanta/Duluth area, which is amazing that we can get good quality pho here now in Augusta. My friends and I enjoy coming here after a week of classes and work. I often get the house special pho. On other occasions, I've gotten the vermicelli with pork and the stir-fried flat noodles. Good Vietnamese food (given the fact that it's in Augusta) for reasonable prices. Docked a star because the flavor just isn't quite there for me. Tried their pho with eye round steak and brisket the first time I was here (I think during their grand opening special) and the broth was just ok. Acceptable and enjoyable, but not the best pho broth I've tasted. The second and most recent time I was here, I got the fried egg noodles with mixed protein (beef and shrimp). The presentation was astonishing, and the noodles were delightfully crispy. Not a dish you'd be able to take out/get delivered very easily without sacrificing quality, but it was wonderfully executed when being served dine-in. The flavor on this, while still tasty, was a bit mild/lacking compared to the same dish I have ordered at other places in the metro Atlanta area. Both times I paid this place a visit (around 3-5pm), they were out of sesame balls. I think it's because they only make a batch when they open and don't make any more unless someone makes a large order that warrants them making a batch. I think they mentioned that they make 12 or 20 at a time. Understandable that they don't want to waste resources. Overall a decent place worth visiting to satisfy your craving for Vietnamese food, or if you're looking to try it for the first time. I think this is one of the better representations of Vietnamese food in the CSRA. I haven't tried most of their menu, and I do see myself coming here again to try more of their offerings and hopefully snag some sesame balls in the process. read more

Wanted to find a place that could mildly reduce any pho cravings I get between trips to Houston and my expectations were definitely exceeded. I ordered the banh mi dac biet and the pho dac biet to try out a bit of variety and compare it to places Ive had elsewhere. Pho dac biet (4.5/5): very light broth but full of flavor without being oily, this is pho done well by any city's standards. The meat is tender and had decent portions. The noodles are cooked well and the bowl comes with all the herbs and chili oil you get at any other pho restaurant. Only complaint is I prefer my tendons to be more tender and less rubbery. At around 15$ for a large its slightly more expensive than Atlanta or Houston but it saves a 2-5 hour trip. Banh mi dac biet (4.5/5): was interesting getting a banh mi that had warm freshly toasted bread. There was a ton of liver pate that to me tasted homemade, more flavorful than most ive had.. Plenty of viet sandwich mayo and carrots/radish as well. Normal portion and flavor of the cold cuts. A solid sandwich for 6$. Honestly I was caught off guard at the quality of the restaurant. I had a pretty well regarded pho spot at Atlanta and would say this spot is similar if not better. Seems like a family owned spot that puts in effort into their food at reasonable prices. Overall: great place to get pho in Augusta Place can be easy to pass on Washington Rd since it is slightly hidden by the buildings next door, but if you are looking for what once looks like was a Pizza Hut. The restaurant has a simple layout. Place is clean and has plenty of room. Service has always been excellent. I have only tried the pho there, but have already been back multiple times. Maybe the best or tied for the best pho in Augusta. The soup has good flavors and you get plenty of beef and other toppings to fill you bowl especially if you get the P1 (Pho Special, I believe it is called). This is our second time coming to this restaurant and both times the food and staff have been incredible. The atmosphere and ambiance was tastefully done. The lights were so fancy. For appetizers we got the Spring Rolls and they were very fresh and the peanut sauce was decadent. My husband was seriously licking the leftovers. I got an Iced Coffee with condensed milk and it was as good as you'd expect. The main events were the entrees. I got the clay pot chicken that was loaded with fresh vegetables, chicken and fried rice. It was so good and seasoned very well. My husband got the Combination Flat Noodles and they were loaded with fresh vegetables as well, huge shrimp, chicken and beef. The sauce and seasoning made this entree amazing. He added Hoisin and the chili sauce to take it to the next level! My father got the Combination fried rice. It didn't have as many vegetables but had lots of chicken, shrimp and beef. Love all the recent vietnamese restaurant additions to augusta. This is probably in the best location as it is realtively close to I20. I had to get something in each category to try out (fresh and as leftover...still tasted delicious the next day). Sesame balls we crisp on the outside but not greasy and still had a nice chew. The inside was filled with mung bean and coconut flakes. Not too sweet. The grilled pork in the bahn mi was flavorful. Only complaint is the meat didn't reach both ends so there was just bread at the tips. That being said the hoagie roll was a smidge larger than some other places I was supposed to get one rice dish and one rice vermicelli but both ended up being rice vermicelli. The chicken portion was generous amount and had good flavor. The combo one let's you try a little of everything including grilled shrimp, egg roll, vietnamese ham. The pho broth tasted like they had spent hours. Deep flavors and not overly salty. I liked the packaging for take out. Fresh spring rolls are as the name implies...fresh. would eat these same day as purchase as the rice paper can get dried out and become hard. Peanut dipping sauce was decent but nothing special. I just wanted to update my review and give 5 stars for the banh mi here. It's one of the best banh mi I've had and I've had plenty in Atlanta. They are generous with the portion but what really makes it good is the bread. The bread is not too hard like the other stores and is fluffy and delicious.
