I grit my teeth and resigned myself to going. I am sooooo glad I did! The ladies who did the class were highly knowledgeable and very friendly. Liz was quite patient and Michelina warm and welcoming, making everyone feel at home. They taught us a lot about the art of pizza making adding personal touches, with a dash of history, and entertaining humor. When the time came for us to start our own creations, they had taught well, so we were ready to go. They were generous with ingredients and guided us through the process. When all was said and done, each of us enjoyed a tasty pizza with enough left over to take some home. Also included in our meal, was a delicious salad with a tasty dessert pizza. Although I was initially reluctant to partake and went due to obligation, I would happily return by choice. All in all, the experience was enjoyable, fun, and delicious!!

We started out with some hummus and crostini. We were glad to have snacks since it was about an hour and a half until we sat down to eat. By the way, you can bring your own wine! They have nice glasses and a wine opener to us. The also sell some; the Cab we had was only $20 and was quite good. There were only 5 of us, plus chef. It was great since we all got to do more and hear better than with a normal larger group. Our Southern menu consisted of collard greens with pancetta, skillet jalapeno-cheddar cornbread, mustard potatoes with onions, and the most amazing flank steak + tomato chutney. Seriously, I'm still mentally drooling over this chutney! I can't wait to make it again! For dessert, lemon curd mousse. Delicious It was really nice to have our actual meal at a dinner table that was thoughtfully decorated and put together (versus in the kitchen around the stainless steel). We really had an amazing night and loved learning some new skills, recipes, and flavors. Looking forward to going back for a different menu!

This was a fun class where I really learned something about New Orleans cooking. Cheryl was so nice and made us feel so comfortable. I walked out of class feeling like i could make a great dinner and it wouldn't break the bank or take me 20 hours. The meal we made was delicious and most of the ingredients can be found at local stores including Walmart! This was not a stuffy pretentious class. I attended a seafood boil cruise in St. Charles, hosted by Chef Che and also hired heard to cater a private event at my home. The food items at both were outstanding, but the service for both were a bit disappointing. As for the cruise, we pulled off later than scheduled and there was not enough food and daiquiris to go around. Additional food was being prepared at the dock and ultimately those who were missed and wanting more were taken care of. For my home gathering, Chef Che arrived more than an hour late. Chef did offer a discount for her tardiness but in looking at the final bill, it was higher than the original! Lol. Ultimately, she took off about 10%, which is less than hoped but better than nothing. That said, I would use her again but with better understanding and preparation of the time concerns. Would suggested requesting food 2.5 - 4 hours in advance of your private event. It was rather embarrassing to have 75% of my guest there ahead of the caterer.
