    Betsy's old location.

I think I walked past this place a hundred times without stopping. Then I noticed a sign in their window advertising knitting classes, and I decided to check it out. The front room of Betsy's is mostly dedicated to tea. They have a huge selection of loose and bagged teas. You can buy single bags of many of the teas if you want to try them before committing to a bigger box, and you can buy as little as an ounce of the loose teas. The staff is extremely helpful, and they always throw in a little something extra for me to try. The back room of Betsy's is full of yarn and knitting/crocheting supplies. There are tons of varieties of yarn and long tables where the classes are held. This is one of the coolest places in Lockport. Check it out if you're in the area.

He frequently brought up politics, demographics, and "statistics" at work in ways that felt inappropriate and often came across as biased. It wasn't the kind of environment I expected from a workplace. I personally chose not to engage with these conversations because I was there to work, and I try to keep my personal beliefs separate from my workplace. However, being repeatedly exposed to these types of comments from management made the environment feel unprofessional. I also noticed that he would tell us certain employees had quit, but after speaking with those employees, I learned that was not always what happened. This made me feel like there was a lack of honesty and transparency in how situations were handled. One comment that really stuck with me was when he told me and another young female employee that we'd be prettier if we spoke more intelligently and that men would like us more. We are both very young girls, and that comment was incredibly inappropriate and made us uncomfortable. I was also told that if I came in early every day, I would receive a $1 raise. I did exactly that, and I received the raise on my final paycheck. Just a few days later, I was fired. It was confusing to be recognized with a raise and then immediately let go without being given a meaningful explanation. I was told I was being fired because I supposedly had an attitude with a customer. When I asked what had happened, I wasn't given a clear explanation and was simply told they had decided not to continue my employment. I work hard, take my jobs seriously, and I rarely leave negative reviews because I know everyone is trying their best. I didn't contact them afterward because I felt I had already been treated disrespectfully. After the way I was spoken to and the lack of honest communication, I didn't feel another conversation would have changed anything. As a customer, I also found the food to be average, especially for the price. Before I even worked here, my mom and I had cheesecake from the café on a few different occasions, and every time it had a noticeable freezer-burn taste. For the prices they charge, I expected much better quality. Based on my experience as both an employee and a customer, I would encourage people to support another family-owned café instead.

It's absolutely popular and I love how customer focus it is with giving it a vibrant environment that feels like I'm inside of a college hangout. The lines here are a bit long at times of the day, there's offices conducting businesses to around you as well. It's a great place that features events happening too. They are also dog friendly and they have non - caffeinated options. Guest interactions me and my wife enjoyed were the photo booth as well as the games nearby. Prices here are very reasonable and we met the owner who was very nice and courteous! She definitely knows how to knock out orders quickly! The warm, vibrant atmosphere was inviting and I was very appease with my visit and specially that a place like this exists in Joliet Illinois is absolutely incredible. The staff was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to, which made the experience even more welcoming. I was torn between trying the special Nana Latte or the Horchata Latte, but with limited time, I went with the Banana Nana Latte. You could really taste the quality of the espresso, and the house-made syrup complemented it. The drink was light, flavorful, and not overly sweet (which is something I like). We also tried the cold brew, which was a solid go-to for coffee lovers. Next up was the chocolate croissant--and as people who love a good croissant (and have even had them in Italy), we were impressed. It was one of the best we've had in a long time. I'd go back for that croissant every time, though I'm also curious to try their other baked goods. As a tea lover, I'm excited to explore their tea selection. The merch was also cute and trendy. I was not able to hear the music the dj has to offer but I'm sure it's groovy and a perfect touch for the vibes. As someone who likes dj sets, I will make my back. This shop is a gem for the community, and I'm happy to keep supporting them. Can't wait to go back!

They have good quality fabrics and especially good quality thread. They repair sewing machines, so when the old 1960s Kenmore machine I bought needed a cleaning and adjustment I brought it in. It was returned cleaned, oiled and with a new correct needle. I also purchased a set of needles for different things. I mostly just mend clothing, but I have a periodic older visitor who uses the machine for her quilting projects, so I wanted it to be in top shape.
