Shortly afterwards, I got a flashing warning on the dashboard. Totally convinced I'd been scammed, I took the car back. It turned out a sensor had failed and needed to be replaced. Penny picked up the entire tab (labor & parts) even though I had bought the car "as is"! That was more than four years ago, and my 2007 Subaru Forester is still going strong. If I hadn't moved to a state without a sales tax, I'd drive back to CT to purchase another car from Penny without hesitation.

They don't fix anything themselves, as they don't have any knowledgeable mechanics on hand. The repairs needed on the vehicle will likely be double the discount your getting off of KBB value. I purchased a 2011 Ford Edge. I've owned it for a year and have had to put close to $6000 in repairs so far. All the repairs were necessary and caused by extensive rust and lack of care. Wheel Bearing, rotors, break pads, tires (bald), tire rods, muffler, muffler mounts (fell while driving), and more. There was even an evap leak code, that was cleared but never repaired, to hide that the vehicle check engine light was on. This happened days after purchasing the car. I tried talking to them about it, and they dismissed it saying it's probably the gas cap. The vehicle has a capless fill. They didn't even acknowledge that they sold me a vehicle with a check engine light that they most likely knew about and cleared. The vehicle was sold at $3000 below KBB. In hindsight, I would have asked for another $3000-$4000 off or said no and gone somewhere else. Always have a certified mechanic check the vehicle before buying.

Exactly one week after I bought it, the car suffered catastrophic engine failure and now needs a complete engine replacement. To make matters worse, the employee engaged in an illegal practice known as "title jumping." Instead of registering the car in his own name, he handed me a title that still listed this dealership as the last buyer. Because of this shady paperwork, the Massachusetts DMV wouldn't let me register the vehicle. Even though the car was already dead, I still had to physically travel back to this dealership myself just to get the title legally transferred into my name. Whether the dealership explicitly endorsed this or just turns a blind eye to their employees selling defective cars using open dealership titles, it reflects terribly on their business ethics. If you buy a car that originated from this lot, expect severe mechanical issues and a massive legal headache. Avoid them at all costs.

I brought it in. I told the gentleman when I first walked in to the walked outside side I asked about the back light of the car because I had a small crack in the back up light and all I want to know is if I had to buy just that back up if I had to buy the whole I know it's not under bumper-to-bumper which I was supposed to have. I was gonna buy I know they multiple different cars and if they had to order parts for what was wrong with the car if it wasn't too expensive, I was ask them to order that I would pay for it and get everything done all at once but instead all on was the back cracked headlight wound up getting into a huge fight the police were called. My car was never put diagnostic test. The never resolved so I still have the same issue with the and I only had the for less than a month and a half. I even contacted that I bought the from to clarify why I originally bought the car up there I never heard from him so I contacted the Better Business Bureau and consumer and their response to the Better Business Bureau was all about the cracked back light.
