Had a great experience here with family while in town last weekend. Our waitress was so so friendly and very helpful and quick with everything that we needed! The place is huge and we were sat immediately, I imagine the parking lot gets full but we were also able to find a spot big enough for our truck. We all got different things. I got the spicy pappardelle entree, my dad and his gf split one of the STL pizzas, and my boyfriend got the meatball sub. Everything we got was DELICIOUS. The pappardelle was the perfect level of spicy and the meatballs that came with it were AMAZING and HUGE. My boyfriend really liked his sandwich and I also liked the pizza my dad and his gf got. I'd never had STL style pizza before so that was neat! Overall, I'd definitely recommend this spot especially if you're in the mood for a big and filling meal!

Great food & would recommend. We love Farotto's. We have been coming here to Farotto's for 6+ years. When I go out to eat I look for 2 things great food and experience. We love the food both in taste & quality. We love the taste. We have tried almost everything on the menu. Everything is delicious and cooked to perfection. The quality is amazing and they always maintain their high standards. The experience is wonderful with great service and wonderful family atmosphere. I would definitely recommend. They have great wine and drink menu. They also have desserts as well.

Somehow I'd never been here before, but I can't wait to come back. Photo doesn't do it justice, but their Chicken Spiedini is probably the best I've had in St. Louis. The parmesan risotto was delicious and went so well with the dish. Service was great as well, and the covered patio had a great vibe for a great meal.

We had a great meal at Farotto's the other week. We had never been and the atmosphere and staff were top-tier! Our waitress was Carli and she was absolutely phenomenal. There was literally nothing I could critique with the service. Everyone was so friendly! The food was excellent as well. We started with the Meatballs, which were super juicy and flavorful. My Mom got the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Fries and said it was great. My Pasta Con Broccoli was good but needed a tad bit more sauce. We will be back. Thanks Farroto's & Carli!

So it was Sunday evening and I was scrolling looking for something to eat. I googled "pesto pasta" and to my surprise, Farotto's popped up. I was excited because I had only been here a few times but was excited to try their food. I arrived and per usual, sat in the bar area. It took a while for me to get water, so I was bit disappointed in that. When the server finally came, although I was ready to give him my entire order, as soon as I told him what I wanted to drink, he turned and walked the other way. When he finally came back, I ordered a small caesar and the pasta farotto. The salad came out rather quickly and although the parm crisps were good, that was about it. The balsamic dressing I got was way too salty and it made it tough to eat. I ate what I could tolerate but that was only to hold me over until the real food arrived and when it did, that's when things took a turn. First, I had NO idea the portions were that large. They could easily serve four people comfortably. The first few bites were underwhelming. What I thought would be the highlight of my dad ended up being a buzzkill. The pasta literally tasted like something of a frozen dinner. The sauce was watery, lacked flavor, and wasn't good. I literally had four bites and decided that was enough, so I asked for the check and dipped. This visit was a bit disappointing. I'd be willing to come back and give them another shot, but I also don't want to be left disappointed.

This was only my second time here but it sure didn't disappoint. Hands down the best meal ever! I opted for the pepperoni pizza and the seafood pasta and they both were incredible! I had plenty of leftovers. The staff was very attentive and welcoming!

How have missed this gem all these years!!! Met some friends for a hurry up happy hour... ummm parking or lack there of first clue!!! The staff was friendly and helpful. I found my friends!!! I ordered a Bourbon Smash. And I drank it...fast. Delish! Moved to wine so I could pace my alcohol. I ordered the seafood cannoli. I ate it ... fast. Sooo delicious. The ambiance is a hard call. It full of people having a good time so does that count. I will be going back... must try more deliciousness.

Very cool open place.. first time weirdly.... It was really busy at lunch and still had great service. Loved the cannoli and flash fried spinach. (Off menu). Kudos to the friendly fast service & delicious food! I will be back! Great gf options!

Farotto's is one of my favorite STL style pizzas and is located on Manchester Rd in Rock Hill. I've been there there times and I keep going back for the supreme pizza that is wonderful although is kind of salty. The place was pretty busy on a Saturday night so we grabbed seats at the bar and that was fine although a little noisy but they got out our pizza, arancini, and t-rav appetizers fresh and hot and didn't take too long at all. Friendly service too, maybe I'll get pasta next time I go back.

Signature Roast Beef with Fresh Parmesan Chips

I am a food and entertainment critic who covers the Chicago and St Louis markets. I call it like I see and experience it. I stand by my reviews. Farotto's has been a St Louis favorite since 1956 spanning multiple generations. The restaurant is still owned by the original family members. They've expanded it too. Their outside patio although still under cover is fantastic. They have a large bar with several giant TVs. On a warm summer night it's fantastic. I hold restaurants accountable. I look at their mission statement and how they describe themselves. Funny how the food and service does not back up the bold talk. What the owner claims since he started working at the restaurant since he was 11 years old was, he discovered that people really want from a restaurant is high quality food, the best service, and fair prices. Their mission statement boast can be assured of receiving quality meals with world class service. Let's talk about the world class service. As we all know St Louis was just under extreme heat with heat indexes of over 100. My first glass of water had Ice and was very cold on such a hot night. My ice had melted and when the server came around to refill, his pitcher had NO ice and the water was cool to slightly warm at best. C'mon, really! Common sense, and world class service says, get ice in the pitcher! I order their "signature" roast beef sandwich on a garlic cheese roll with fresh Parmesan potato chips. The roast beef sandwich was juicy, but I hate to say it, tasted and had the consistency like something from Arby's. I finished it but really didn't like it. I expected the garlic cheese roll to be bursting with flavor and it wasn't. You hardly tasted the garlic cheese. Honestly, if you want the FINEST Italian roast beef sandwich and truly a signature dish, the BEST in St Louis is Grassi's in Frontenac off Lindbergh and German Blvd. I was hesitant to try the fresh parmesan potato chips but I figured why not. Sounded good. The chips were home made which I like but there was literally no flavor. They must have really skimped on the parmesan. To be fair, let's talk about the pizza. The Light Italian Pizza was very good. Consisting of olive oil, mozzarella, garlic, spinach, mushroom, and large chunks of tomato was very good. Even just as good the second day as a leftover. Bottom line is this, go to Farratos, order what you want but do not get the roast beef sandwich. There's better elsewhere. Make sure the server has COLD water WITH ICE. Mr Farrotto needs to look at his mission statement and his philosophy and don't rest on his laurels. The bar keeps getting raised.

After getting back into town from a long weekend on the Mississippi coast (driving, mind you), I was in no mood to cook or to grab another quick/fast-food meal so we decided on a close to home stop. All I really wanted was to get a healthy-ish meal like a salad or anything not fried. My husband suggested Farotto's and I was too exhausted to argue against Italian. My eyes went immediately to the salads. Such a good variety of options. I chose the Beet and Chèvre salad. I can't lie though, the First Bites (appetizers) sounded amazing and I was secretly hoping my husband would suggest a starter like the Arancini Pizziolo but I suppose that makes a great reason to return soon. We both opted for small salads and to split a small supreme pizza. My Beet Chèvre salad was a work of art. A visually stunning presentation of a pretty basic salad with amazing flavor profiles. My only complaint, and I hate to call it a complaint because I LOVE goat cheese, was the ratio of cheese to beet. It was too much and overpowered the beet. The dressing and balsamic was DE-licious and those pickled onions...yum. Let's talk pizza...one of the best thin crust pizzas in town. Fresh toppings and a crispy thin crust cooked to perfection! The perfect ratio of sauce, cheese and toppings cooked to the perfect wellness; light and crispy with a well done finish. We were seated on the enclosed deck and it had a really relaxed vibe and heaters to keep it nice and cozy for the chilly evening. It was a breath of fresh air (pun intended) that it was not noisy, despite being pretty busy on a Tuesday night. The service was impeccable. From the time we walked in the door, the staff was very attentive, accommodating and friendly. Although our visit was for a lighter fare, the menu proved to be filled with many items that I'd love to try when I haven't been pumped full of southern fried delights for days. I will definitely go back.

Hot diggity diggin' dog was it busy. Service was absolutely stellar, shoutout to Nicole. She was very attentive, checked up on us just enough. I knew that our table was very rowdy so i'm glad that she could bear with it. The place will be filled. That is a expectation. Restrooms and seating areas were sparkling clean! Nothing to complain about in terms of ambiance. Roomy and spacious, not crammed at all. Parking lot is a little small though. Prices weren't as great as I thought though, it wasn't at the right value in my opinion. Food was decent though, it was filling and well portioned. Just enough to eat by yourself or share with two, same could go for dessert. Dessert was absolutely delicious, not too sweet and light. I wouldn't come here again, the food I found only to be average but the dessert made up for it. It was nice to try Faratto's though, it was.

It was my birthday and for 60+ years, my traditional b-day dinner has been rigatoni. My in-laws suggested Charlie Gitto's and it was fantastic. So, this year, we were again passing through St Louis on my birthday and I wanted to go back. I was hoping that it was as good as I remembered. I feared that I would be disappointed but I wasn't. It was as great as I remembered. I had their rigatoni with sausage, my wife had baked spaghetti with meatballs, my BIL had lasagna and my SIL had salmon. I also added a classic Ceasar salad. All of our entrees were excellent. The service is superb and definitely deserves a 5-star rating. Our waiter was excellent - he said he's been doing this for 18 years and was one of the best, most professional waiters I've ever met. Although claiming to have invented the toasted ravs, really did not enjoy them. Caprese salad was good for this time of year- early June. Side of red pasta helped but was too sweet.

Parking is easy within a block or two. Outdoor, booth, and table seating is available. My husband had the gluten free pasta because it is also vegan, and no lie and true to form, it was delightful and light! The tomato sauce is Perfection: not too acidic, not too sweet, letting the grand yet humble tomato shine. I chose the puttanesca, one of my favorite traditional Italian pastas. I would order this again!! Had plenty for lunch the next day. Not to be left out: the toasted ravs and cannoli. I've had a few T-ravs since moving to StL, and these are excellent. The tomato sauce for dipping, once again, is a real treat. The cannolis? Precious, flaky, and dreamy. I ate one at our table and took the second bad boy home. FIRE.

I also remembered seeing it featured on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, so we figured it had to be worth a try. When we arrived, we were asked if we had a reservation. We didn't, but noticed a few open seats at the bar and asked if we could sit there instead. The two bartenders welcomed us right away and told us they would take good care of us throughout the evening. My wife ordered an iced tea, and I started with an Old Fashioned. For an appetizer, we ordered the Toasted Ravioli ($14), which is handmade in-house and filled with ground beef, ricotta, and pecorino romano cheese, served with marinara sauce. It's one of the dishes featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. For dinner, my wife ordered the Chicken Marsala ($23), and I went with the Bolognese ($17), made with veal, pork, red wine gravy, cresta di gallo pasta, stracciatella, and Calabrian chili oil. The toasted ravioli arrived looking great. I tried one without the sauce first. The fresh pasta didn't fry up quite the way I expected. It was more flaky than crispy, and I was hoping for a little more crunch. The filling was decent but could have used a bit more seasoning and flavor. The marinara sauce also had a bitterness to it that wasn't my favorite. When our entrées arrived, both dishes looked and smelled wonderful. Unfortunately, the flavors didn't quite live up to the presentation. My wife's Chicken Marsala had good flavor overall, but the side pasta was very gummy, and the sauce again had a bitter note that seemed to overpower the dish. My Bolognese was the biggest disappointment of the evening. When I think of Bolognese or a rich meat ragù, I usually expect a wider pasta such as pappardelle. The cresta di gallo pasta wasn't my favorite choice for the dish, and it also had a gummy texture. The sauce itself suffered from the same bitterness that we noticed throughout the meal. Looking back, I probably should have ordered the Carbonara once I realized the Bolognese wasn't being served with the type of pasta I was hoping for. Overall, the meal was okay, but it didn't quite meet the expectations we had after seeing the restaurant featured on television and reading the reviews. The service was excellent, and the bartenders did a fantastic job taking care of us. While this visit was a bit disappointing, there were plenty of other dishes on the menu that looked great, and I would be willing to give Anthonino's another try and order something different.

Chicken caprese salad (4/5): Added chicken to the salad and they did not skimp on the protein! I liked the vinaigrette that the salad came with. Penne a la Vodka (5/5): It was both rich and creamy. The flavors were on point and delicious all around. Found parking nearby with no problem.

You need to book a reservation for Friday and Saturday nights. We had ours for 7 pm and were seated promptly. Food we got Toasted Ravs's these are a STL staple and a must get. The sauce is on the sweeter side so be prepared. I got the Lasagna which came with a salad. The dressing is also on the sweeter side. I love that so it's a great salad and it's topped with provel cheese. The lasagna has provel, beef, sausage and ricotta. It's light on the ricotta which I love. They use the same sweet sauce for the toasted rav's. It's a huge portion! My friend got a chicken dish which came with bacon, broccoli, peppers, and had toasted bread crumbs. He loved it, however he said it did not have much chicken. We were so full we skipped dessert. Great meal. For two people it was about $100 so pretty reasonable. We also got alcohol so it would have been cheaper without wine and a mixed drink. Best Italian on the Hill in my opinion!

The interior is nothing fancy, but it has that standard charm of The Hill. The service was excellent, we had Katie. She could have told us she went to WashU and majored in waitressing and we would have believed her. Prompt, professional but slightly personable. Good combo. The food was GREAT. We couldn't decide which was better, the Chicken Picatta or the Chicken Speidini. They were both super high quality poultry mixed with a rich and flavorful sauce, yum. Katie even let us make the side shells "pink", by mixing marinara and Alfredo for us. The only reason I'm subtracting a star is that our salads were a bit wilted -- my Mom kept running into some weird looking greens. Regardless, we'll be back.

We started with the toasted ravioli, and it may have been the best I've ever had. Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Our party of four was thrilled with every entrée. I ordered a veal dish with a side of pasta, and it was absolutely outstanding. Everyone else ordered pasta dishes, and there was plenty of "oohing" and "ahhing" at the table with every bite. The portions are huge, so we're all looking forward to enjoying the leftovers. Service was friendly from start to finish. Our server was warm and attentive, although things moved a little slower than expected, and it took a while for our entrées to arrive. That said, once the food hit the table, it was clear the wait was worth it. The restaurant has a wonderful history and old-school charm, though the dining room could probably use a little refreshing. We also stopped at the bar before dinner, and unfortunately that was the biggest letdown of the evening. The presentation and flavor of our cocktails were surprisingly disappointing--they looked and tasted more like drinks from a budget hotel bar than from one of The Hill's iconic restaurants. Thankfully, the incredible meal more than made up for the cocktails. With so many outstanding Italian restaurants on The Hill, we've been fortunate to try many of them, and Cunetto House of Pasta has firmly earned a spot in our personal Top 3. We'll definitely be back.

I just love the low stimulation and the intentionality of the layout. You're typically not straining to hear your dining partner, it's a very calm setting. In my experience the staff has always been attentive. Special shout out to the server who wasn't even assigned to me who brought an extra serving of bread as we were packing our boxes! The food is consistently great! I do miss the reduced price take-home frozen pastas, I hope to see them again soon. The only area Maggiano's doesn't wow me on is their cocktail selection, specifically their price points for what they serve, but otherwise I'd call Maggiano's a 4.75 / 5 so we'll round up.

It was really crowded so we understood, and they do have a bar area to wait which was nice. Service was pretty slow, but our server was helpful when we had questions. The food was good overall. My favorite was the Our Famous Rigatoni "D" with chicken and mushrooms. It had really good flavor, I just wish it came out hot instead of lukewarm. Overall, decent food but the experience itself wasn't the best.
