Hi, I will write what I experienced and what I felt. First of all no doubt she is experienced and talented. She starts cutting your hair and your realize she is a pro. I went there by reading the reviews from this page. First cut was awesome and I wasn't disappointed at all (may be I was happy to find a pro hair stylist and didn't notice anything). But as my second and third haircut came I paid more attention and I realized that I get only 15 minutes for a men haircut. In those 15 minutes she sweeps the hair from the floor and bills the guy who was getting a haircut before you, so you get about 12-13 minutes for the haircut. What is the side affect of that? I started realizing that every now and then my hair would be unevenly cut after every haircut. She tries to hurry up to catch up the time and doesn't double check at the end. I am not talking about pro level uneven, I am talking about something that I can see myself in mirror. Most of the time it was just behind my head above the ears. Moreover, someone would get late and because of which the 15 minutes would drop to 10 minutes because she would try to hurry up even more to catch up the schedule. My last 4 haircuts were like that and I couldn't find any value in paying 30$ for such haircut. After 8-10 months of arguing with myself (should I give one more shot or not?) I decided to move to some other less expensive hair saloon because you can get the same kind of haircut 15$ at these places. She is pro but I feel her main intention is to fit maximum number of people in a day she can fit and not the "customer satisfaction". I don't care how pro she is, as a consumer I care about what I get for the money I paid and I don't find it worth it. Specially when there are same/better quality haircut I get in half the price at other places. They may not be as pro as Farzy is, but as a "customer" I care about the quality of service I get for the money I pair more than how much "pro" a service provider is. read more

EXPENSIVE HAIR CUT....PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE SHAMPOO OR STYLE. I went to Farzy based on ratings here. I called ahead and asked about her prices and she told me her cuts are $25-$45 based on length of hair. I had shoulder length hair so I thought the price would be reasonable. I arrived there on time (as she had repeatedly stressed on the phone) and was told that she is running behind and I would have to wait a little. Well, I waited a good 20 minutes before she was ready. This is her own salon and she is the only person working there. She did NOT wash my hair, just sprayed it with water to make it wet. Took forever to cut it, even though she had her next customer sitting there already. She cut more than I had asked her and gave me so many layers, my hair looks like a Christmas tree( when I style it at home). And to top it all, did not style my hair either, saying that she wants to show me what my hair would look like naturally. She just ran the blow dryer over my head to make sure it was dry. My hair looked like a giant frizz ball. And guess how much she charged me? $45....yep. The result: a very mediocre hair cut for a ridiculously high price. I've been going to see Farzi for 7 years or so at least, and think she is great. She used to be at a supercuts type place, and everyone wanted to see her, so it's good she opened her own business, and from the looks of things, she has been doing very well. She does my hair just the way I like it every time, she is very reasonably priced, she can almost always get me in the same day, etc. She has had to increase her hours because she is so popular, and with an appt, she is always running right on schedule, not keeping me waiting. read more

Just visited Farzy today. I think her appointment scheduling could be improved. I had to wait 15min after showing up on time for my appointment. I didn't mind because I had time and she was just making sure she did a thorough job with the existing customer. Other than the wait, she did an awesome job and was pretty efficient about it. Farzy is fantastic. She has a great personality and will keep up a conversation if you want to, or let you relax in silence if that's what you want. I've gone to her a few times. The only time I needed to explain what I wanted was the first time. Since then, she's asked if I want the same and she does it. 15 minutes later she's done and it's perfect. She cuts it in a way that's easy to maintain and lasts much longer - which is great since I generally dislike getting my hair cut. She also rarely keeps you waiting and if there is a wait, it's maybe five minutes (unlike Regis in Redmond Town Center who routinely kept me waiting 30-60 mins) My wife has also gone to Farzy and will only go to her from now on. Same reasons - she knows what you want, knows how to suggest styles in a way that you can understand, gets it done quickly and gets it done correctly. Price is great - for my cut it's about $18. Compare that to $30-$40 for Regis. As long as Farzy's around she'll have our business. read more

I've been going to Farzi's for about a year now and does a great job! My cut is pretty simple, but I don't even need to explain it, she just says, I know, I know. I keep bugging her that she should hire some more help but she always says, no, no. She's pretty busy, but I've usually been able to call mid-day and get a late afternoon haircut, no problem. A very nice lady performing very nice haircuts with very reasonable prices, with the only downside that sometimes you might have to wait a bit even with an appointment (the reason behind a 4 instead of 5 star). The owner is a nice lady. You need to book an appointment 2 days in advance. I didn't know that but luckily she had a cancellation and I got the slot. I asked her to decide the hairstyle for me and she handled it quite well. She told me her plan before starting and gave some good suggestions/tips too. I like the haircut Farzy gave and will definitely be a return customer! Price is ok, a little bit more expensive than Hairmaster etc but for its quality I think it worths the price. Whole experience was just awesome, she has some books in her salon with hair styles for various length hair, you can choose from that or take a picture with you. She knows how to deal with all types of hair including thicker curly hair. it is impossible to find a hair stylist that knows how to deal with curly hair that isnt straightened, so I am very happy to have found Farzy. A little background info: I live in Boston. I was visiting family in Redmond for a week and made an overnight decision to chop my elbow-length hair off to my chin... My brother recommended Farzy, and I could not be happier! Another great haircut from Farzy today. She's a real pro. She friendly and nice, but what really distinguishes her is how good she is at seeing what the right cut is and getting it done very efficiently. I'm always amazed at how sure she is as she makes the bigger cuts first and then slowly fine tunes at the end. Just a pro, that's all. When I first went, I explained what I was looking for and what I didn't want, but now I just sit down and let her go to work. And I'm always satisfied when I look in the mirror fifteen or twenty minutes later. I have found the perfect person to cut all men's hair. Farzi is so wonderful. I am in the military and need my haircut once a week, so I need someone that can give me a specific hair cut. She takes her time and cares about your haircut. She will even sing for you. She is so sweet, funny, and incredibly good at cutting hair. She does this thing with string to remove all excess hair from your face. It is amazing. If you are going to get your picture taken, go here first then get your photo for your driver's license, graduation photos, or even your wedding pictures taken. I recommend Farzi to anyone. She has 30 years of experience so she can look at my facial features and cut my hair so that it compliments and brings out my best features. I always come out of there looking and feeling great. Hey I also found out that she does hot oil scalp massage by appointment. To maintain a healthy scalp and healthy hair she uses different kinds of therapeutic oils depending if a person has dry scalp conditions or oily scalp conditions, thin hair, thick hair, brittle hair etc. A scalp massage can be soooo relaxing. I found staff unprofessional. I am new in the area and I called to ask about if appts. are necessary. She answered my question and volunteered information that I need to book 4 or 5 days early, as it is a women's cut. I asked her about the rate since it is not posted on the site. Normally, the answer is, "For women's hair cuts, the rate is anywhere from $X to $Y", which is the range. The staff who answered (most likely the owner) refused to answer, and wasted more time repeating that I need to call after 6 PM, to get the answer. She is experienced, but the chance of getting a good cut is worse than Russian roulette. Very nice person, and salon has good style and interior. Great cut the first time, and never as good since. She keeps 15 mins appointments: I've always seen 30 mins appts. but never 15. So she is always running late. A good bit of time is answering phone calls and setting up appointments. For an extremely competent yet inexpensive men's haircut, you would be hard-pressed to find a better option on the Eastside than Farzy. After being butchered at an upscale salon in downtown Seattle just before flying out to see family for Thanksgiving, I called Farzy and begged for an appointment to have her fix the damage in order to avoid having to show off the new "racing stripe" on the side of my head over the holiday. She got me in and did a fantastic job, assuring me "We can fix this" and "You'll be happy with this hair." What I found especially great about her is that you don't have to hold her hand at every step of the process and tell her how to shape things and such. She can simply look at your hair and know how it'll look its best. She also charges a third of what the other salon charged me to boot, so I can easily afford to tip her a well-deserved 50% on every visit and still come out way ahead. She says she has been cutting hair for over three decades and loves what she does, and it really shows. As a result, she's always extremely booked and it's often hard to reach her by phone as she runs the entire place on her own, so my best advice for those trying to get in would be to make your first appointment by phone, then at the end of each appointment, make your next appointment in person before you leave. read more

Descent prices, very friendly service and a great a hair cut. I am pretty picky about my hair cuts, but Farzy did a great job off the bat and is good with remembering how I like it, even when I'm gone for 11 months.
