They do not disclose the full price up front. You go in for a haircut which they inform you to be $35. Then when done they charge you almost double adding $8 for washing $20 for styling which we did not ask for and they did not communicate in advance. You only find out what your total cost with these extra costs is when you are ready to pay. This used to be a neighborhood reasonable haircut place. Now for a simple haircut you walk out paying $63. They need to be up front and ask whether we want to do the extra services and disclose the costs before assuming, proceeding and charging. More honest practice would be appreciated. read more

I returned back after an hour only to find she was doing some other woman's hair and not doing my daughters. by 6 o'clock I got frustrated we had been there 3 1/2 hours and she was still working on someone else's hair that came in after my daughter's appointment. I came to this salon in October 2016 because I wanted to give it a try and it had a lot of good yelp reviews. The stylist was friendly and my haircut was just the way I wanted it. She cut my hair so I had lots of long layers and the back was shaped like a V as I requested. I also had a relaxing shampoo prior and I paid $25.00 + tip for the shampoo and cut. My sister and co-workers liked my haircut so much that they asked for the name of the place, which I referred them to. I came back to the salon the second week of January 2017 and brought my co-worker with me so we could get our haircuts and I was super excited since I had such a wonderful experience the first time. This is when everything starts going downhill. The stylist shampooed my hair then started to cut it. When she was almost done, she stopped and proceeded to start cutting a different person's hair while the other stylist took over and finished cutting my hair. My haircut was awful. I wanted long layers that blended in with the rest of my hair and a curved shape in the back. I ended up with a bunch of choppy short layers that is just a huge mess. It gets even worse. I was ready to pay and asked the stylist how much my haircut was and she said $36.00. I asked her if the price went up as I only paid $25.00 the last time I came in and that was about 2.5 months ago. She said that she is giving me a special price since she typically charges non-Asian people more. I was in shock and couldn't believe the words coming out of her mouth. She also said that I had a shampoo and a style which is why it is more. Here is my issue. The stylist shampooed my hair without asking me if I wanted one and neglected to tell me that there was an extra charge. I was also asked if I wanted to have some curls in my hair, again neglecting to inform me that there was an additional charge. I asked her how come I paid less the last time I was in which also included a shampoo, but she didn't answer my question and just said that this is the special price that she is giving me. I proceeded with my payment and also gave her a tip, which I shouldn't have. It gets even better. My co-worker's hair was just as bad and she had to go to a different salon so that they could fix her hair. When my co-worker went to pay for her haircut, she was also charged $36.00. I asked the stylist how come she is charged the same price as me when she didn't receive a shampoo and style. The stylist told me that she typically charges more than $36.00 for a haircut, but I was getting the Asian special. I still don't understand why my coworker had to pay the same price when she didn't even get a wash or style. My co-worker and I didn't want to make a scene in the salon, so she just went ahead and paid the bill and we left. We were both very disappointed with our haircuts and how we were being cheated on with the services provided or lack thereof. I felt that they wanted to make some extra money out of me by giving me a shampoo and style without letting me know that there's an additional charge. Most Asian salons that I've been to don't charge more than $25.00 for a women's haircut which includes a shampoo. The stylist here is telling me that she typically charges more which is racket because this salon is not even close to a Gene Juarez or Gary Manuel salon. How can you charge more than $35.00 for a haircut that is subpar? Prices are not clear. They will charge you what they feel like, will give you services that you didn't ask for and will neglect to tell you that there is are additional charges. The payment process was shady and seems very dishonest. My coworker and I will never come back to this salon and we will let all of our friends and family know not to come here either. Lastly, the stylist who took the payment kept on telling us to tell our family and friends to come to her salon. I believe that is very unprofessional. You don't repeatedly tell your customers to have them bring in their family and friends. If a customer likes the service that you have provided, they will most likely recommend your business to their family and friends without you to ask. After my first visit, I recommended this salon to my family and friends, but after the second visit, there will be no more. read more

I needed a hair cut ASAP and couldn't wait for an appointment later in the week, nor did I want to spend $50 before tip. Lucy took me in right away and offered some suggestions to make my hair a little more manageable. She was a sweet girl, but really hard to understand. At times I felt like she was cutting too much off and I let her know, but she continued snipping away. Granted, my hair looks fine and feels better than it did when I walked in, so in the end it worked out. Shampoos are an extra $5 and styling is another $10, so make sure you let your stylist know you only want the bare minimum (e.g. JUST a cut) to avoid extra charges. I walked out only paying $35 for the wash, cut, and style (not including tip). They also do waxing and nails. Overall, the place was fairly clean and well maintained. Lucy didn't rush me and took her time on my hair. I doubt I'll be back for another hair cut, because when it comes to my hair, I feel really uncomfotable if I can't communicate with my stylist. read more

I would give this place 5 stars because I love the way they cut hair. My only issue is that they will charge you for everything (shampoo, style, etc.) and they won't tell you that it costs extra. You just have to be firm in telling them "no thank you". Other than that, they are very friendly, decently priced ($30 for a haircut), and are very quick. DO NOT GO HERE.. Believe me or not ... They will try their best just to dig in your wallet as much as they can. Especially the older lady ( owner) , they forced me and my family to get additional services even We already said NO, then at the end they over charged us like crazy. A haircut under 2 mins for my 20month daughter was $20 bucks, my wife wanted to dye her hair and asked how much, the owner said $60 only, at the end it ended up to be $120.00 for additional services that my wife did not even know about . I told her i dont wanna shampoo my hair bcuz im gonna go home n shower anyway but she kept forcing me to do so then charged more later. Big lesson to learn and we will NEVER COME BACK again. read more

I am never going back to this place. I told the Vietnamese lady to take only an inch off my hair, instead she cut off 4 inches. I was upset and she told me haircut is only $20. I went here because I was in a rush to get a hair cut. I got right in and the young lady asked how I wanted my hair cut. I said short on the sides, above the ears, and a little longer on top keeping the same style. She asked "Medium on the sides" and I said short. She initally was cutting way too short (like crew cut) and I stopped her. Language barrior maybe? She was a sweet women and changed and corrected right away.Even though it was shorter than I wanted, she spent extra time to blend it and it turned out to be a very, very nice cut. Smooth and without a hair misplaced. I'll probably go back to this place. I never write Yelp reviews but my experience today was quite frustrating. I came in on my mom's recommendation because she always gets her hair cut here. I came in to essentially get a trim. I asked for a couple inches off, assuming they would cut off a little more like most salons since I asked for layers. The woman is very nice but left the bottom layer quite long and my upper layers pretty short and thinned out, so my hair barely looked shorter. After she finished cutting, she straightened my hair without informing me that she would charge an extra $30 on top of the $30 hair cutting fee just to straighten my hair! I think there was another appointment after my cut, so I didn't get much time to really look at my hair in the mirror which was my fault, but when I got home I was pretty disappointed. I called in and the woman kept interrupting me when I tried to explain that she only charged my mom $35 for a cut and style. She kept claiming it has always been $30 extra for straightening and that my mom "forgot" and that she actually gave me a $10 discount because my mom had been a regular. I ended up coming back in that day to have her fix my haircut and straightening job. The second haircut was better. I was really disappointed that she never informed me that she would charge me for a double haircut just to straighten my hair. I could buy myself a hair straightener for $20. My wife went into L&L and asked for a cut and a color.$123.00 later she was done. They charged her the maximum amount for the color, they said the reason the price was so high was because her hair length and that she had thick hair. My wife's hair barely reaches the top of her ear and she has very thin hair. Bottom line was she got ripped off. NO MORE L & L ...done.... Today I came to this salon to check it out with my wife. We came in at 3pm and left after 7pm. It took them 4 hours to do the treatment for her hair. They left us sitting and told us that we need to wait till her hair dry's, they could have used the hair blower to dry the hair but no they gave other customers that came in after us haircuts. And it get worse, they charged us $30 for the treatment and $35 for stylist and they told us that they gave us a $10 discount that we had yo wait for them for 4 hours. My adult and teenage sons get their hair cut at L&L. We drive 30 minutes to get there because they do such a good job and the price is right ($18 for a man's cut). Both guys get a lot of compliments on their haircuts. It does help to take a picture with you or select a picture from one of the books in the waiting area. I see a lot of men come in for haircuts. L&L is open on Sundays and later in the evenings, so very convenient. The women who own the place work very hard, and I respect them for it. read more

Overall, I spent 7 hours at the salon, because they kept taking every person that walked in! I said I wanted dark ashy color and after yellow highlights and whatever else she mixed up a few times to add on, I ended up redheaded, no highlights, no low-lights, no ashy whatsoever. About an hour into the appointment I realized they were just saying yes to what I was saying without understanding what I was talking about at all! I even looked up ashy color on google translate into Vietnamese! At the end of the appointment she said I owed her $145!!!!! One of a friend got haircut & hair coloring from LL. It looks gorgeous! The highlight gradation well-blended on layer haircut perfectly. So she brought me to that place. I've been there 3 times with my 2 kids & hubby. I did haircut, hair coloring, hair treatment & meni-pedi. Hubby did haircut, scalp message & meni-pedi. My son did a haircut. I satisfy with Lucy & team so far. They did very good job. LL has amazing services especially for underage kids. Sometimes I think they give too much treats to my kids, such us popcorn & candies. But that's better than they get bore anyway. My 1st, concern is, the insence they put was kinda too strong. No offence about these tho, don't give me wrong I like burn insence too. So if you plan to come, make sure you're okay with this. 2nd, the language barrier is can be a problem. Just simply show to her the pictures or photos (if you have any idea), she would like to make it happen for you. Lucy has the skills. 3rd, because LL try to make a business, they oftenly offer this & that services. Kinda tired to say "No, thank you."
