I went to get an acrylic fill today. I usually do 2 coats funny bunny 2 coats bubble bath but was still wanting to look at the other nail colors so I could see if another color raised my interest. I told Lily who was doing my nails and she didn't seem to understand. She began to put the polish on my nail when I stopped her and told her wait I want to look at the other colors first. She showed annoyance. I ended up choosing the funny bunny & bubble bath. Here are when things started to get bad. She did 2 and 2 of the coats but it wasn't pink as I liked it so I when she showed me my hand and asked if it was okay I said if you could do a third coat that would be great because I like it pinkier and she literally sighs and huffs and puffs and goes ANOTHER ONE? That's like 5 coats!! While she rolls her eyes and I said yes that's what I like. I can't believe she judged me and acted that way. I couldn't believe it. I was quiet the rest of the service. Usually I never speak up for myself and I don't like confrontation but I had to. I told the manager or owner Steven about my bad experience. He was extremely nice and tried to fix it. I told him it was okay that it wasn't his fault and that I just wanted to share my experience with him and that I didn't appreciate it. He ended up fixing the shape of my nails and he was very apologetic and nice so I do appreciate that. I was referred to this nail salon by 2 of my best friends. They were getting gel manicures and their nails were always perfect for 2-3 weeks. I went and tried this spot about 6 months ago and have been coming back ever since! They are very neat and clean with their manicures and pedicures, plus they have a huge selection of gel colors to choose from. I always spring for the 10 minute leg and back massages. Since I go every 2-3 weeks and their prices aren't bad, I don't feel guilty treating myself to a wonderful hour of pampering here. They also got me to try the powder gel French for a month I had a few weddings/dinners. I've done them twice for about 2 months each time. They were beautiful, but sometimes shorter nails are easier for me to work with. I'm sure I'll get the powder gel again for upcoming events. I had Leo today for the first time and MUST give him a shoutout. His massages were spectacular; I though my leg rug was fantastic and then he rubbed my shoulders and neck - I was so relaxed! He made all the stresses in my mind go away for the time I was there. Came here for the first time today after reading all the positive reviews on Yelp. Let me start by saying that this salon is the biggest nail salon I've been to around the Merrick/Bellmore/Wantagh area. I came in on a Thursday morning at 10:20am, and almost all the mani and pedi stations were full. There are about 16 manicure tables, 12 pedicure massage chairs, and three large flat screen TVs playing "The Price Is Right." They have a huge selection of gel colors: OPI, Perfect Match, powder gel, etc. I chose the OPI #5, because I read somewhere that the OPI gel lasts much longer. Although the place looked full, they did take me as soon as I came in. Lisa helped me and she is so sweet and friendly. She took me over to the pedicure chair and gave me a pedicure menu to look at - I went with the green tea spa pedicure, and she made sure I was ok with the price before she started. The green tea spa pedicure was amazing. She started with a green tea clay that is rubbed on and then Saran-wrapped to your leg with a hot towel. It also comes with a 13 minute massage and Lisa used the perfect amount of strength and a variety of massage techniques which was super relaxing. I wouldn't recommend you getting the spa pedicure if you are in a rush. They take their time with you and it takes about an hour from start to finish. Lisa also took her time with my gel mani and it looks amazing! They are very sanitary - they use disposable pedi covers, nail filer, buffer, callus filer, etc. I've been to many salons around this area the past few years and can never find one that I loved. Went here today for a powder mani and was not impressed. Lucy did my nails and she was super friendly, but just very bad at her job. She was very shakey and kept messing up. She didn't do a good job at all. As my nails were drying she gave me a massage. Hell of a job, fantastic hand work. She in fact did earn a nice tip from me. The reviews about the carelessness are 100% true!!! I've gone here a few times but omg has this place gone downhill!! I went in, 3 days ago for a gel manicure and an eyebrow waxing. The lady burned my hoods and I didn't realize until I got home... after the wind caught up. Was so painful. The stations looked sanitized... they wear masks and shields, then there's barriers between stations. HOWEVER, when I put my hands inside the UV drier, I swear I felt dust and other debris... definitely had not been cleaned in a long time. In the world we live in of a pandemic, I was 100% disgusted. Like I said, wax burn. I called to complain because it was to the point I had to see my dermatologist for an urgent appointment -that's how much pain I was in. The manager looked at me and just handed me my money back and said "sorry. See you soon." No you won't. It's only been a few days and I have my nails cracked and peeling. Very disappointed that I paid $20 for this cr#p. KEY POINTS- DIRTY UV DRIER, AND THEY RUSH THEIR WAX JOBS. I have been going here for a long time. They recently moved just a few doors down to a larger spot and it is very nice on the inside. Gives a spa like. They always do a fabulous job in terms of the painting and the final result of my nails. I went in this time for a quick pedicure and decided to treat myself to a 10 min massage. This is the reason for the loss of one star. The massage started out really nice. But the woman who was doing it then started to talk to the women next to her and the massage became terrible. My mother (deaf and an Alzheimers patient) was scheduled for a regular fill-in as she always has but because she picked out a different nail polish they gave her a regular manicure without asking my sister (her guardian). Cindy always told her to pick out a different polish but because they were so busy, neglected to do so and an argument ensued whereby David told my sister that it was not his job to take care of my mother in front of a packed salon. I think it's a disgrace that he treats his longtime clients this way and I can only hope that he doesn't treat others like this as well. Shame on you David. It was her day off and I needed a manicure. I saw Sandy (station 6). I was more than pleased. She took her time and shaped my nails exactly as i requested, then finished my gel manicure perfectly. this week I decided to try a powder manicure for the first time. Sandy (#6) did a gorgeous job. You walk in and the salon is big and spacious. It is clean for the most part, and they have a lot of OPI and Essie polishes. I would give them 2.5 for the size of the place and for the fairly nice worker. However when she opened the tool packet, i noticed the cuticle cutter had a red stain on it. Not sure what that was, i didnt let her cut my cuticles, only let her cut my nails down with the nail clipper. If you dont mind somewhat clean tools, then this is a decent spot. As always, was surprised about the cheap prices for nail stuff here in New York (versus in Colorado) - $6 for a manicure?! $14 for a pedicure?! Holy Moly. The service was done quickly -- I was in and out in 20 minutes, and my MIL had a pedicure, and was done within 30. Not a lot of fluff and thrills here, but good solid work. It's been 3 days and my manicure hasn't chipped yet - a miracle for me. Lots of color selection, which meant I ended up with a fun shimmery teal. Make sure to make an appointment - it was ridiculously crowded on a Saturday morning, but that makes sense, given the quality of the work and the affordability of the prices.
