We did a walk in for a mani pedi pedi for two and the salon was gracious enough to squeeze us in even though they were closing soon. They were very professional and ensured they could dedicate two resources to us. The nail technician working on my nails was very friendly and suggested nail colors to me too. He however, wasnt good at design but I am going to let that slide since the services provided were excellent and the staff was very professional. They offer GelX too. The place is clean and tidy. They let us tip using Venmo or card. I will definitely visit again. Skip this place if you want fancy designs though.

I decided to try this place because the prices seemed reasonable for Chicago and they open early, which was convenient. I was seated quickly for a gel manicure, but I did notice they removed my old polish with a lot of filing, which made me a little concerned about the health of my nails long term. During my visit, I also overheard some less-than-positive comments about other guests after they left, which felt a bit unprofessional. The gel polish itself went on with fewer coats than I'm used to, and unfortunately it started chipping fairly quickly, one nail at 2 days, and another by day 4. Typically, my gel manicures last minimum 2 weeks elsewhere. I considered coming back to have it fixed, but I overheard another customer being told it would be $8 per nail to repair after their nail chipped after 1 day, so I decided against it. Overall, I appreciated the quick service and pricing, but the durability and experience didn't quite meet my expectations and I likely won't be back. read more

I come here a lot since I work nearby, and usually have a good experience, but this last visit was honestly terrible. I got someone new (pretty sure she just started), and it was rough from the start. She filed off my existing polish so aggressively it actually hurt and I had to tell her to stop. She barely touched my cuticles, and the polish ended up looking uneven and messy. She didn't even put lotion on at the end. Later, when I had the polish professionally removed, there was pretty noticeable damage from all that filing. I've had good experiences here before, but this visit completely changed my mind, I won't be going back. read more

Just went left and let me just say it was the weirdest experience I ever encountered . So can the end of my service I'm looking at my toes and I observed some of my French are not straight which I hate but I didn't want to be a brat and say anything she demanding A tip and when I didn't give a high enough tip she started saying was the service to much and and the cost I that she was very unprofessional . Overall, this was an alright experience. The nail technician did a good job on my nails, and they were upfront about price changes based on the service requested. The only knock I have against them is me being stared at upon entering, as if they weren't expecting a customer (I had a reservation). It was an uncomfortable feeling that stayed with me throughout the visit. read more

10 10 10 across the board. The young lady I think her name was Sarah did my nails and we closed out the shop. The dedication the time the detail she applied to everything from start to finish is a lost art. I can't say enough how wonderful my experience in this nail salon was and next time in Chicago this is the only place I'll be going to get my nails done. By the phone the photos are nails that are 3 weeks old now !!!!! Look how good they look and all this was with acrylic overlay!! read more

Made last-minute (as in, the day before) pedicure appointments for myself and a friend. They were able to fit us in when we wanted to go, which is always appreciated. It's not a large space in terms of square footage, but they made good use of it. It was also busy when we walked in, which was a good sign! They seated us right away, which I also appreciated (as I've had experiences at other nail salons where you will wait a while even if you have an appointment). We must have just gotten basic pedicures, which were pretty fast but got the job done. I think we were in and out in just over half an hour! They have a great color selection, too (almost too many to choose from). The 'driers' they have for toes is just a fan, which was a little disappointing as I've seen more efficient setups at other places. It looked like they had higher level pedicures, as one woman next to us appeared to be getting more to her pedicure than we did. We were never offered a menu or a choice (either on the phone when I booked or when we arrived). Not really a complaint, just an observation, and I would be interested in going back to try a higher-level pedicure if available. My one pet peeve is not being able to book appointments online. This seems to be a theme with nail salons in the Chicago area and it bugs me. Not enough to keep me from going back, but worth mentioning. read more

I paid for a 50 min no chip pedicure and the woman didn't even spend a full 20 minutes. She took off my old polish, my feet were only in water for about 2 minutes, she spread salt scrub on my leg and took it off immediately, did not steam my feet, and there was no foot massage. This was the most crap, worthless pedicure I've ever had in my life. WAY too expensive for this ridiculous garbage!!! Never again. read more

I don't know why this place has so many good reviews. It's pretty dirty and the restroom is down the hall through the lobby near the trash room. The spa pedicure was like a regular one--no leg massage or anything special. I don't recommend. read more

My regular manicure lasted 1 day without chipping (I was on vacation so no dish washing/working out/etc). For $25 plus tip, I would skip. It only took 15 minutes, no hand massage, etc even though menu says it takes 30 minutes. read more

It was quick & we were walk -ins, but the sloppiest manicures my daughter & I have ever had. We both left with roughly filed nails, and really poor paint jobs...sides of our nails not painted, lumpy polish finish. I had to pre-pay & I didn't feel like they would do any better if we complained...my daughter & I had different techs & they both did a sloppy job. read more

I got a regular manicure and a pedicure, and the service was fairly quick. I liked that the staff took their time shaping my nails and applying the polish instead of rushing through it. The only thing I wish had been better was the massage. It felt a little short and could have used a bit more pressure. Unfortunately, about three days after my appointment, I noticed the polish had already started chipping at the tips of my nails, which was disappointing. Overall, the experience was pleasant, but I expected the manicure to last longer.

I was about 20 mins late to my appointment (my bad). They still did the manicure, but there was no time for design or the pedicure I had booked. Still, gel x for $70 is not bad, and it was overall a good experience. I would try it again!

They did both my manicure and pedicure at the same time, something I've never experienced before. The person doing my manicure sat off to the side of the pedicure 'chair' which meant I had to sort of awkwardly twist my body so he could reach both hands (while at the same time trying to keep my legs 'straight' for the pedicure). At one point he was sanding down my nails for the manicure at the same time the person doing my pedicure was exfoliating my feet. Well, I'm ticklish, and I warned of this at the beginning. So she's exfoliating my feet, and I keep 'jumping' because it tickles, while someone else has a Dreme tool on my hands. Like I said, stressful (though I will acknowledge doing both at the same time got me finished in record time. The person who did my pedicure cut my toenails realllllly short. She never asked if I wanted them cut or what was a good length (I did want them trimmed, but not that short). My nails were very uneven-both across different hands and on one nail. For example, my two thumbs have noticeably different nail lengths. Also, a couple of my nails are visibly uneven-if you look at them they 'slant' instead of going straight across (I asked for square nails). I might give them another shot, but would definitely want to do my hands and toes separately. Even still, I'm not sure, as the quality wasn't great.

Two other girls who did have appointments were also waiting to be serviced. I started to read how bad the gel is here and ended up walking out and leaving. Won't be going here ever again! Had really bad vibes!

I have been a faithful patron of Fashion Nails for years, but lately, a nail tech approached me near my home, prompting me to start using their services. It was a matter of convenience as it saved me time and commute. Although I had always preferred Kim at Fashion Nails, the new nail tech was just as competent and careful, taking his time removing my dip powder nails and being mindful of my natural nails' condition. However, when I visited Kim after months of not seeing her to have my nails removed due to new hobbies that required me to work with my hands, things did not go as expected. Kim's demeanor turned hostile as soon as I told her I needed the nails removed, rather than trimmed down. Although I understood her suggestion, it did not fit my needs at the time, and I needed my nails off completely. Despite Kim being my favorite technician, the experience was unpleasant, and her attitude was very disappointing. As she dug under the powder, trying to detach it from my nails, she was aggressive, felt pain and seen blood. The tone of her voice and the service she was providing, all disappointing! She did not allow my nails to soak for long, and as a result, dug under hardness of nails aggressively, causing me discomfort. (Very rushed) Her lack of attention and care left me feeling uneasy and unhappy with the service. As someone who has been a customer for years, I was not satisfied with the way things turned out, and her attitude left a bad taste in my mouth. Even though I am not a nail tech, I have a lot of experience getting my nails done, and her rushed approach made me nervous. Consequently, I will be seeking services elsewhere. read more

I would give this review 5 stars because Kim did an amazing job on my nails, however, my feet is a different story. I can in after work to get a full set and pedicure, the staff was very nice and I enjoyed my calming wait while soaking my feet. While doing my pedicure the bare minimum was done, my feet weren't scrubbed and hangnails were not removed as requested (she literally took the took and went around my big toe once) yet she massaged my feet. I asked for no chip for my nails and regular polish for my toes but I wanted it the same color. As I looked at my feet the pink looked like the no chip I asked for but when my nails were done I can tell it was 2 different shades & it bothered me. In total I paid about $45 extra outside of the gift card I had for the amount of $48. Yes, I was overcharged and once I realized it was too late to resolve the issue because she acted confused. Once again, I loved my nails but I wasn't satisfied with my feet and I don't appreciate being over charged. I will not return. read more

If you have natural nails don't go to this spot. I got my nails done November 2021 just before thanksgiving and my nails are still brittle and damaged. The nail tech was too lazy to soak the no chip nail polish off my nails with acetone and instead used the grinding machine which is usually used for acrylic nails. The store was really busy so she didn't care about the health of my nails just eager to get me out the chair. I thought she knew what she was doing but clearly not. After removing the nail polish I was told to wash my hands and at this point I notice how flimsy and bendy my nails were. She denied that it was her fault and said my nails were like that while causing a scene as other customers are looking at us argue. The next day my nails started breaking. I've had strong 1.5 inch natural nails until they ruined it. Going on 3 months and my nails keep breaking and chipping. They are also still very sensitive to touch because my nail beds are so soft. When I come into town (Chicago) this is the first place I go so I called Lin to have my nails done on Sat Jan 20, 24. (I should have done this last wk been so busy so I'm getting it done now) As always she is available or makes time to get me in. Lin is a great lady she and always greets me with a hug and a smile! I've been going here for a little over a yr now. im not from this area but in the area often for work and medical. From my first experience to my past experience nothing has changed besides her and I have become closer as not only me being a client but as a friend. I alwaus recommend Lin and fashion nails as a place to go and get treated well and great work done. I've meet the owner a few times throughout my visits there and hes just as nice, friendly and very professional...in my opinion this is by far the best experience and nail salon that I've been too. read more

Let me start by saying that I was super happy this place closes late. I broke off one of my nails at 7pm and needed to get it fixed asap. I used to go to this salon all the time until the person I got my nails done with quit. I was quoted after the lady had already taken off the polish from one of my nails. (I had one broken nail and wanted a no chip color change) the owner/manager said it was going to be $32, which I would've been ok with had they done a good job. I mentioned to the lady that the nail wasnt the right shape and she kept saying it was my nail not the extension. I gave up arguing with her and she put the polish on and I paid. Had I seen the person who looked to be in charge I would have mentioned it because as you will see in the pictures the work she did on the nail was horrible. The color is fine but we will see how long it lasts without chipping. read more

2nd time getting my nails done here and both times I have not been disappointed! Always greeted so nicely and the environment is definitely what you would need when you just want to unwind and pamper yourself. It was my first time getting Gel X nails so I was a bit nervous because I didn't know what to ask for. They were more than willing to explain the difference to me. Unfortunately, I did not get the name of the lady that did my first set of nails (which I adored BTW) and were perfect for Valentine's Day. She was busy the 2nd time I went around but I was happily helped by Tracy and she was absolutely amazing and did exactly what I wanted from the picture I showed her. John the manager was an awesome host and a Great promoter for Fashion Nails. Hannah was very professional , and Rachel was a sweetheart to come over and do my manicure while Hannah was still doing my pedi. I truly felt like a Queen !!!! In Indiana , I always request to have two technicians to pamper me , and I cant receive the service i'm requesting .At Fashion Nails this service was offered without me asking . I walked in very close to closing business hours , and Hannah did no rush or act like she was ready to go . I have finally found the perfect nail artist, and I can't recommend her enough! Jenny is, without a doubt, the best I have ever been to. Her skills are unmatched every set of nails she creates is a masterpiece. One of the things that set her apart is how quick and efficient she is. But despite her speed, she never compromises on quality. I am always amazed at how every set turns out. Best place to get nails done. Everyone is amazing but especially by Anna. I've been coming to her for about a year now and she has never disappointed me. I ask for crazy designs and she's able to do them all. We have an amazing relationship just talking as my nails are being done. She helps me with her opinions which are always on point. Anna picks the color I literally just show her the picture or describe what I want and she literally does perfect. Everyone there is so sweet. First time here, just walked in. They took me right away. Rachel did an excellent job! She removed my hard gel builder without damaging my natural nails, pushed and trimmed my cuticles expertly without any pain. Shortened and reshaped my nails (even my wonky nail that grows crooked!) so that they were all exactly the same length and shape and then gave me an elegant and classy hard gel French manicure. She was friendly and always checked to make sure I liked what she was doing. She was quick without skipping steps and the price was great! I'm definitely going back to see Rachel again! read more

I can't say enough good things about this place! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and relaxed. The salon is spotless, beautifully decorated, and has a calming atmosphere. My nail tech was incredibly skilled, gentle, and detail-oriented -- she really took the time to make sure everything was perfect. I've been coming here for about a month and a half. I love love love the service. Everyone is so talented, professional, and overall great at what they do. Huge thanks to the nail techs who have done my nails Lin and Anna. Everytime I see them my nails come out perfectly. Not only that they are very knowledgeable. I didn't know that it was time for a fresh set, Lin suggested this to me rather than allowing me to get the standard fill in and risking my nails prematurely chipping or even worse popping completely off. Really like this shop overall and they do a good job doing nails but each time I go, I receive the same service and am met with different pricing EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Was just in the store today and was charged an out of nowhere $5 fee. When I asked my tech why the price changed since my last visit, she said it was a fee to cut my nails shorter. She didn't cut my nails, only filed them down. I will not be back. Highly recommend for this store to follow their service prices listed online and maybe I'd be a loyal customer. read more

If you're looking for a good inexpensive manicure in convenient location, ask for Mary. She's the only person tere that's consistent with great quality. I had done less than great experience with few of their newer less experienced manicurists, but Mary delivers every time. Hey manicures last for overt a week and her hands and foot massages are so relaxing you wouldn't want to leave. Best part - i never had to wait for more than few minutes to get a service there. I called to ask how much it was going to be to get acrylic nails, white tip and they told me a price and when a friend and I got there, they charged me $5 more and my friend $10 more! We weren't going to give them much tip but they were standing there obviously expecting much more. They cut her finger it started bleeding a lot but they didn't even apologize, they made her cuticles bleed and they made my nails really rough and didn't redo them. I am never going there ever again, it was such a waste of my money. read more

John is the best GREETER. Literally made sure I was ok every 5 minutes. Made me feel important!! Sue did my Pedicure! SHE IS AMAZING. By the way me and my mom are super picky. I always have a wonderful experience every time I visit. During my visits they disinfected every chair after each client, and that really made me feel more comfortable than ever to continue to visit them during our current "situation". I always use Lin, but ALL of the ladies do an outstanding job with their clients. I would definitely recommend them if you are in need of any of their services.
