This place is great! I'm pushing 50 and this place brings the kid out in me. I'm back into RC cars and frequent this place a lot. A lot of their staff have a ton of knowledge. Competitive pricing. Only negative, they sell what looks like a lot of arrma RC's, but their inventory of arrma parts is fairly limited. They carry a ton of Traxxas. They can order any parts needed but would be nice if they expand their arrma part inventory. I recommend this place to people of all ages! read more

They appear to have great selection, however they are constantly out of parts. I've gone in there looking for basic parts, for popular cars and they've been out for weeks. I don't understand. Their service is pretty horrible, sometimes they're nice but all in all it's always a bad experience. The store layout is confusing and the employees aren't helpful. My biggest issue with this store is the staff. They are rude, ignorant and unqualified. They act as if they are intelligent radio control technicians but in reality they're just hobbyists themselves. They have zero expertise on what they give advice about. I'd much rather they ask me to do my own research than giving me the wrong answer. Their store owner is a horrible person and is extremely rude whenever you approach him. Only after spending thousands of dollars at his store will get him to even smile at you. This store has a HORRIBLE RETURN POLICY. It's seriously awful. I will say their location and showroom is quite impressive however. But save your time, money and frustration. I like this store. I like supporting local businesses, instead of buying from Amazon. However, their mask policy is very disappointing. I did not see any employees wearing them when I was there a week ago. It just seems like such as easy thing to do. Now I feel stuck between supporting a local business that is potentially adding to the spread of the virus, and buying from Amazon which puts local businesses out of business. They have started charging a 3.9% surcharge on top of their full retail prices for hobby supplies if you pay with credit. I have been going there for years, even before they changed locations, but will not be doing business with them in the future due to this new policy. I have purchased all rc products from this store over the years to support local before buying online. This shop has continued to get worse and worse with customer service. When waiting for someone to help grab parts behind the counter expect to wait over 30 minutes because anytime a regular customer comes in they will immediately help them instead of you. Today I purchased some parts and asked for my military discount and was asked are you in service or a dependent. I responded with dependent and was told why should you receive a discount for doing nothing. And was denied a discount with a valid military id. Recently moved to the area and needed some parts for an RC Rockcrawler. I was greeted as I walked in the door. Told them what I needed. Tony (manager I think) made a couple alternative suggestions. The other gentleman (heavyset middle aged guy) made it a point to drop what he was doing to ring me up. Never even had a wait. I should have just bought from them as they helped me fix the battery adapter and teached me how to properly charge the batteries. Today I spoke with chris from horizon hobby. This is the manufacture that the owner of fast track hobby claims to be a platinum dealer with. He was confused why dwight didn't diagnose the issue and order a new one on the spot considering the car is unmodified and 24hrs old. We spoke for several minutes about the issue. Chris apologized for any inconvenience and immediately shipped a new esc at no charge. Horizon understands customer service and appreciates their customers. I cannot say the same for dwight and fast track hobby. Amain hobby in chico and rc country in Rancho Cordova will be getting ALL my business here forward. read more

I drove all the way from Fairfield to visit this shop because it was the closest hobby shop I could find with the items that I wanted. I wasn't disappointed. Both of my kids had a blast running around looking at all the stuff, and I got a trip back in time. I even found the original RC car I had back in the early 80s. The employee I spoke to was able to help me out and give his opinion on the item I was asking for, and also point me in the right direction on a battery and charger for the car on building. If this place was any closer I'd probably be coming here once a weekend just to watch the slot car race. After watching the adults race their slot cars, and then some of the kids do it, my kid wanted to build a slot car of her own. Their selections are amazing for both parts and every hobby under the sun. I will be back. read more

Don't waste your time or money. The only thing separating brick and mortar stores from E-commerce business (online stores) is the customer service from employees: the value of accessing an actual human to answer questions: and the ability to hold the product you are interested in. This place offers none of the perks of a brick and mortar store. Instead, you get a seated employee that is eating his lunch in front of a bunch of other hobbyists working on some RC trucks and a half-assed "looking for something?". I also witnessed this guy treat a couple of kids like garbage and then use a dismissive tone to their grandpa that only wanted to get his kids another round on the race tracks in the back. Good luck staying open with your noncompetitive prices, restrictive access to the products, and absolutely absent customer service. The floor space of this location would be better serviced for an Amazon warehouse instead of this waste. This business would be better run out of this Guy's garage. Never coming back. This store caters more to the parts purchaser and crowd around that desk than literally any other person in store wanting to start new traditions and renewed interest in hobby rc. My son begged me for an RC plane and has never used it. Still in original packaging and again NEVER USED. I was never told there is a no refund policy. Which should be the first thing they tell you at check out. But they were too busy milling around a huge group of workers and 20 year old males buying parts than to service others in the store. Would never recommend this store, it's godawful service or inability to inform about purchases. But they will happily take your money once all the workers are done vaping and having a friends come visit me at work session all while during the pandemic before restrictions were lifted; not abiding by health codes and no one wore a mask. Backwards and unprofessional on every level. Go to Amazon or literally any other Mom N Pop brick n mortar RC store they will be fully professional grade quality which is what is expected in any business. read more

My son won some free passes from his school to race cars for 15 min and the place looked awesome when we first came in. A kid and dad paradise! We rented 2 cars for 15 min each and my oldest sons car didn't work almost the whole time my other son played with his car. Every time I went back to get new equipment the older brown haired heavy set man made me feel like it was my fault his stuff was broken. Finally we got a car to work and 1 min later my other sons car shut off. They didn't get to race each other 1 time or even enjoy the track together. Was hoping to make this place more of a ritual me and my sons could do together like I did with my dad when I was a kid, but after this experience one can only hope a new company comes into town and takes these guys out of business. Horrible customer service! I brought my Nitro car in to get it repaired. The guy told me it would take 3 hours to repair my ceased motor. I told him to do it. I am a hobbyist fom the Chico area. I have been searching for a Friendly Local Hobby Store or about a month now. Most suffer issues with warmth, friendliness, and supporting the hobby in the atore -- not fast track. I walked in and got a great energetic "hello" from an older gentleman, and then another introduction from one of the owners. There was a race going on and the guys seemed thrilled to show off their work to a granger. My girlfriend is still in Chico, soann weekdays I cook a dinner for one, then play video games with friends from Chico, or go hang out with coworkers. Went here the other day to let the boys (age 7) race the slot cars. We were set up by an older gentleman and off the cars went we were on our way to lots of fun...so we thought. One of the cars wouldn't take the turns well and kept flying off the track. I asked the older gentleman for a different car bc of it and he snapped at me with an attitude saying they need to slow down...yadda yadda...not sure what else he said. I asked him to help us and he came over still irritated telling the boys how to do it with a bad attitude. I said excuse me they are kids you don't have to be rude about it! (I was upset with his attitude) He took a second and the irritation on his face melted away. He apologized and said he hasn't had kids in 25 years and he guessed he forgot how it was. He was very polite and apologetic after I brought it to his attention. He took the time to show the boys how to drive so the cars stay on the track and he even started laughing and smiling with them. Sometimes people just have a bad day and we don't give them a chance to adjust when it's brought to their attention. After the boys had fun and was taught how to do it better we thanked him again for his time. He apologized again and I said no need you made it right. So long story short everyone has a bad day and experience every now and then. It's how you handle it that makes the difference. Cool place. The staff is very nice! You can rent a race car for $5 and race on one of their tracks.... my 3 year old loves it. They also offer birthday parties (how fun). I used to be a fan of Fast Track. Let me stop there, I was a fan of a couple employees and the owner. That being said as I write this please understand I have spent a couple thousand in this store. As an avid customer of RC Country I only recently returned to Fast Track at the new location. A few months ago to be exact. There are a few employees who rub me the wrong way. One is very arrogant and condescending. EVERYTIME I dealt with him he attempted to upsell me. Under the guise of "helping." Keep in mind I have been in the RC Plane/Heli hobby over a decade. I know my stuff and know what I want. That being said I always appreciate knowledge. Recently I have noticed a trend here. Even when I walk in and SAY EXACTLY what I want... they attempt to upsell me and if I show no interest in the upsell I am somehow no longer important. Last visit I was walked away from AND then the employee and the owner proceeded to talk about me in a negative way. I was out of ears reach luckily the person I was with (they were unaware of) heard every word. I will never return to this store again. Do yourself a favor head over to RC Country and ask for Rob or Joe. Polite knowledgeable and helpful. read more
