Compared to what most people probably come here for, my need was pretty small: three pieces of plywood each ranging from 4 to 6'. I dragged in an existing piece so I could explain what I was trying to do, and Bryan (almost positive that was his name) took me out back to suggest a few things. Because my toolbox at home is limited to a few screwdrivers, hammer and small hand saw he cut the three boards for me and they were the perfect sizes. I'm fascinated by places that are full of things I don't know anything about, so while he did the cutting I checked out all of the various types/sizes of wood and enjoyed how nice the place smelled. Forget Home Depot and just drive a few blocks over here!

They are much smaller in scale than a Home Depot, but offer more personalized service, and a faster and easier solution for most related needs. For example, when I purchased a gas grill from them, it was assembled and delivered on the same day of my order. They delivered it to my deck, ready to go. I needed to match a ten-year-old outdoor trim paint for my deck and didn't know what color was used. Not only did they scan it for a perfect match, but they also provided a free paint sample can (see photo) so I could test it. They provide one free paint sample per month if you're in their customer loyalty program. You can't get everything here, but you can get most things, and find them faster and easier than the giant box store alternatives. It looks like they are only located in Massachusetts, with 11 locations. I will return.
