I had pneumonia for 10 days, i went to this urgent care to get antibiotics. the nurse and doctor disregarded what i said i was feeling and basically told me to let it run its course. the doctor came in for less than 3 minutes, misdiagnosed me, and gave me cough medicine that literally did not do a single thing. it's actually funny how expensive this place is for how awful of care you're getting. i went to the AFC urgent care on wake forest rd 5 days later because (surprise surprise. i didn't get better!) and they were extremely helpful, caring, CHEAPER, and felt genuinely concerned about my case because of how bad it got. literally never go to this urgent care unless you want to not be listened to, pay $200, wait forever and get sugar pills. awful business. read more

Fast to bill incorrectly. Fast to move to collections. Impossible to get them to correct or take ownership of their own mistakes. Expect between 4 and 8 months whenever they make a mistake. They do make mistakes too. Basically 80% of the time. Always in their favor. Meanwhile they will do nothing to resolve the issue. You will be placed between them and your insurance. FastMed will never ever apologize or do anything to help you. Unfortunately, this is the new way of business in the US. Get used to it. Poorly trained support. Unprofessional behavior. The irony that this place is called "FastMed" and is anything but is not lost on me. They apparently don't take walk-ins; make you schedule an appt online and fill out paperwork online. They won't honor said appt time so it doesn't matter. Literally kept me waiting for 50 minutes in waiting room and when I asked what the deal was they said wait is always an hour. Um, huh? Went for COVID test. I'm vaxxed but have a cold and wanted to be safe rather than sorry. They swabbed my nose then left the room holding the swab - not placing in a protective tube or anything before leaving. Made me wait another 20 min to "see the dr" which I said I didn't need to do because I was LITERALLY just there for a Covid test. They insisted, saying it's protocol. (Is that code for being able to bill my insurance for a full urgent care visit vs a rapid test??) PA finally came in to see me. Didn't wash hands. Didn't wear gloves. Did exam and THEN tells me my results are negative. End scene. Never going back. read more

My husband and I were in town to visit an elderly family member. While there, my husband developed severe pain in his stomach and could not urinate. We went to this urgent care location and the doctor didn't even touch my husband and just diagnosed him with a urinary tract infection. I understand that listening to a patients symptoms can tell the doctor a lot of information but never even touching his stomach to see where the pain was coming from or performing ANY kind of exam is UNACCEPTABLE. Upon our arrival home we went to the emergency room of our local hospital and my husband was diagnosed with a prostate issue...NOT a urinary tract infection and the doctors prescribed proper treatment! Had the doctor at this incompetent urgent dare center performed the slightest exam on my husband she would have been able to PROPERLY diagnose him. We will be reporting this lack of patient card to the medical board of North Carolina! read more

This Fast Med is not fast at all. It is SLOW as heck. I came in for a drug screen and waited over an hour and I had to grab something from my car and they said if I walk out it will be considered a refusal because I was signed in to take a drug screen. I said well can I pee? They said there is a wait. Clearly this place needs better management on how to prioritize services. Drug screen should be IN AND OUT! I don't have a regular doctor and surprise! I ran out of medication and my pharmacy didn't warn me when I was on my last refill- thanks target pharmacy. So the late night quest to find somewhere that opened early and wouldn't kill my wallet began. I have now been here twice and both times there was almost no waiting what so ever. the second time I came and was worried about a broken wrist and a broken knee (potentially) and was x-rayed immediately and my friendly doctor even wrapped both my wrist and my knee once we found out it was just a sprain. Although, now that I am having back problems I may just run back in... As a tip- if you don't have insurance or a regular doctor (I don't have either) ask them about their discount card. I was in the waiting room/Lobby for about 2mins before I was called back. The MA Alfie was awesome, he was fast and kind as well as every genital. I would recommend the APEX clinic to anyone. I had an appt at FastMed in Mesa AZ - Power rd/Superstition springs I arrive as requested - at least 10 mins early. Had done the online check-in, uploaded my insurance and ID. I waited in the waiting room over 25 mins and then they moved me to a room...35 mins later i opened the door and a Dr. was just outside. I told him I had an appt and hour ago....said sorry, haven't looked at your chart. I closed the door and called my husband to advise i still hadn't been seen. BTW this was a simple nasal swab for covid. When the doctor heard me on the phone, which he could because I could clearly hear him with another patient, he came back in to tell me there were still 3 people ahead of me. I left.... read more

Honestly, I wish I could give them zero. I went in for a random drug screen by my employer and they were complete idiots. First, I had to wait almost an hour to be seen. They didn't take my insurance off the form. And then they didn't tell me where to sign the forms at the end so I needed to go all the way back to my work to get a new form and redo the entire test. Made an appointment for a Covid test at the Glenwood Ave location. They charged me $329 for a test that I received for free from CVS or anywhere in Wake County. Ask the price before you go and I would suggest you get your Covid testing anywhere but here. They were 15 min late and then had me sit in the room for 30 min waiting on the nurse to ask me a few questions. Not sure what the scam is but $329 for a Covid test is shameful during the midst of a pandemic. Shame shame Fastmed. read more

Avoid this place at all cost! This is the worst place ever. I came in due to some hemorrhoidal pain I was having. They prescribed me some over the counter cream and pretty much sent me on my way. They told me that they were going to put in a referral to a specialist and that the specialist was going to reach out to me. I never heard from anyone and it's been like two weeks. The discharge papers assured me that I would hear from someone or to call that FastMed office back if I didn't. When I called FastMed, whoever answered the phone was so rude. They pretty much tried to call me a liar and didn't believe that I was referred a specialist. After reading to her what the papers said, she told me that someone would call me back. I knew she just wanted me off the phone. I'm upset that they disregarded my situation like it was nothing. I expressed the pain I was in and for them to lie and said they were going to refer me to a specialist, is very sad. They don't care about you at all. I'm so glad that I went with my gut, and found a specialist myself, and made my own appointment. If I would've depended on FastMed, I would've never seen or heard from a specialist. DON'T COME HERE!!!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID! I would give them negative stars if I could. read more

Since my GP was closed by the time I felt truly miserable so I booked an appointment online for FastMed. To my surprise when I arrived there was no one else in the waiting room and within 5 minutes I was in a room with a nurse. The PA that came in answered the questions I had, prescribed some antibiotics and also made additional suggestions for treatment. The whole process took about half an hour which is how long you may normally sit in the waiting room. I definitely suggest them to anyone, especially since the pollen is horrible right now! read more

Unbelievable incompetent staff now here. Daughter had severe adverse event with med they prescribed. Called 20 mins before closing. Told we would get return call. No response. Called front desk back 5 mins before close. Told now they had to see her but closing. Told we needed to arrive before close. Center few minutes from house and could have arrived with appropriate initial guidance. Obviously were not intending to call back and interested in leaving. Confused and lack concern. Been customer for years. Not any more. Too many choices for med center with poor front desk staff. read more

I would give this place less than 1 star if I could. I live in Washington state and visited this urgent care center in Cary, NC on June 30th, 2017 when I was there visiting family. Right as I was signing in, I asked the woman at the front desk if she could tell me if my insurance would cover the visit. She said she didn't know if it would or wouldn't, but that if it didn't, my cost would probably be between $100 to $150 without insurance. I was coming in because my ears were completely blocked up from an infection and I was worried about getting on the plane to return home with them in this condition. I spent a good 20 or 30 minutes in the waiting room, even though I was the only person I could see there. When I was finally brought back to have my vitals taken, the machine they use for checking blood pressure kept squeezing and depressurizing my arm over and over because it couldn't get a reading. My arm was bright red and throbbing by the time the machine was finally finished. I met with a Nurse Practitioner with the last name of Lore who quickly checked inside of my ears and diagnosed me with an ear infection for which I was prescribed antibiotics. She was in the room with me for less than 10 minutes. I finally got my bill for the service on August 23, 2017, almost a full two months after I had my appointment. I was charged for a "99204" office visit code, which is defined as an appointment having a comprehensive history, comprehensive exam, and moderate complexity medical decision-making for the doctor, or 45 minutes spent face-to-face with the patient if coding based on time. They charged $270 for this kind of appointment, and of course my insurance did not cover it since I was out of state. This urgent care center did something calling upcoding, which is assigning an inaccurate billing code to to increase reimbursement. I had an appointment that lasted less than 10 minutes in which only my ears were checked. I should have been billed for a "99201" or "99202" appointment. Of course they waiting almost 60 days to send me a bill, which after 60 days they state that they may send your debt to collections, giving me almost no time to fight being incorrectly charged. I tried calling their billing department which gave me an automated voicemail that no one was available to talk to me, but if I left a message they would get back to me within one business day. I left my voicemail and surprise surprise it has been over one business day and no one has called me back. Upcoding is illegal and a form of fraud, unfortunately it is very hard to fight even if I was able to get someone from the billing department on the phone with me. I would never recommend anyone visit this place. read more

This is my first time here. This was Saturday morning. Performed online check in. I walked in 5 mins before check in time. Front office had me fill in details because it was my first time. It was simple and smooth . Once done had to wait 10mins. Was called inside had my preliminary evaluation. Waited another 10mins for NP then got checked was diagnosed and prescribed meds. The staff were courteous and well spoken. I had a good experience overall and would use the facility again when required. Now I did read all the negative reviews after performing the online check in was skeptical but am happy it al worked out. read more

Very poor quality service overall. We were pretty much ignored when we entered the facility and eye contact wasn't made by the lady at the front desk for more than 5 minutes as I stood there waiting to see what paper work was needed to be seen. I was the only person at the desk. Once we were taken back, the service was prompt but it took an hour to be seen with almost no one in the waiting room. The nurse in the back did not appear to know what she was doing and struggle to do basic nurse tasks. We got very little information and the only value we got out of the service was prescription order that was placed. I would highly recommend that you find another provider. Just left the FastMed at Cornerstone. There didn't seem to be very many patients, but after 90 minutes in the waiting room, they still had my ID and insurance card and hadn't yet typed in the new patient information. We called another medical office and they offered to see us right away, so we asked for the ID back and left. For offering no explanations for the delay and no status updates, no apologies and for a generally indifferent/grumpy front desk rapport, FastMed earned the lowest rating. (I should also mention that it should not be necessary to sign the same new patient form in 5-6 places. ) read more

Billing department is awful. If you have an issue or a claim has to be resubmitted forget it. They continued to bill me even after my insurance updated the claim showing I owed $0, tried to call and message for weeks and no response. Then they turned me over to collections and again couldn't get through to anyone or get a response so had to make a payment I didn't owe to avoid my credit being affected. In the end they finally updated my account to show I owed nothing. Now I've been trying to get back my money that they acknowledge they owe me and my account shows it as well......two months. Nobody every calls, when they respond to my online inquiry it's answering one question out of 5 and it's never correct information I found out a week later. I've been dealing with a Nancy B and Jill W. One week they say it's going out by check, the next that it has been refunded to my card...... still nothing. I even filed a BBB complaint and BBB was ignored by this company. Now I've had to dispute the charge with my card. Nobody has ever apologized for the wrong information or the fact that they have told me lie after lie or just for their lack of response in the beginning that created this whole issue where they owe me a refund. I went there for lab tests and asked for the price including lab costs. A couple months later I get different bills from both fastmed and the lab with completely different amounts. Hidden fees everywhere. Horrible experience. read more
