I'm reposting my review of this horrible doctor Nadia and my experience today. Apparently, my post was removed earlier today. My mother who's a nurse might I add saw this urgent clinic on her way to work and told me to see if they would take my medicaid there. At first I spoke on the phone with a very nice woman whom assured me I'd be seen for the issues I was having and they took medicaid. I was happy because I'd finally get to know if my tibia which has been broken for 3 months now if it was healed finally. I waited for a while but didn't mind because I was anxious to find out if I could finally be able to drive and start work and remove the walking boot I was put in on Nov 28th. Finally it was my turn to see the doctor. They took all my vitals and even took a urine specimen which I was relieved and then I wait for the PA NADIA OR NYDA however you spell it. I was really hopeful. When she came into the room she immediately told me she had tons of other patients (which was a lie as the waiting room was empty) and she could only check my urine or my broken leg I've had for 3 months. At this point I wanted to break down into tears. I tried really hard to not cry and explained I have had a bad urinary tract infection for months now my previous doctor over looked and that my leg has been broken for 3 months which my previous doctor claimed would be only 6 weeks. She didn't care and again told me she was too busy and I had to pick which one I was there for. This was not said to me on the phone by the very caring understanding front desk on the phone. She then made me take off my boot and made me walk around to see how I walked without any information on the break I had or if it was still broken! She started talking down to me saying why haven't you seen a orthopedic doctor which I responded with i had no insurance and she kept making me feel horrible about it and I explained I had been to the doctor many times even went to the ER a few times and have had many x rays and was waiting for the office to call me back about seeing a specialist then she asked when did I talk to them and i explained today...I told her I was frustrated with them because they claimed it would take 2 years to see an orthopedic doctor because I wasn't covered under any insurance at the time but no one told me that until today. I just was covered under medicaid recently. She really made it clear she didn't care and that I shouldn't be in this boot for soo long and im 6 weeks over due. I explained I was doing what my doctor instructed me to do. She didn't show any signs she cared at all! She said she would order an x ray and left the room. At that time I messaged my mother who again is a nurse and told her how upset I was and on the verge of tears and how I could only get my leg looked at or my urinary tract infection. My mother came into the room and we decided to go else where due to this PA NADIA'S lack of ethics..and then the x ray tech came in not sure of his name whom had doctor orders to x ray the wrong foot none the less. I clearly had a walking boot on the broken leg the doctor supposedly accessed...finally we said we are leaving this being the last straw and he literally said GOOD that's it didn't try to handle the situation and reassure me that they will take care of me and my medical concerns. He just said GOOD and walked out. My mother asked who the doctor was I saw and she sat there staring at her computer without a care and when I said it was her she looked like she didn't know what I was talking about but then was short and rude and had NO medical ethics at all. If they try to bill me for leaving I will be calling a lawyer. Do not go to this place it's absolutely horrifying how they profile their patients for having medicaid or for having colored hair, piercings and tattoos probably assuming I was seeking drugs. I have NEVER EVER BEEN TREATED SOO POORLY IN MY LIFE BY A DOCTOR AND STAFF. Please avoid this place I left in tears and came home and cried some more. It's bad enough I've suffered for 3 months but this isn't okay to be treated soo poorly. This just happened might I add. read more

Went in yesterday for a hurt lower back issue. The staff was very friendly and makes you feel at ease. They get you in pretty quickly. affordable pricing as well. Will definitely go back and recommend to others. I'm already feeling better today too! read more

The only reason I am rating a one is that of the two support staff that checked us in.. My husband hates going to the doctor and once I convinced him to go, we chose this place since it's closer to home and it was after 5 pm. First, they put us in a dirty room which all they did was tore off the paper from the exam room no disinfecting what so ever waited for about 10-15 minutes then here come the PA( which I won't name). Gave her his symptoms 3 to be exact and we mention our daughter was + for strep, she proceeds to tell my husband oh yeah you have the strep breath (which she laughs). I thought to myself rude much but okay whatever. We get his results and his summary report and leave. Once i get to the car I start reading the report just because i work in the medical field and I am always curious and a little nosey oh how they document. Then i realize this PA added about 9 more complaints then what we discussed. I called spoke with the nice Ma that worked him up explained the situation, she was very understanding and apologetic and was going to speak to the PA and would return my call. Then PA called basically calling us liar saying i did discuss all this with him, I informed her umm i was in the same room none of this were mentioned. I would like them removed. We caught her in a lie and i wasn't about to waste my time arguing with, so i started i will call the office manager tomorrow and ended the call. We will never go back again. read more

lady at front desk was unnecessarily rude! no need to be a bitch to patients for absolutely no reason. reconsider the people you hire.

The Staff of the FastMed Clinic in Kyle were very professional courteous fast and efficient would recommend this clinic to anyone

I presented for right foot pain and was seen by the P.A. The good part of the visit - I was seen promptly. Front staff, tech, and nurse were courteous. X-ray was done and no fractures noted. I received an IM injection of Toradol and I am to follow-up if symptoms do not improve. My concern stems from the "assessment" by the P.A. At no point did she examine my foot, no hands on assessment. This was even after I pointed out that I had a lump on my right foot. She said, nothing showed up on x-ray. No attempt was made to examine this lump. I was provided with patient education handouts, however no one reviewed the information with me. This was not essential for me since i am a healthcare professional, however they did not know that. It should not be assumed that the patient knows the information, every patient deserves an explanation of discharge instructions. My other concern is the documentation in the clinic note. It states a long list of symptoms noted as negative. At no point did anyone do a review of systems asking me about said symptoms. As a healthcare professional with background in quality and risk management, this is disturbing. My hope is that the supervisors for this clinic review the above information and work on some professional and process improvement. read more

I went to an urgent care named FastMed urgent care. I must express the people are outstanding. I had a short wait time and was greeted by a gentleman named Robert. He was sweet and very professional. I went there due to an ankle fracture. The medical assistant named Ariz Vallades. She brought me in to the room and immediately put me in a wheelchair. I was definitely a fall just waiting to happen. She then explained everything in great detail. She took me down and did my X-ray. She spent a lot of time repositioning my ankles and taking pictures. Just a few minutes after I was put back in my room the physician assistant came in. Her name was Suzanne Self. She was kind and very knowledgeable. She took her time with me and explained how a boot-cast works. Any time I go to a new doctor I never tell them my previous medical career history. In a weird way it's how I grade them without them knowing. I just don't want them to treat me any different than other patients. Unbeknownst to them I'm an CNA of 18 years. And let me tell you when they did everything right they definitely deserve a good reference. I would recommend this urgent care to anyone. They're efficient fast, and above all else they have your best Intrist at heart. read more

The building itself is very nice! However, I went this 'urgent care' expecting to be tested for the flu...Well apparently the flu is not important to this facility and they do not even carry the flu test. Super disappointing considering every other urgent care I have been to will test you for the flu. read more

I'm giving 4 stars because I used the online checkin and showed up 20 minutes early and apparently they still do first come first serve and the online checkin doesn't affect it, so I still spent over an hour in the waiting room. However when it came to only me in the waiting room they staff was very accommodating. I was in because of a cut on the bottom of my foot from the day before, the man at the desk came out and looked at it and then sent a nurse out to come wrap it before I was even called back. They put me in a special room for wound care and were only slightly judgmental that I waited 24 hours before seeking medical treatment and that I hadn't had a tetanus shot in 12 years. Overall I was there maybe 2.5 hours but the last 30 min or so was them just keeping me there to make sure I didn't pass of from the shot or from having my foot reopened and glued back together. The time was a little ridiculous but I think a long wait/visit is expected for anything that isn't a primary care dr or specialist. read more

My experience was very pleasant and comfortable. The staff was accommodating, professional and welcoming. My wait time was a breeze which surprised me since Urgent cares are first come first served or hurry up and wait facilities. Patient confidentiality was displayed, a huge plus! My bill was accurate and matched my EOB, definitely another plus!! If needed, I will return and recommend this location. read more

Don't waste your time here. It takes forever and they say you have to have your insurance card in hand to use your insurance. I've never ever heard of that before. We've tried to go here twice now and both times they where less than helpful. Goto the new Kyle ER across the highway. They are great! read more

If i could rate this 0 i would! Avoid this place at all costs. My husband went in with serious concerns and symptoms. He saw Dr. Karen Merkel she is the absolute WORST doctor I've encountered she quickly glanced at him didn't even touch the area where they symptoms were presenting, it was a quick glance, didn't perform any type of physical assessment, touch or feel around the area. She was in there for maybe 2-3 minutes if that and rushed my husband out by quickly prescribing something without any further testing. Nothing he said mattered as all she did was yap we literally could not get a word in. She was careless and did absolutely nothing to help. read more

If I could leave no stars I would. I was seen today at the Fastmed urgent care in Kyle, Texas. I went in having already received a flu diagnosis earlier in the week. When I came to the counter there was paper work with another patients information sitting there so I stood there assuming the man sitting at the desk was still busy from a previous patient. At this time there were 2 other people in the waiting room and all had been helped to some degree already. He asked how he could help me (without moving that paperwork) and I explained that I had the flu but was concerned about seeing blood when I coughed as well as some shortness of breath. He immediately responded with, "How would you know that you have the flu?" in a very rude and condescending tone of voice. I told him that I had been diagnosed earlier in the week. He then asked me in the same tone, "Then what do you need to be seen for?" I explained to him that my doctor told me if I had worsening symptoms to be seen and that the blood/shortness of breath situation were new symptoms. He asked me what color the blood was. I explained that some was dark, some was bright red. He insinuated that it was pointless I be seen because I had obviously been coughing and that would make my throat bleed. I told him I had a history of pneumonia and have a sick child and spouse at home and I needed to be sure that I wasn't developing this again. He asked for my ID and Insurance Card and handed me some forms to fill out. He refused to touch my cards because I am sick (which I can understand). He left it sitting on the counter while he called another patient up to the counter. This other patient had a full view of all of my personal information which he in no way attempted to remove from the other patients line of site. I paid my $75 copay and was seen about 15 minutes after giving my paperwork back. When I was brought back to the room a very nice woman took my vitals and told me the PA would be with me soon. I waited a few more minutes and the PA came in. I unfortunately do not remember her name but I certainly wish I did. She came in, in a rush, asked me a few questions, explained away my symptoms before even listening to my lungs. She listened to my lungs for maybe 10 seconds asking me to take deep breaths which induced coughing fits. She then stopped listening and said everything sounded fine. I wasn't satisfied with that exam so I tried to explain to her what I had been seeing in my cough. She again told me it was probably from drainage and that my lungs were fine. I said "Ok, Great." then asked her to take a quick look at my ears as my left one has been really painful and I wanted to be sure that it was just fluid from the flu (Ya know, while I was there might as well be thorough). She looked in my ears and said there was no fluid they looked great and that it must be sinus pressure. I thanked her and she sent me to the waiting room to wait for my discharge paper. I was with her less than 2 minutes total. She brought me my papers and I left. When I got home I looked over my papers. The first error I found was that she put that my mucus was "Clear/White with blood flecks." This is nothing at all like I described what I was seeing. I have been seeing thick, green, and heavily blood filled mucus since about 5 AM this morning, which I explained to her. She also has listed that I am a 1/2 pack a day current smoker. I am not, nor have I ever been a 1/2 pack a day smoker! Fast forward about 70 minutes and my ear began leaking fluid. I find it impossible to believe that my ear was perfectly fine a little over an hour before and is now causing me extreme pain and has fluid coming from it. I was not seeking medication that isn't necessary. I did not want any type of pain medication. I am a nursing mother and would prefer no medication if possible. I simply wanted to be sure that I was not getting worse as I have a sick family to care for. She was absolutely no help whatsoever and the biggest waste of $75 I have ever spent. I am now faced with going to the emergency room and spending more money to deal with the symptoms I should have been treated for at the urgent care. read more

I have been in the medical field for 15 years and personally have worked for Urgent Care facilities as well as free standing ERs in multiple cities and I have never encountered, been a party to, or heard of a policy that it is ok to turn away a patient because the facility closed in half an hour. My spouse came into the Kyle clinic at Exactly 8:27pm walked up to check in and without even opening his mouth was immediately informed that your clinic was no longer seeing patients. The associate that told my husband he wasn't going to be given the opportunity to be seen by a clinician, looked over her shoulder as if she was looking for approval. I found out that the individual she was looking @ was the provider and that this is who decided my spouse wasn't going to receive care. No one asked my husband what was going on, how he was feeling, nor did anyone show any type of concern for his well being. This is my biggest concern. I can look past the inconsiderate unprofessionalism, but I would not want this type of disconcerting behavior to continue and inevitably a staff member turns away a chest pain or severe abdominal pain and the situation ends badly for someone. I can say that as a fellow member of the medical community, it is my first concern if a patient is ok, then if necessary turn them away. Unfortunately we left without my spouse ever being given the opportunity to open his mouth. read more

The people who work here were very nice. Unfortunately they are very understaffed . I was there approximately 3 hours and it was a bit unorganized. I'm not sure why but I feel like they forgot about me. I was not the last person called back but I'm fairly sure I was the last to leave. FastMed is not fast. They had 1 PA, 1 nurse, and 1 combination receptionist/x-ray technician. The main office should try and staff this facility so these poor people can get patients taken care of in a timely manner. I had to go back to this horrible place to follow up on my last visit. It was worse than the first time. Told there was a 5 hour wait but I could leave & they would call me when my turn was close. Instead of calling me they texted my home phone (ha) instead of my cell phone. Instead of picking up the phone & dialing the number they just kept texting (wrong!!) Had I not called after 5 hours I would still be sitting at home 12 hours later. If I could give 0 stars I would. Don't go here, you'll be sorry!! read more

I was here visiting from California & became ill with bronchitis/cough. I called FastMed to see if I could get in right away. Spoke to John, the front office manager & he assured me they would work with me. He was very nice, knowledgeable & easy to speak to as well as the professionalism of Joe & Adam in the back office. The entire staff showed courtesy. I would definitely recommend this facility. read more

I took my 2 year old in that has a pink eye for several days. I was treating it with meds and it wasn't getting any better and always worse in the morning extremely red, watery, puffy, and no discharge. After speaking with a nurse they suggested an urgent care if he wasn't able to get into his primary. I took him into Fastmed and the Dr there didn't even evaluate him. She didn't examine his eye or eyelids for irritation or scratches, she didn't exam his ears, nose or throat. Pretty standard stuff I would assume. She came in and said it was pink eye and was going to prescribe ointment. I told her he was on ointment and she said then it may be viral and take the ointment anyway as it may work better than what he was on. No further explanation on what to do. Next day it was worse and I tried again to pick up the ointment from pharmacy but it was never sent in. I called fastmed to get them to send it and try and get a manager on the line to tell them my experience and receptionist was kind but did not want to transfer me and suggested I just try the ointment first. I was frustrated and instead of my son suffering another day I was able to get him into his primary Dr same day. After they examined him they saw he had an ear infection and the pink eye and treated for both. He was noticeably better the next day. I wish someone would've talked to me about this. Fastmed was a waste of time and money. read more

Consider going to a veterinarian before going to the Kyle location. After checking in with the receptionist who continued to text on her phone while ignoring me at the counter I waited for two hours before inquiring the wait to be seen. Again I was ignored until she had finished her text and was then advised that she had not checked me in which began my wait time. Considering the total lack of professionalism, filthy lobby area and lack of concern I walked out. Please protect your family and do not visit this location. read more

Please, please, please do not bring your children here or come here yourself. I paid $185 yesterday to get my daughter seen here. They prescribed an oral steroid and said we would see some improvement within 5 hrs. They also had us fill a prescription. 24 hrs later and my daughter has not improved. I take her back to the clinic to tell them the medicine didn't work and asked them to please give her something stronger. The were happy to oblige but only if I PAID ANOTHER $150!!! You have to be kidding me. I will never come here again and I suggest you don't either. read more

My family and I have gone to the FastMed Urgent Care clinic MANY times in the past 2 1/2 years that we have lived in Kyle and have always received great care... until TODAY! I came in right at opening time and was the first in line with my sick 2 year old. I filled out all of the paperwork and the lady at the front desk said she needed to collect payment for the co-pay. I gave her cash and she said she could not take it because they did not have change. I asked her for a solution and she shrugged and said "sorry we can't see her until you pay." I asked if she was seriously telling me they would not see my sick child because THEY did not have change. She shrugged again and said "go to a gas station and get change, then come back later." At this point there were people next in line and this *bright idea* would mean I would have to lug my sick toddler out of the place, go somewhere else to get money, bring her back, and then wait LONGER because the people behind me were now ahead of me. I suggested that she go get change instead, and she shrugged at me again and gave me back my insurance card. I was forced to leave and am now trying to find another urgent care facility. This is RIDICULOUS and UNACCEPTABLE. This has never happened to me in the history of me paying for ANYTHING anywhere in the world. and now my sick child has a delay in health care. You've lost a very good, loyal customer. Thanks for nothing. read more

I took my 2 1/2 year old daughter here on Sunday 9/4/16 to be testing for a UTI. The staff was courteous and our visit was quick. She was given an antibiotic to treat her UTI and is doing much better after being sick for almost 3 weeks with a virus which has resulted in the UTI. We even spent a day at DELL a week and a half earlier where she needed to get IV fluids. The clinic called me on 9/6 and 9/7 to check in and follow up which is more than what her own pediatricians office did who by the way told me she probably didn't have one and chose not to test her when we had to take her back in on Friday and then we were at urgent care Sunday. I had no issues with paperwork handed my insurance card and bank card and was in and out in less than an hour. read more

I cut my finger and hand pretty good and went to this place. The front desk was nice, empathetic and helpful before I saw a physician. The physician was great and took immediate action and in no time I was on my way. This place is great and if I have another medical emergency that does not require hospital care I would gladly go there again. read more

Dr. Ayala has been excellent. Fast response and great service. She really likes and is very attentive. Will gladly return.

I went to FastMed on a Sunday. I thought they closed at 5:00, but I doubled checked and they closed at 6:00 so I went on in expecting to be turned away since it was so close to closing time. I got there at 5:30 and there were three people ahead of me. I still was greeted warmly, despite being close to their closing time (Thanks, Shanan!) and they took me back to the exam room at 5:55. I kind of thought I'd be rushed through, but the PA Nadia was very thorough and took her time, and asked the x-ray tech Ryan to do x-rays at 6:15. He was kind and respectful, even conversational. I was diagnosed with pneumonia (which my primary care doctor had missed twice), and I was given medication right then and given a prescription to be filled the next day. They waited with me until almost 7:00 to make sure I didn't have a bad reaction to the medication. It's worth mentioning that I had a 102.8 fever and a terrible cough and I looked awful. I could barely speak. I was still treated so well and with such respect. Not only would I go back to this location for urgent care, but I wish they were set up to be primary care providers. read more
