Time & again, the best places are in the most humble locations. Original Pizza is in a dated strip mall on Park Boulevard. Upon entry, you are whisked into a time capsule from the 1980s. Nostalgia will set in as you enter a true Northeast mom-&-pop pizzeria. The owners were as kind as can be. Their names are Carlos & Liz, & they offer a true New York pizza experience. Wonderful and cute local place! The service was excellent; friendly and accommodating, and the food was great. We tried a hamburger and pepperoni pizza, steak and cheese hoagie and hot wings. We really enjoyed everything we ordered. The sandwich bread and pizza dough are made fresh daily in house. I requested the wings cooked extra crispy and they were happy to accommodate. We just moved to the Seminole area from Tampa. I came home craving pizza and whipped into the local Racetrac to park and see what cheesy delicacies were available in the area. The sun burning through my soul, I came across Original Pizza II. The stakes were high, but I decided to double down because the pictures of the pizza on other people's reviews looked savory... plus the 4.5 star with 50 reviews rating on Apple Maps looked solid.. I figured it was worth the gamble.. and dang, did I hit. This is easily the best pizza I've had in the area and we've tried several. I don't live in the area, but other family do, so I have ordered take-out here three times now. The pizza is excellent, NY-style, foldable, with plenty of cheese and a decent sauce. The subs are great too. They don't skimp on the meat and you can definitely tell the bread is homemade. We also ordered a large salad and it was really fresh and far better than you would expect from most pizza joints. My only warning is that one Saturday night, I really wanted to place another take-out order from here, and their phone just rang "busy" for almost 20 minutes! Really enjoyed the pizza! Great sauce to cheese ratio, nice crispy texture, and the portion was generous with plenty of toppings evenly applied (I got a large with pepperoni, salami, and tomatoes.) Having a pie like this is eye opening when you compare against national franchise brands. So happy I didn't settle for a lesser pizza. The guy who answered was friendly so I went for good old reliable when trying out a new pizza joint- pepperoni pie with garlic knots. Both were good, not great, nothing special, nothing memorable. I am a harsh critic as I travel the country for work and eat pizza all over the place. The pizza gets 4 of 5 stars. I got a meat lovers and a cheese. The flavor is by far the best I've had in florida, very flavorful sauce and seasoning for both pizzas. The only reason this did not get 5 stars was because of the crust. The flavor was amazing, the texture was not great. Too thin at the pizza's center which caused the pizza to be slightly soggy from the grease. However, It was not bad enough to keep me from coming back. Like I said this is BEST tasting pizza I've had in florida, ever. The service is outstanding, very polite and professional staff both in person and on the phone. This is a take out place so as far as the ambiance is concerned imagine an old school takeout pizza window in New York. This is a "got to try" if you are in the area. read more

I've tried several places and was content with their run-of-the-mill, mass - produced pizza that all tasted the same - mediocre at best. OPII is not that place. I'm not a big fan of NY style pizza but that's really all you can get in FL. With that being the case, this is the best pizza you're going to get in central Pinellas. The toppings fall off when you pick it up so you know they give good value. I don't have enough people to feed to order a Sicilian pizza, so I can't review that. We have been enjoying Original Pizza for many years. It's always delicious with generous toppings. The bottom crust is always crispy, never soggy. We also enjoy their eggplant subs. I've never ordered it as a dinner, but I'm sure it would be as delicious as their sub. I'm under the impression they make their own bread too. We typically have our pizza delivered, so I can't comment on the ambiance. Our pizza arrives hot within an hour. I don't think there is a table service. read more

Best pizza I've had in a very long time! The seating is limited as there are only two tables, one two-seater and one four-seater, and a bar that seats 4. This would be great for a quick lunch slice at the bar, otherwise I suggest takeout or a non peak hour! The decor is adorable Coca-Cola memorabilia. The customer service is phenomenal! Carlos(the owner) is a downhome genuine guy! The pizza was amazing. Very fresh ingredients were used and the dough is made in house daily. I asked for mine to"be left on the stone" for a while. Extra crispy! Delicioso! They offer 5 varieties of bottled beer. Ice cream and cheesecake for dessert sometimes cannolis are available. MENU: 5 stars. Original Pizza's menu is pretty straightforward: they offer pizza. It's not that hard to make good pizza, but man is it easy to make crappy pizza. Fortunately, Original makes its pizza pretty darn good. It took about 15 minutes to prepare (I called ahead). They had some other things like subs, hoagies, calzones, and the like. If I'm in the area again I'll these other things. MOOD: 4 stars. This is as much a hole-in-the-wall as you'll ever see. It's tiny, offers very little to no place to sit and eat, and it's not especially appealing to look at. But it's a straight up pizza joint that doesn't attempt to offer any frills along with it. It's like the excellent pizza makes up for the fact that there's not much else. And I can dig it. LOCATION: 2 stars. It's in a strip mall, and an unsavory one at that. That area on Park isn't the nicest, and Original Pizza makes no attempt to class or jazz it up. I'd never even knew this place existed, and I'd have never found it if I wasn't specifically in the mood for pizza and didn't mind searching. The restaurant is not terribly facile to find as it's buried between two ethnic shops. They could use a stronger advertising sign. STAFF: 5 stars. The front counter lady was pretty nice. They have a minimum amount to use a credit card, which is totally reasonable, since it probably costs the restaurant a small fee if it's under $5. I only had my card and no cash, but the lady allowed me to use it, even though she was going to pay for it later. I appreciate the acquiescence. VERDICT: 4 stars for doing the one thing Original Pizza does well: make pizza. No frills, no gimmicks, just bread, cheese, pizza sauce, and pepperoni. I'll be back. read more

I came in Today because it was close to my house and got great reviews. I ordered a large sausage and onion pizza and it came out to roughly $15 and change. The pizza was AWESOME.
