Tried to order and was told they closed at 9pm. (Mind you it's 8:55pm) idc 5 mins of service wouldn't kill anyone. When online it says they'd be open until 10:45pm. So disappointing considering I've been craving this food. I guess I know where I won't be going hours before close god forbid I look at their hours and attempt to order accordingly.

Gyro Sandwich looks small but packed with meat.

Been here a few times and I usually get the gyro platter which is solid and very filling. I always wanted to get the gyro sandwich so I got the gyro sandwich yesterday and it was solid as well. It looks small but it is packed with gyro meat. For the price which was about $9.58 including tax, I would opt to get the platter. I will be coming back but only for the platter. * white sauce they use is NOT tzatziki sauce, it's the halal style white sauce.

Side order of fries. We had to add salt. But no biggie

This place is clean, quick, and pretty decent. We tried the beef shawerma sandwich, the chicken shawerma sandwich, and the fries. Their sandwiches were packed with meat, which was tender and flavorful. The side order of fries was huge. Us two people couldn't finish them all. They cooked the food while we waited (about 15-20 minutes). We definitely recommend this cute little place in Hawthorne. They have a variety of food, drinks, etc. We will be regulars.

Ordered over the phone. Chicken was under cooked (pink) I usually order from this place but disappointing. Not just one piece but several.

Easily the best platters around! I bring my friends here and they all get hooked. The food never disappoints and will have you coming back for more. The owner is so nice and always remembers my order which is always a plus. And to top it off, the white sauce is AMAZING.

Really good platters spot in the area. I like that the platters weren't covered in grease from grill. They do care about the quality of each platter as it is made. The price point is a bit higher than other spots nearby. It was quiet when we walked into the building. Very clean and respectable service. They did admit another spot had good platters which must have been tough to say but I admired their humbleness. I didn't get to try their shakes or dessert but it looked good. Definitely will return again if I am in the area.

Ordered the mixed platter and it was disappointing. The meats tasted off and the kofta was salty.

I'd been dying to finally try their renowned Palestinian food. I came on a Friday night, and the restaurant was packed with families and large parties. They even offer valet parking--which tells you something about how popular this place is. And forget paying extra for bread. They start you off with a whole basket of 4-5 pieces of soft, house-made pita, along with pickled vegetables. The menu has both small plates (hot and cold mezze) and entrees, but we really wanted to sample as much as possible, so we went with the small plates. We ordered the fried cauliflower, fried cheese, lamb and beef sausage, and falafel. Everything was truly incredible, and the portions were very generous. The cauliflower was a little oily, but that's to be expected with fried cauliflower. It still had an amazing crunch, and they brought us complimentary toum and hummus for dipping, which was such a nice touch. The fried cheese was incredibly fresh and crispy with a light saltiness that made it hard to stop eating. But the falafel was the star for me--and probably the best I've ever had. Falafel usually isn't something I order first; I'm pretty take-it-or-leave-it about it. But these completely changed my mind. They're longer and more oblong than the usual round falafel, and the texture and flavor were fantastic. The lamb sausage was also really good. The only item that felt just okay compared with everything else was the beef sausage. On the drinks front, they don't have fountain drinks--only Boylan sodas. Sadly, no Diet Coke, but that was a very minor point. The service was amazing all night, and between the generous portions and all the different plates, we had plenty of leftovers to take home. They also have a smaller takeout location very close by if you can't get a reservation at the main restaurant. Overall: Al Basha absolutely lived up to the hype. Incredible Palestinian food, generous portions, warm service, and some seriously memorable falafel. Definitely worth the trip to Paterson.

The smiling pretty face young lady Riham said we are welcome to come in and she would feed us. We were 7 adults. Every one picked their choice and all the food turned delicious. The appetizers were superb. The falafel, the kabab, the chicken, the Ouzi were done to perfection. Riham was courteous and kept the place open for us way beyond their closure time. They were very soft and good but could be better in terms of flavor. The chicken tikka was too salty. The bread is delicious and fresh. The fries were delicious and comes with a interesting turmeric/mustard type sauce. The pickled vegetables are an acquired taste; very salty. The quzi is lamb shank with rice and comes with either bean or okra soup. I liked the okra soup better since it had some acidity from the tomatoes. The lamb shank was very tender but I wish it came with some sauce or lemon. The rice is a bit sweet due to the rasins. The prices are a bit high but there are not many Iraqi restaurants in the region.
