The community is homey and the space from inside the taproom to outside on the patio embodies that vibe. I got a flight on their trout flight board and sat outside. Red Sky Honey Cranberry: A Honey Ale brewed with Cranberry and Honey Malt. Medium-low sweetness with a low tartness that comes from the bitter cranberry. The honey provides a pleasant balance to it that ensures the cranberry doesn't take over the ale.  Local Yokel Session IPA: A Session IPA inspired by the West Coast IPA style. Using local Civil Sass grown in Southeast Minnesota right up the roat in Chatfield hops provides a pleasant bitterness with a low grapefruit zest flavor.  Egromaniac Rye IPA: A Rye IPA that doesn't shy away from the bold spicy notes of the rye malt. The IPA is packed with flavor with a full body, high hop bitterness, and high rye spiciness. Blueberry Seasonal: A very enjoyable blueberry seasonal that isn't online, but when the beertender told me about it I jumped right on it. It was almost like a blueberry breakfast bread - malty, blueberry fruity, and downright drinkable. My favorite of the four. ___________________

They have a nice selection of interesting beers and sours. We enjoyed them all! Our 2 favorites were the salty dawg and Tingles (amazing). We ended up taking home a couple of 4 packs. Sadly they are gone already! The guys working this day were very friendly and helpful with selections and quick to serve! If you have not tried Pulpit Rock beers give them a try, it is very high quality and delicious!!!

The brewery itself is really well-built with a cozy, welcoming vibe. There's plenty of seating inside, plus a great outdoor area that I can imagine would be perfect on a warm day. They offer a great variety of beers to suit most palates. We tried a flight that included: * Lanesbrew American Lager - Crisp and super refreshing, one of our favorites. * Willow Citrus Wheat Ale - Light and citrusy, great for an easy sip. * Gnarly Old Ale - Rich, flavorful, and full of character--definitely a standout. * Butterbeer Weisse - A fun, slightly sweet way to wrap things up. It made a great final note to the tasting. On top of the drinks, they also offer pizza and a few snacks onsite, which is a nice bonus if you're feeling a little hungry while you sample. Overall, Sylvan Brewery is a solid stop if you're in or around Lanesboro. Great beer, good vibes, and I'm sure the view gets even better as the season turns. Would definitely return!

Marcus was my friendly beertender who helped guide me building my flight. He said Firewood was a smoky beer, not really smoky. I said i wasnt a fan of such beers, but if its subtle enough... so it was added to the four pour flight of Buckthorn, Hazy Hills & Amber Buck. Surprise!! It was the victor of the four pours!! I really like the tap room; spacious and comfortable. I appreciate the open garage door to the patio. All three behind the bar were friendly and so cute in the German garb for Oktoberfest. I already had the brewery to try but relatives that live somewhat locally to the town added more justified hype and momentum to give this brewery a try. Without a doubt we will be returning! Might first beer so far with Pivo is their excellent their American Light Lager known as Rice ville Light Lager. As the name suggests this is a rice lager which I do really enjoy getting. This beer is crisp, slightly sweet, malty and a clean finish. That is a highly excellent beer and I can't wait to try more of their beer options. Excellent, excellent starting beer with this brewery!
