As a southerner, I didn't have super high hopes for a good biscuit and sausage gravy. I was highlyyyyyy surprised to LOVE theirs. The biscuit was fluffy and crispy on the bottom. The potatoes were so tender and the peppers and onions complimented it well. The eggs were cooked exactly how I asked too. Chris was my waiter & I loved the attention to detail he gave me from when I stepped in up until I left. The menu was very diverse and thorough. I had many options I could have picked from! Big family style roomy restaurant with tables and booths. Busy Sunday morning and we waited 30 minutes for seating. Food was delicious. Awesome fluffy buttery biscuits and gravy, tasty sausage patty, and hash browns were cooked to perfection. Over medium eggs were a little more runny than I prefer. Tasty Omlette. Good coffee. Friendly staff. Quick coffee refills. Now for the bad news; their FOOD SERVICE WAS SLOOOOW! We waited 50 minutes after we ordered for our food. Food: 5/5: Pancakes: These pancakes can stand against the best places in LA. They were fluffy, flavorful (including a little saltiness that's sometimes missing from pancakes) and vanilla-y. The vanilla flavor was so good! Rum French toast was my son's favorite and hubby got the Jeff's gooey mess full of mushrooms and potatoes. All of these dishes were a 5/5. 5/5: Service: our server was the best. Friendly and fast. If I had to have one area of critique was that pork was the only breakfast meat option, but I'm aware pork is just a staple in this region. Solid food, quick and attentive service. Had the avacado and bacon benedict it was good overall. Fresh ingredients and good presentation and portion size. But for almost 20 bucks I would expect a high grade of something. Local bacon or eggs or something that kind of tipped it over the edge to justify the prices. 17 bucks for pancakes and eggs? Looking for a place for breakfast while in town and this was one of the first that showed up on our search. It didn't disappoint. The location is on "mainstreet" Spearfish in the historical area. Plenty of on-street parking. Service was friendly and fast. The place seemed to fill up quickly, so when you're done, be respectful to the line of people waiting. There are plenty of other places within walking distance where you can go hang out and converse for hours. We tried the veggie omelet and the cream pancakes. OMG, so much food. I couldn't fi ish the omelet, although I probably got 3/4 through. Those cream pancakes though?! They were so good. The subtle sweetness from the cream was delicious. I don't love maple syrup so these were good plain or with a little fruit. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area. read more

The Original NEVER MISSES!! Fast and friendly service. Came here with a friend who has a gluten allergy, and the chef hand-delivered our food so we knew it was safe. Laurie has taken care of us each time we've come here and she is THE BEST. Amazing energy, super fast and personable. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it didn't survive long enough to take a picture of it My sister got the eggs Benedict and this is one of the only places I know of that does it correctly!! Overall, not a single complaint. We will always be back when we're in town for breakfast. Also, side note, this diner is quiet! We dropped in on a busy Sunday morning after checking out of the local KOA, hoping for for a casual, simple, sit-down breakfast of eggs and pancakes before getting on the road. We were not disappointed. Pretty busy and they seemed short-handed (the times we live in now) but service was surprisingly quick considering the number of patrons vs the number of servers.
