Came here after a reptile show since there were folks handing out a 10% off coupon. I was not really wanting pizza but, I am glad I came in. We had excellent service from the person at the front counter plus there was great music playing at a volume I can both hear the music and my partner talk to me. The place was clean and smelled that way plus with the aromatic of pizza. I live super far from this place which is my only complaint I highly recommend this place for wood fired pizza. Its been 2 years since I last reviewed them, so I thought i should give an updated review. The prices have significantly increased since 2021. Before, it costed $12 for a pizza. Now it costs about $13 for a pizza if bundled with another. The pizza remains only one size and the slices are pretty small. The flavor has gotten better though each visit. My new favorite recently has been the BamBam. Sweet BBQ sauce with gooey cheese and a generous amount of condiments atop. Overall, we will continue to visit Fat Zach's. Their pizzas are still good for one pizza a person. You can definitely finish a box for lunch and dinner or for dinner and leftovers the next day. read more

Super friendly employees and came out really fast! The honey siracha wings were delicious. Also had the First Responder pizza, which was very good as well as the Caesar salad! Their physical location has great pizza but their food truck is always undercooked and doughy, like super doughy! Bite into your pizza before leaving the food truck because if you email/call them with your issues (even including pics), they will never reply even after numerous attempts. So you will be out the insane amount of money they charge you for their pizzas. read more

I'm had heard from many locals that this was a great place to get pizza. So we tried it on last Friday night. When we got there the wait just to order was excruciatingly long. All the while we kept hearing the team making the pizza "If we had another person we could do something about this long wait!" Not something that any customer wants to hear and based on what I observed, YUP another person would have helped. The young lady taking orders was not only doing that but also boxing food, reminding the others what was needed (being the expo person) etc... So 20min after entering the store we get to order. There was no "Sorry for the wait" just "Do you know what you want". We ordered two pizzas to go and modified each as one was 86 the pepperoni add chicken, the other was 86 the ranch sauce and sub red sauce. We got back to the hotel and Guess what? Neither was correct! Imagine that! All the while we were waiting to order the other young girl was constantly making errors on the pizza orders. The guy baking the pizza, wings, and other oven cooked items was busting his hump only to learn after cooking the order it was wrong. This can't be profitable for a restaurant if the one making the pizza is making it wrong. We could not eat the pizzas as we don't like ranch and do not eat pepperoni. So a total waste of time and money. Why didn't we call back and complain you ask? Well if someone would answer the phone I would have. Better yet maybe not answer and hang-up or put on hold only to hang-up soon afterwards. Will we be back? The jury is still out on that one. read more

We moved to the area about a year ago and have been frequenting this location since then. We started out really loving it but recently the quality has been poor. A couple of times, the dough was not stretched enough so the pizzas were abnormally small, sometimes the dough is not proofed enough. The pizzas have at times been poorly topped. This time, the dough seemed old because it was chalky white in color. The wood taste from the cooking process was extremely prominent, like the ovens need to be cleaned or something. 1000% without a doubt hands down!!! My wife and I were out and about, taking in some much needed sun, and delivering flowers at our friends door steps to cheer them up. This whole Covid-19 has literally got the world flipped upside down and tossed around (pizza on the mind ). We were close to the Puyallup stand and thought we would give it a buzz to see if they were still making pizza curbside, only to find out that their new Pizza restaurant in Sumner was open, but drive thru only. No biggie... we just absolutely love this place so much and decided to make an order for pickup while on our way home further north. Well, as we are taking the off ramp from South Hill area, we feel a rumblies in our tumblies and it wasn't our stomachs. Yup, you guessed it. We had our first flat in the wife's new ride. So, as we pulled off and I get the stuff out for the spare tire swap, my wife calls Zach's and explains we just made an order, and we still want it, but we are fixing a flat, and then we will be by to grab the pizzas. "No worries, we'll keep it in the warmer for you" the voice on the other end said. So once we made the swap, got back on the freeway, pulled off and found the easy to find restaurant, we pulled through the Drive Thru. When the lovely gal opened her window, I explained our situation and that we were the ones who called earlier. I had my wallet out and card ready to go, feeling appreciative that they're open to begin with (BE SURE TO SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES, FOLKS) during this global pandemic... and that's when our minds were blown!! The Lady says, "Since you had to deal with a flat, we are so sorry for that so have these pizzas on us." I COULDN'T believe it!!! Even after I refused and was willing to pay for it, she insisted it was on the house. HOW FREAKING AWESOME ARE THEY FOR THAT??!? Not only is their wood fired pizza amazing to begin with, but their generosity, hospitality, and service was and IS impeccable!! Forever a fan and I've already spread the word like wildfire!! I feel like I should stand outside their parking lot with a sign that says, "EAT HERE NOW!!!" Thank you so much!! It was completely unexpected and appreciated!! CASHEW ON THE FLIPSIDE!! I freaking love this place and I'm obsessed with their pizza. The cashew one is so damn good and so is the dill pickle one! When someone first told me about pickle pizza I was not inclined to give it a try. I put aside that feeling to give it a try and it's definitely one of my favorites! Their drive thru is for call ahead orders and I highly recommend this option if you're in a hurry! Not bad pizza but the size of it is a bit small. But the price does reflect the size so I suppose there isn't much to complain about. It makes for a nice, lighter pizza outing with about three pieces a piece. We had a good pizza with lots of veggies and pepperoni which was very good. We also ordered garlic knots that really stole the show. We definitely liked those the best. The delivery of the order was a bit jumbled as the pizza arrived first and the garlic knot appetizer arrived a bit later. We order the over priced $12 "large" salad. The salad was pre-made and very small. Not to mention not very fresh. Then comes the seats. All of the seats and stools in the place are made of hard bare metal. No cushions of any sort. We could not sit in them very long. Staying long and enjoying your meal is not a thing at this place. We were almost done with our meal and one of the staff members told us they were going to start closing the dinning area and if we need to go boxes. This was 45 minutes before the actual closing time. We continued eating to finish up our meal. The staff member started to put all of the chairs on the tables and mopped around us. I called and was greeted by a friendly voice eager to take my order and provided me the time for pick up. Arrived on time, and my order was ready to go and correct (including the side of sauces, i requested). The pizza could have been a bit warmer, but nonetheless, it was delicious. After reading some reviews and looking at the pics of these amazing pizzas, I had to give it a try. Did I go overboard on sampling 5 pizzas? I think not. I needed to try as many as possible to really synthesize a verdict. Pizza is a sacred thing. There are schools of thought around how it's the toppings that make/break a pizza. The sauce that makes/breaks pizza. The crust that makes/breaks pizza. I won't go into what I think. It's not about me. It's about you. The reader. I will say this. It's delish!!! I was so surprised by the pickle pizza. WOW. So good. A closing thought on the schools of thought about what makes/breaks a pizza.....this place has gluten free (cauli crust) and different types of sauces from pesto to olive oil and garlic. My reviews are usually centered around the customer experience. I value that experience. A lot. Great food is a definite plus. But the experience is where it's at. I saw a few previous reviews on positive customer experience and I love it. That said. Before I ordered here, I messaged the business via Yelp to ask about dairy allergy and keto options. I even voluntarily told the reader of my message that I'm crazy Keto allllll the way. I get a response. Same day. Engaging response from the owner telling me about the dairy free options and also stating that he is Keto. Furthermore, the owner goes into how he can eat the cauli crust and stay in his MACROs. Was it necessary to add that? No. Was it awesome. Yes! A business and an owner that goes above and beyond by adding to substance (food, dialogue, experience) instead of taking away is awesome in my book. The staff was all super friendly. Nice location. Tried for the first time on Friday. The pizza was good but small, especially for $18. No beer on tap and the selection sucks. The staff is great, the pizza (especially the NBD) is quality, and the boxes are fun. I recall one time we were given a wrong pizza and after coming back to fix the mixup, they threw in cannolis for free! They know how to do pizza and service right. Fat Zach's catered our wedding, and were incredible! The pizza alone was to die for. So much variety and creative combinations of toppings along with the classics. They kept pizzas coming out the entire time people were eating and still left us plenty to take home, as well as making sure that every single one of our vendors were fed. They also offered an incredible charcuterie spread that took up an entire table and an amazing set of desserts as well. They came out, fired up the ovens and got right to work, needing almost nothing day of to allow us to have our big day with no stress. Their staff was incredibly courteous, ensuring that my husband and I had our favorites pizzas set aside to take a full one home with us on top of all the leftovers. Headed to Fat Zach's for lunch this afternoon, it wasn't busy at all so the wait wasn't longer than 15 minutes for our food. We got their 2 pizza lunch combo and it was really good! We have visited this location twice lately, and have also become fans of the fat Zach's truck that visits our area sometimes. I really can't find anything to say but good things! The pizza is easily my local favorite. The ingredients are great, it's fresh, and simple. If you eat in the restaurant, keep in mind that the pizzas are super freshly wood-fired and you definitely don't want to just dig in. Let the cheese cool and firm up, and don't burn your mouth like me. Oops! The pizza is $13-which for such good quality is a super great deal. Be warned though-if you come hungry, the pizzas are 10 inches. We usually go for one pizza each and save our own leftovers. I have gotten a salad and a rice krispy as well-both were great! Can't rate any of the other sides *yet.* The staff have always been nice and welcoming, and are helpful on recommendations. They also keep the restaurant super clean. Can't wait to be back! Fat Zach's is 1000% better than MOD! My family always drives to Fat Zach's even though we have to pass 10 other pizza joints along the way! This is a great company, with great employees. It was surprisingly difficult to find a wood fire pizza cater that would go to Ashford, Wa. We are so glad that Fat Zach's was able to make the trip. They catered my wedding last summer and boy were they great! They were amazing to work with and were very responsive during planning. They were able to accommodate special menu requests, which made the menu feel all our own with our favorite prosciutto and arugula pizza. Our gluten free and vegan guests were also very pleased with their options. The food was beautiful and delicious.
