Love the staff, love the pizza. Pizza sauce is NOT tomato sauce out of a jar! I can tell

I recently ordered the scallop dish at Sorci's Italian Cafe & Enoteca and it was honestly one of the most unpleasant dishes I've ever been served at a restaurant. The thinly sliced cheese on top had an overpowering smell and taste that resembled bleach/ammonia mixed with a strong foot-like odor. I enjoy strong cheeses and am not someone who is picky about food, but this went far beyond "bold flavor." The taste was even worse than the smell and completely overwhelmed the scallops to the point that the dish was genuinely inedible for me. I could not finish it. I understand some cheeses are intentionally pungent, but pairing something that intense with delicate seafood was a terrible combination. Very disappointing experience overall. read more

I order chicken parmesan , the chicken breast was very small. Inside the restaurant was very hot. I don't recommend it.

My family has been coming to Sorci's for years and we love dining here, especially during the summer months when their patio seating is open. Happy hour here is also excellent. This trip, we went for cocktails and the bruschetta flight. Their summer Hugo Spritz special was super refreshing. The flight came with three accompaniments which we all enjoyed. We were also given an extra serving of bread to finish off all the sides. Their chicken pesto caesar salad is one of my favorites. The chicken breast is always cooked to perfection, and the pesto adds a great depth to a typical caesar. I will always come back for it! I came here a couple weeks ago. Our server was amazing. But that was literally the only amazing thing about this place. We had a larger group and I asked when we arrived if they could split the check and add 20% gratuity automatically for doing so. No they couldn't. Ok. Our bill for 10 people was almost $700. I was really hoping for something good. My husband had the steak Milan. I could have pulled the leather off my shoe and it would have been softer and probably would have had better flavor. Seriously the toughest piece of meat I've ever had. My son had a pizza my way. It was decent. But by the time he added all the $3 things he wanted it was about a $40 pizza. Flavor was there but not for $40. I had the seafood fettuccini. This was actually decent. But again quite over priced for what it was. read more

Started off slow then got up to speed. The apps took a minute to come out but they were good so not that big of a deal. They forgot to bring the bread basket though, forgot to look and see if they charged for it anyways. The spicy prawns were the star of the show. The Caesar salad was surprisingly good and had alot of dressing which is how I like it. I just wish they had black olives instead of kalamata to throw in the salad. Definitely a hit, will be back to try some other items soon. read more

Came here on a sunny day and sat outside. Our server was busy working the whole back patio, taking orders, running orders, and making drinks. He did a good job trying to balance it all. Ordered the chicken Alfredo but it was so bland. Tasted like cream and water lol the Tabasco and red pepper flakes saved it. My sister ordered the ravioli and enjoyed the marinara sauce. You don't expect much from a tiny restaurant on a side street, but I am impressed every time I come to this restaurant. You walk in and it feels Italian. The wait staff is nice and relatable and are quick to offer their favorites. I love that it's not an Olive Garden wrapped with a different name - this is a place uniquely its own. I can make pasta and tiramisu at my house, but somehow they make it extra special where I don't want to make it at my house, I want to come here again and again and again. Gelato next time. You gotta be careful when ordering appetizers... some are over the top spicy when they don't need to be. The sauce they put on the meatballs can be replaced with a different option. The spinach artichoke dip was good but too spicy as well. read more

What an experience! The staff was super attentive. The spacing between appetizers and entrees was spot on. The blood orange margarita was amazing! The artichoke dip, not your traditional dip that tastes the same where ever you go, it had so much flavor! The seafood fettuccini, stellar! And the crème brûlée for dessert, well worth the extra calories! Socri's is a little slice of Italy nested away in the small town of Sumner, WA. We stumbled upon this cute restaurant when we were in the area and it's been our go to date night spot ever since. The food here is phenomenal! So flavorful and lightly balanced. We even took the in-laws here when they came to visit (father in law is an Italian from NY) and they couldn't stop raving about their meal at Sorcis. Service is always wonderful too, even when they get really busy in the kitchen, our server always checks in on us and keeps us posted which we really appreciate. We will continue to be back at Sorcis and we're so grateful for this hidden gem in Sumner! read more

My wife had spaghetti and meatballs with spicy arrabbiata sauce and it was also amazing - just enough spice while still maintaining a great blend of flavors. At one time Scorci's was one of my husband and my favorite restaurants - always good food, charming atmosphere, and individually owned. We stopped going many years ago because the service was soooo slow. When I emailed the owner, their response was that they had limited kitchen space and it would be too expensive to upgrade. We never went back. Fast forward to today. My friend and I get together periodically for lunch and like to find new places on the south end. She'd never been to Scorci's so I thought we'd give it a try and see if they'd worked out their timing issues. Sadly, they have not. It took a while for a waiter to take our order despite the place having many empty tables. After waiting what felt like 10-15 minutes for a panini and mushroom Parmesan (still not full restaurant) I looked at my phone to check the time. It was another 25 minute wait from my first time check, which means we waited easily 35-40 minutes for our food. read more

I was really looking forward to this and left terribly disappointed. I ordered the special roasted beet salad. It was entirely unremarkable and it was the highlight of the evening. My pasta choice was Angel hair and on a Saturday, I was told they were out. At 4pm. Out. So I ordered spaghetti and it was undercooked. They were very stingy with the Arabiatta sauce as well. No matter because it wasn't very good. Our two top bill was $160. The waiter didn't offer us second drinks, water refills, or any dessert options or coffee. Absolutely ridiculous. This restaurant is rather "non-descript" on the outside. The parking is immediately east in a public parking lot. I was not too sure when we first walked in, but our daughter recommended it quite highly. We had reservations, which are recommended. When we walked in at 5:00 PM the restaurant was almost empty. That was remedied about 30 minutes later as it filled up quickly. People must have been watching the SEAHAWKS game. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. I had forgotten my glasses and went back to the car to get them. My wife was already seated when I walked back in. The dining area itself is small which would account for reservations being recommended. We did notice a large party area/dining room to the right of the main seating area. We had two employees helping us. The young woman who greeted us also brought us water and told us someone else would be taking our order. The man taking our order was also tending the bar. He was friendly, wearing a SEAHAWKS jersey. That endeared hi to my wife right away. He took our order, but our food was brought by the young woman who had seated us. I ordered the lasagna and thoroughly enjoyed it. The sauce was a nice spicy red sauce, just to my liking! My wife ordered the butternut squash ravioli. There was more food than she could eat. Me, I finished my lasagna. We also had an appetizer, the charcuterie board. That would have made a meal for one with a glass of wine. The young woman who took such good care of us is named Mackenzie. She is a jewel! She and the young man who took our order checked on us frequently. We took half of the charcuterie board home with us, as well as half of the ravioli, and a dessert. This is not the Olive Garden. The quality of the food speaks volumes. It is more expensive than the Olive Garden, but is most definitely worth it. It is our new favorite Italian restaurant. This place was amazing!!! Seriously the best food I've ever had at a restaurant! Must try the butternut squash ravioli! I added chicken to it and it was the best! Earthy and yet sweet...I was satisfied with the portion as well. The flourless chocolate tort is the best! The prices are not too bad and the atmosphere is great! It's darker and can be romantic or just for a friend date. The staff was very friendly and not stuck up. This place was busy but they didn't make you feel rushed at all. We had extraordinary meal to celebrate my son's birthday this week. Gnocchi, Salmon Piccata, and Pepperoni Pizza were our selections. We also enjoyed two appetizers, spinach artichoke dip and garlic shrimp. The flavors and presentations were well done. "Compliments to the Chef". The portions were quite generous and we each needed " doggy bags ". Service was good, though my sense was that they were short. Additionally, dishes from the appetizers and our plates were not bused throughout the rest of our meals. Our server seemed to manage so many tables with grace and courtesy. Ambiance was okay though the acoustics in the restaurant were difficult. Voices of fellow diners made it difficult to hear one another. The conversations were not loud, per se, but it is a rather small area and noise travels. I have also enjoyed lunch with friends there in the past. The acoustics, being the same, did made it less than optimal for conversation. I look forward to returning again! read more

Overpriced for what it is :/ This spot used to be so good! Sadly, my pasta needed salt (I wouldn't expect that with a rich, Italian meal - and I'm not usually a salt person) and the chicken they served with it almost seemed boiled..? Bland and oddly textured. My partner had better luck with his meal but either way, we didn't feel good about spending over $100 on a mediocre dinner. If we went back, we'd probably try a flatbread/pizza cause you know what to expect with that. It's not terrible food, just not worth the $, is my honest review. read more

Best food in the area, we have frequented this restaurant due to the extremely delicious food, friendly staff, and fair pricing. The patio is beautiful and welcoming in the warmer months and the interior is well decorated. We love supporting a local restaurant that actually tastes good. The food is definitely Italian-American (rather than authentic) in my Italian opinion, but again it is by far the best in this area. We love visiting for special occasions and happy hours. They make their own gelato. And it was delicious. Everything was. Some details: My husband is a cancer survivor who goes for regular follow up scans at Fred Hutch. All good so far, but scan days are stressful. I asked him what he'd like for dinner, and he said he really wished there was some good Italian comfort food around. We live in Tacoma, and we eat early, so not much fits the bill. I decided to see if anything looked right in the Puallup area, and I found the Sorci's reviews here. Sorci's was outstanding. Exactly what he wanted. We had the Italian Cheese Bread to start, and appreciated the garlic forward base. I had the Zucchini Parmesan, which was a perfect vegetable entre. My husband had the Cheese Manicotti with added spicy sausage, also just right for comfort. Then we decided to bring home canoli for later, and shared a scoop of chocolate gelato. Heaven. I knew immediately that it must have been housemade, and our waiter confirmed. The restaurant was comfortable, quiet enough for conversation. And the ambiance was warm. Service was prompt and friendly. It was exactly what we needed, and we will definitely return. read more

Family of 3 went for dinner on a weekend, it was busy but they were able to seat us with no wait, would recommend getting reservations though. We tried their Sicilian Pizza, bruschetta sampler, a Caesar salad, and a clams and pasta dish that might have been a special, plus kids pasta. Our server was also behind the bar and he was very busy, but attentive to us. The atmosphere is nice, TV at the bar, good conversational noise, lots of good smells from the food. Very causal and comforting place, like a locals spot. The food was good and we had plenty of leftovers with the pizza. We are looking forward to returning to try their other dishes and drinks and desserts. This would be a great spot to go for a date night or to bring family or friends. Went there for lunch on Saturday. Wonderful service. Fast & attentive. The portions were big enough we all had leftovers. 3 of us had individual pizzas: Tutta Carne, Papa D's Special & Chicken Alfredo. All were the size of a half 10"-12" pizza. Crispy with plenty of toppings but not overloaded. The sausage was link style cut at an angle and spicy but addictive. The other order was a Caesar salad in a giant bowl. Had a dining event last night with six people and it was our first time trying after hearing many good things. I guess I should have read a couple of Yelp reviews. My bad! I ordered the spinach salad and after putting the olive oil/balsamic dressing on it appeared to be all olive oil. So now since my spinach was sort of swimming in that, had to cut it quite a bit with the balsamic that we got with our bread. Two others split the ambrosia salad which I probably should have had for dinner because it was excellent! The butternut squash ravioli is not made in house and even though the waitperson said it was like having dessert for dinner, my friend said it was so sweet he had a hard time finishing it. Apparently there was no sugar in the butternut squash and the sauce was simply a brown butter sauce so we're still wondering about that. Another friend had the gnocchi with the crab and she said there were two pieces of something in there that weren't crab. She said they were chewy and insisted they were pieces of pork. Someone else had the vegetarian manicotti and it had so much cheese I think it took away the star of the show which were the vegetables. There was also a lot of shredded basil on top. A third of that would have been nice just to add the flavor. Angel hair pasta with the pesto was overcooked and clumping together a little bit. Two of us said the lasagna. I have to say, why in the hell would you put chopped green onions on top of lasagna? And what a pain to take them all off. I love green onions, just don't want them on my lasagna. Also the , what there was of it, had Jalapenos in it. I found the lasagna to be extremely dry and almost clawing. There didn't appear to be any sauce whatsoever in between any of the layers except someone on top of the lasagna and some on the side of the plate. They were out of two desserts so that left three of us not ordering any. Another comment not having anything to do with the food. I sat in my chair at the table and it felt a touch wobbly. I got up to take a picture and when I sat back down the leg actually loosened from the chair and a 3-inch nut in bolt came out. With it being a concrete floor, I'm glad I didn't fall as it could have been nasty. I brought the chair over to the register along with the bolt. I also brought it to two people's attention, but it remained and with the bathrooms right there, someone could have easily sat there while waiting. Not good. Sydney was very friendly and efficient and that was probably the highlight of this dining event. Unfortunately it won't bring any of us back. read more

Found this place on Yelp when my coworkers and I were looking for lunch. We ordered lasagna and an Italian grinder. It sounded like all our meals were delicious I loved my 3 meatball dish. The meatballs and the accompanying marinara sauce was delicious. Perfect portions. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the service is on-point.
