The haunted house was very interactive- lots of walking, crawling and getting blasted with blood. Dress accordingly. (We came in painter suits which helped to an extent but maybe a pancho of some sort would be a better choice! ) The show/ haunted house has a different theme each year , this year they did a Celtic festival , scavenger hunt and stories out of a few books which was a great concept, had you read the books. Nobody in my group had read any book except for Alice in wonderland so we were a bit confused through out the whole thing. Also I didn't find it to scary overall since I was just confused the whole time lol. If your a reader& had read these books, I bet this is 10/10 a great experience. At the start of the haunted house there is a paper and pencil to write down the things you're looking for in the scavenger hunt but the platform in that area wasn't smooth which made writing difficult. Also the pencil was a bit hard to see, not a big deal - just a note for the team. I will return next year as I've heard great things about the past shows. Had a great experience on Halloween with a group of friends! We arrived close to opening time and…read moreparked far down the street. The wait outside the entrance was maybe 45 minutes long, but there was barely any wait inside the corrals before each haunted house. For the ticket price you get 3 unique haunted house experiences that are so well story-lined and designed! Haunt 2 was especially incredible this year with moving features and even a secret bar inside (accessible only by special ticket). The Nocturne Sancturn bar was a fun and unique experience that really added to the immersion of the overall story of the haunt. They don't have a full service bar and you can't stay for too long, but it's a fun little surprise to be pulled into a secret room and given a pretty good/strong shot while your adrenaline is racing from the scares haha! As someone with a background in designing themed experiences, House of Torment always takes the cake for most immersive, well designed and well constructed haunted house. They don't just rely on jump scares and screams to make you feel scared. Next time you go through, try to pay attention to all the little Easter eggs and details!

You can purchase your tickets online or ahead of time or when you arrive. There are 4 houses that you may visit, each has its own theme. I found out when trying to enter a house for the second time that I had to get a "refundable ticket". This was not explained to me when I purchased the tickets -that they were for one entry only. The whole experience lasted less than an hour and there were no photos allowed to be taken inside. For the price, that's deeply unsatisfying. It felt totally rushed and lacking in real substance. Based upon this short and lackluster experience, I can't say that I would return next year unless they seriously improve how they communicate and make the experience much deeper.

Scream Hollow is an experience. If you've seen that movie Hell Fest, it's like that but scaled…read moredown, or like a spooky carnival that's scaled down. In addition to the haunted houses, there are food and drink areas, music, I think tarot reding or something, some sort of spook shop, there was live music too. The haunted houses were overall good, there were 5 and they ranged from kind if lame to pretty decent. The set design was legit and there were some new twists on things I've seen at other haunted houses that were cool. There definitely could've been more scare actors but they might've been lacking because of COVID? I'm not sure how it compares to other years but there were stretches of walking through the house where we were just looking at the decor. Again, the decor was good but walking through felt lacking. There were also large groups that we caught up to while going through which kind of ruined some parts of how scary it was. There were long kines so it made sense that all these people were being let in though, but it took away from the experience. I liked the dark haunted house, though it was a bit short, and wasn't a fan of the wagon one. The wagon one we had an unenthusiastic guide and the scares weren't bas scary since the actors were outside the wagon. There were also fabric drapes every so often that kept hitting me in the face with dirt as we drove through since I was in the front. I overall was not a fan of any of the hanging cloth but that house was the worst. Overall it's a great experience if you've never been, probably ok or better if you have been before. Definitely recommend checking it out at least once. There's also a bucees nearby so you can recoup in a happy place after all the scariness

The good: the 4 haunted houses and hayride are legit. The decor is really cool. I could have walked around looking at everything much longer. There's a DJ when you walk in playing some good tunes and the jump scare actors were pretty creepy! It's like a mini Halloweentown. Improvements: they have the potential to make this place even better. 1. They had closed one of the bars and were slammed at the one bar open, causing the bartender to rush everyone and be quite rude because they were under stress. If the line were shorter I would have gotten a second drink. 2. The food was just ok. Kind of expected from this place but they could easily purchase more quality ingredients or partner with a food truck. 3. They could use a few more jump scare actors. The ones in the asylum and alien haunted house were so fun. The clown one had so much potential, but they did not capitalize. Have creepy clowns walking around! A few tweaks and this place could be amazing and even more popular.

This year's edition of Texas Pumpkin Fest was a definite step up from last years. Tickets were $15…read moreper person and include a multitude of activities from a small haunted house to various photo ops and even some rides. Parking is free but this place can get packed quick so plan accordingly. There are many different food options throughout the grounds as well and good shade coverage, something they added more of this year. We felt like their shops offering was smaller this year but we're not completely sure on that. There are additional things you can do if you buy tokens for them such as: a petting zoo, train ride, and pumpkin smashing. We bought some tokens for pumpkin smashing and it was definitely worth it. The bigger the pumpkin, the more tokens it cost so we maxed it out and got some very large ones and let it rip. It was a lot of fun and we recommend this activity to anyone who goes. Lastly, we searched for and selected our perfect pumpkins for carving, which also were decently priced and healthy/good shaped. This is an extremely fun place to go on a cool fall morning with family or friends and is worth the drive out to Leander no matter where you are in Austin, highly recommended.

This was our first time going to this Pumpkin Fest. We had previously gone to the one in front of…read morethe Leander Humane Society. This one is much bigger with rides for the kiddos, plenty of photo opportunities, food trucks, live music, a small petting zoo, a train ride, and wait for it a beer garden. Our crew went on Halloween day and we were surprised at the lack of crowds. We were able to park close to the entrance and we never waited to go on any of the rides. The rides had seen better days but our granddaughter had a blast on the tea cup, train, and slide rides, and that's all that matters. We snacked at the Jamaican food truck and their jerk chicken & shrimp plates were very good. The beer garden provided us with a Sam Adams Octoberfest beer which was a perfect accompaniment on a beautiful fall afternoon. Upon leaving all the kiddos received a gratis small pumpkin. There were plenty of other larger pumpkins for sale. I can see how this would be an expensive day if you have a couple of kiddos. The entrance fee is $15 pp and the rides average $6.00 pp so it does add up. Take note for next year First Responders, Military and Veterans admitted free every Friday.
