    Fire Show

My husband and I went to Pioneer Farms Pumpkin Nights and it was awesome. My husband ordered our tickets online. He said you could reserve them at different times. We chose 8:30 as we wanted to make sure it was dark enough to see everything lit up. We drove in and followed our way through the line of cars. We were guided to our parking spot and then parked. There was plenty of parking at the time we went. We then walked to the entrance and proceeded to go through to the checkin area. They checked our tickets on my husband's phone and then we walked in. At first you see a small trail of carved pumpkins, venders selling things, places to buy snacks, and a haunted house. We took our own water bottles to stay hydrated as we walked around. We walked around and found some bathrooms in trailers with running water which was great. Next we continued to explore and found our way to the walking trail of carved pumpkins. This was just amazing. So many different designs and themes to walk through and see. It was a really cool experience. After walking through the entire trail we saw that there was a fire show so we caught one as it began. It was entertaining. Overall this a great family friendly place to visit. There was plenty of parking and it wasn't too crowded but we did go early in the season. It was a a beautiful display of pumpkins, lights, and music with a fire show and a haunted house mixed in.

Parking lot gets uber dusty and there were sus fingerprints all over our car when we were done for the night - you could hear car alarms going off from the farm next to the parking area. You'll for sure want to wash your car after going here! The carved pumpkin lighted trail is a really cool walk-through. Though not accessible - you can navigate with a walker and/or wagon - be prepared for some more sandy, rocky, and uphill bits to the walk though. I liked how the areas were themed and it wasn't too crowded when we went so we could get pictures without other people in them and enjoy all the views without feeling pushed through. There are enough food options to keep it fun but nothing too exciting. There is a market area with fun local vendors and they have nightly fire shows throughout the night. Worth the cost to do once for local entertainment and great for all ages.

My sister tells me we went here as kids to "learn about the olden days" and it was cool. I trust her on that because I was too young to remember. We went this week for Pumpkin Nights, and I was thoroughly impressed! It was like a Halloween themed Trail of Lights, but maybe better. It's $22 per person plus $10 for parking which is a little steep, but by the end I thought it was fine. Maybe just carpool. And get there early because the parking line was long, but moving. Super fun experience for the whole family!

I love this place in October! They put on the Pumpkin Nights festival and its by far the cutest! Make sure you get a ticket in advance and show up on time because they do close the gates at the time stated online. This was my third year going and it never gets old for me. They have fire dancers at the beginning along with shopping and food venues. Its quite the walk so wear comfy shoes and get ready for dirt. This is great for family time, date night, or just a fun enjoyable night. The pictures do the justice there.

I went with a big group of friends to see the Pumpkin Nights trail of lights for the first time and this is definitely going on my list of things to do every year! I was really impressed with the length of the trail and the complexity of the decorations, especially compared to Peppermint Parkway which I found to be disappointingly short last year. Parking is an extra $10 on top of the tickets but the white claws were 2 for $10 when I was expecting them to be more like $10 each so that was a nice surprise! It is very dusty, especially in the parking area, so be aware of that with regards to footwear and clothes. Definitely recommend this for the great photo ops and just a fun experience! Great for adults and kids.

Pumpkin Nights is wonderful--very organized, fun, and absolutely adorable. It's a great event that my family really enjoyed. That said, be careful with the Pioneer Farm area on the way out. They place pumpkins all over the exit path without any signs or pricing, which feels like a deliberate trap to push people into buying them. It came across as very misleading and left a sour note after such a great event. Pumpkin Nights itself is 100% worth it, but the Pioneer Farm pumpkin setup is something to watch out for.

Pumpkin nights was a blast and they went all out with the decorations. It was fun for everyone in my party from ages 18 to 65. I would say use caution if you have to have a wheelchair I did see someone struggling with that. The paths are quite rocky, but they do mention that when they advertise the tickets for pumpkin nights. We loved the fire dancers and the jack-o'-lantern tunnel and all the super fun surprises. It was a wonderful family friendly fun night would definitely go here again next year looking forward to it.

Wow! This place is magical. Worth every penny. You can tell a lot of planning, a lot of work, went into this place to make us safe, family friendly, and just amazing. Some serious crafty, creative people. I'm super impressed. Parking is guided and it's all dirt. So know your car is going to get dirty. Lots of venders with cotton candy, some nachos and other items, Jenna art, pumpkin carving, and so many opportunities for family photographs. The walk around the whole park is long, but you're strolling along slowly so it doesn't really feel long. For the most part the ground is pretty flat, but it's dirty, dusty, a few small rocks here and there. Fantastic place to go to get into the spirit of the fall and Halloween season.

This is one cool place to visit specially for Halloween! The whole farm was decorated all spooky. They had a bonfire and plenty of activities. We went as a small group with kids. It was one perfect evening. The buildings are well preserved and interactive. I highly recommend visiting this farm specially if you have kids

My review is based on their Pumpkin Nights event! Pumpkin Nights was so fun to attend! It's really great for photo ops for friends and family because they have so many themes and even people to take picture for you! Wear comfy shoes for walking and something that you don't mind getting dirty. The wind was pushing dust everywhere so avoid wearing white. I even saw a proposal which was crazy and so unexpected ! The ticket was affordable, and it was $10 to park. I recommend to carpool to save money. They had people assisting in the parking lot so it was really easy. There were food and art vendors. The Turkey leg was $25 which is so expensive but it was juicy for sure! Make sure to bring your kids. They will love it

We came in with low expectations as this was our first time attending a pumpkin light event here in Austin, but we had been to some extravagant ones in Denver. Pumpkin Nights exceeded our expectations! We first arrived while the sun was still up and we got some tacos and drinks while we settled in and waited for the sun to set. There was a good variety of drinks, but nothing fall themed, I would've loved if they had a spiked Apple cider or hot chocolate! Once we finished our dinner we walked around to some of the spooky shops and watched the fire dancers! Once we got into the Pumpkin Nights forest was when things really got interesting and enchanting! This is a nice walking event through multiple pumpkin light instillations, and everything is made out of pumpkins! From undersea, to gnome fairy forests, to a Chinese new year, and so much more, every stop was full of carved pumpkins! Our favorite was the gnome forest with the mushroom pumpkins and the little gnomes who lived in pumpkin houses. The path is a dirt road and it got super dusty, I was wishing I had a bandana or mask at some points! I should mention that we are adults and don't have kids, this was still a very fun date night! This event was so much fun and we will definitely be back next year!

First time going to a light trail! The pumpkin installations looked really cool, and they are separated by theme. They had a Latino theme, underwater theme, pirates, etc. There is a fire dancer show after walking through the trail. Lots of beautiful sights! There are portable restrooms and snacks to buy on site. Parking is $10 per vehicle so carpooling with friends is a good plan!

At first, I sat on the upper level. It was wonderful to be out in the fresh air. However, the sun was a little too much for me so I had to move down to the inside area. I was the only one down there which was fine, but it was really quite filthy. There was thick gray dust on the top rail of all the seats and the fabric on the seats themselves was all thick with black grease. The tour guide was really wonderful. Entertaining and knowledgeable with one exception that was actually kind of disturbing to me personally. When we got to South Congress he talked about the "I love you so much" wall. His story of a husband painting it for his wife could not have been more wrong. It was in fact done by an artist named Amy for her then girlfriend Liz an infamous Austin hotelier and restauranteur. It is an incredibly iconic part of Austin history and if it's told it should be not fiction. I hope for sure this can be corrected for future tours.

A few tips: - Don't forget your sunglasses and sunscreen if you plan to sit on the upper deck. -If you're tall, consider sitting on the left side of the upper deck to reduce the chance of getting hit in the head by low branches. -Bring cash in case you'd like to tip at the end (optional). -If you're hearing impaired, arrive early to increase your chances of getting a seat up front (on upper deck) closer to the guide. Despite being mic'd, there were times it was a bit challenging to hear. -If you get a single loop trip, you're better off staying on the bus the whole tour. If you get off at any of the stops, you won't be able to hop back on. Have an open mind and have fun!

The Quintessential Texas Hill Country Day Out!…read more If you're looking for the perfect blend of Texas hospitality, smoky BBQ, and scenic vineyard views, look no further than the Austin Detours Hill Country BBQ & Wine Shuttle. I recently took this tour in February, and it was the highlight of my weekend (as I'm a local). Whether you are a local hosting out-of-towners or looking for a professional team-building outing, Austin Detours provides a seamless, stress-free way to experience the best of Central Texas. 5/5 recommend! Our day started at the Austin Visitor Center where we met our driver, Luke, who was fantastic throughout the trip. We hopped into a comfortable Mercedes Sprinter van for a smooth 40-minute drive out to the hills. One of the best parts of these tours is the people you meet. Our group included travelers from Ontario and Brazil, and it was wonderful swapping stories about their first impressions of Texas while we cruised toward our first stop. We started strong at this legendary BBQ spot - The Salt Lick. After placing our orders for some of that famous fall-off-the-bone brisket, we took a quick walk over to Salt Lick Cellars to grab some wine. Pro tip: Salt Lick is BYO, so being able to grab a bottle right there to pair with the BBQ is a game changer. Next up was Driftwood Estate Winery which was pure relaxation. We grabbed a bottle, found a spot under a massive oak tree, and just took in the incredible Hill Country views. Our new international friends joined us after their tasting, and the conversation was just as good as the wine. Our final stop at Fall Creek Vineyards was originally meant for a formal tasting, but the interior was buzzing and a bit loud. Since the Texas weather was doing us a massive favor -- sunny and nearly 80°F in February! -- the group opted to buy a few bottles and head outside to the fire pit. It was the perfect way to wind down. The drive back to the Austin Visitor Center flew by. We were all chatting, sharing snacks, and enjoying a final beverage in the van. A few things to keep in mind: The $69 price is for the expert guide and transport. You'll want to budget about $35 for BBQ and $10-$25+ for wine tastings/bottles. The Vibe was incredibly flexible. Whether you want to do a formal tasting or just split a bottle by a firepit with new friends, the pace is up to you.
