A friend phoned me up to go food shopping at T n T. He took me out for lunch at Fatburger cuz he had a Groupon for the restaurant. Overall, it's ok... The hamburger meat was juicy the only thing is that the patty seemed a bit small. It's like the old Burger King commercial where the little old lady looks down at her hamburger and the bun is huge and the meat patty is small and she says that famous line..."Where's the beef?" That what I felt like saying! Lots of bun and veggies but light on the meat patty! Ok what do you guys think of this? I'm finished chomping on my burger (or more like I didn't want to eat all the bun that was left) I wiped my mouth with my napkin and I threw the napkin into the burger basket and I get ready to eat a bit more of my fries. The store manager who was walking around grabs my tray and dumps everything in the garbage and says thank you! Do not buy fries or a drink or a milkshake. They're overpriced and you'll feel ripped off. Onion rings are a nice treat, but that's the only side I'd recommend. Supply your own drink and you'll have a good time. I live nearby, so when I go here, I get a burger for takeout, bring it home, get my own drink, and the burgers are big so a burger by itself fills me up (and I have a big stomach). 3) Load up on free toppings. There's a list of available toppings on the counter in front of the register. Don't be afraid to be picky about customization and take advantage of the free offerings. Free toppings include stuff like jalapenos and onion rings and special sauce. 4) If you want premium toppings, like cheese, bacon, and guacamole, look over the Specialty Burgers and see if anything there suits your fancy. Going for a Specialty Burger is a little cheaper than making the same burger with the premium toppings add-ons. I love the California Burger, which comes with guacamole, bacon, and pepperjack cheese. The Old Style Bacon Cheddar Burger is also really good. Don't forget to load up on free toppings with these too! 5) Take advantage of the promotions. Killing some time at lunch waiting for an event at the nearby Vancouver Playhouse Theatre. This Fatburger is one block from there so tried it after hearing a few people liked the burgers from this chain. Easily found it, right next to Ricky's Grill and the skytrain station. Has some outdoor patio seating next to a terraced grass hill with cement seating you can also sit on (I think). Indoors there are around 4 booths and a few other tables. Came at noon on a Thursday afternoon and easily found seating. Menu is easy to read and lots of nice graphics. Only thing that was confusing was the burger types were easy to figure out but the extras like fries and drink seemed not that intuitive to order. Order at the counter, pay, they give you a number and drink cups where you fill it yourself and it is bottomless so you can drink a lot! Find a table and they bring the food out to you when ready. Youngest had the kids mini-hamburger meal. Good quantity for the price. Unfortunately had a hard time understanding the staff so the burger came plain, cheese, burger and bun, you had a specify the condiments and toppings when you order. I thought it would come with some basic toppings so didn't pay attention when it came and my daughter griped a bit after. Oh well.. Other daughter had the Original fatburger with everything but onions. I expected to specify toppings on this one so asked for everything but onions. She was happy with the burger. I had a dripping mess of a burger called the Hawaiian cheeseburger. Very tasty, loved the meat, but so much sauce it became a drippy tasty mess after a few bites. Maybe 1/2 the sauce and it would have been perfect. Also got the fries, good, but nothing to write home about. Would give the burgers 4* for quality and price. Came here yesterday for lunch since I was in the area. Wasn't craving burgers so I had chicken tenders. Yes, I had chicken at a burger joint. The combo came with fries, drink, and a choice of dip. The tenders were very crispy and definitely made to order as it was very hot, Which is also the downside. I probably waited nearly 10 minutes for the meal, which I feel is a little too long for a semi-fast food joint. The food was not worth the wait. It was probably 3 out of 5 at best. There's not a whole lot on the menu- a few types of burgers, and 3 chicken options, and the standard burger sides. But hey this is a burger joint- so what do you expect (don't bring your vegetarian friends here!). The burgers are good, but I usually get the spicy chicken sandwich. It's good chicken in buffalo sauce. Has a nice zing to it. But is it really an $8 sandwich? Couldn't I go to a casual restaurant and get a burger AND a side for that price? So price is definitely the thing I dislike the most here- but in all honesty it's not that different from Vera's (another great burger place that I disagree with the prices). The shakes are great. I usually try to convince a friend to share one with me. Yumm: rich and topped with whip cream. Currently they have an Oreo shake (limited time). Though it looks good- so far I've only had the Chocolate. In true diner style- I wish they served the shakes in those big metal cups. If you're a shake person, you should definitely stop in to try one. For those who would prefer beer- they have that. In the bottle, they have: Corona, Heineken, and Stella. Not sure what they have on tap. Dinner time (except game nights) it's easy to find a seat. Lunch time is never a sure bet- sometimes it is empty and sometimes it's full. I love the burgers at Red Robin (and their 1300 calories), but the burgers here were just lacking that little sumthin sumthin. A bit dry and crumbly but still oozing oil into the paper and a bit thin on all the topics left me filling up with my chocolate shake. We got a california burger and man food steak burger - while the steak burger was definitely larger than the cali, it didn't seem to be what I'd consider man food. The husband ate it up and just sat there, refilling his drink for hours on end while I finished my meal. I don't think he was full. Thank goodness for free drink refills! But if you're looking for a good shake, here's your place. The shakes here a delish, and totally good for the money. They've got tons of flavours to boot, though I stuck with the tried and true chocolate. In conclusion, it's not the best joint around - but it's definitely trying. I downloaded this app just to review this place to warn others. DO NOT GO HERE. I love Fatburger, always have and go to a location in Victoria often. This was my first time at this one, and I got very bad food poisoning as the bacon on my Canadian burger was barely cooked. When I threw it up back at the hotel a few hours later, I discovered it was basically RAW bacon. Not only did I have horrible food poisoning, but the staff were not super friendly and since we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time, and it was the only meal they were cooking, you'd think they'd remember to cook the bacon?? Every other Fatburger is great except this one, please just don't go here or if you do request they treat you better and inspect your food thoroughly before chowing down. read more

burger-wise, the one burger that comes with avocado is my favourite. i love anything that comes with avocado really. the burgers are pretty decent too, because they're not like... mcdonalds burgers, they are actually legit burgers that tastes like you barbecued them yourself at home. i'm really picky actually when it comes to burgers, but these make the cut. and 2 oz. $6 margaritas? you really can't beat that. the fries are pretty good, but the onion rings suck. beware of the seasoning salt, it's really good, but it just FLOODS out when you shake it out, so you have to do it carefully unless you want a sodium overdose. their patio is tiny, but actually gets quite a bit of sun, even in the late-afternoons right after work... really nice to go for an after-work drink (re: $6 margaritas!!) and a burger. read more
