This is my first time ever taking the time to write a negative review. There are multiple 1 star reviews essentially saying the same thing. The owner is very kind and friendly at first but once you give him the money and need say something like an inspection done, then he never picks up your calls or answers your texts. You have to go to your local town hall and have them contact him. We had a chimney liner installed late October of 2021. they charged us $4300 plus we had to pay $100 out of pocket for the permit that he was supposed to get before he started the job. They charged us $1,300+ more than the market value of the job and we thought we would get better service for paying more. We also talked him down from $5800 which he wanted initially. Another local company had quoted us $2,800 for the same job. They were in and out in half a day. They promised they would remove the debris but never did and left us with over 14 bags each weighing 50lbs+. There were sharp object from the old liner and I even cut my hand removing it myself. The liner they installed coming from the boiler to the chimney in our basement is bigger than the one we had before and it is poking out and I now have to duck under it to not burn my face. He also promised he was going to install an insulated liner around the pipe to prevent anyone from getting burned. Surprise, surprise....he never did. In conclusion, there are plenty other companies that do this work and I think it would be difficult to find a worse company. Do yourself a favor and get your work done elsewhere.

If I had a smaller job in mind that might not have mattered to me but when I do a large job I like a company with support staff. (For me, two talented guys in a van and a wife who answers the phone is just fine for most work). I can attest they do upsell but I had no work done I did not need. I had made an effort to research roofing and gutter materials beforehand. I strongly advise interviewing other roofing/ gutter companies first and asking questions about installation and what *exact* materials they will use. Dior will send out a salesperson who will review the work you want done and the materials they will use. I was offered a discounted price for making my decision the same day and would not have felt comfortable accepting that discount if I had not spoken to several other vendors first. I don't like to make that kind of decision under pressure. I had looked at Dior because my usual preferred vendor would not install any shingles to replace those that might break when they removed them to install flashing up the sides where different roofline levels met. Dior will work with siding shingles as well as other siding. My site supervisor came each day, reviewed the job when it was done and sent a crew back for a minor adjustment. My only complaint was with the container company that drove over my lawn and sidewalk, cracking the blue stone sidewalk and leaving a tire impression in the lawn.

Ron Carlson himself came to the house and the moment he walked up my driveway I had a gut feeling I found my roofing company. The search was over. Ron did not start with all the sales crap and throwing titles and certifications like GAF Master Elite blah blah blah at me that virtually means nothing. He was friendly, polite but no nonsense. He knows his stuff and could back up why I don't need gutter protectors, why I don't need 6 inch gutters, why I don't need useless "gold" warranties pushed by the roofing companies etc. Quotation was presented two days later, no extra 6.8% credit card charge levied, final bill was what I was quoted. Period. The Carlson team installed a new roof, gutters, soffits, leaders, two new attic fans, ridge vent skylights etc. Their team worked diligently, clean and started each day at 7:00 am and finished at 6 pm. Rich came by to make sure all was good and so did Doug (though I did not meet him). Top notch roofers. No gimmicks, no add ons, no big lawyer written contracts to sign and no hassles. Old school - agree to the job, do it and happily pay. A handshake means something with Carlson Brothers. They took 1/3 deposit upfront and did not take the other 2/3 until the job was done and they were gone. In fact, Denise called up two days later and asked if it's ok to go ahead and charge the balance on my credit card. I can't say enough good things about them all. As to price, extremely fair and they don't upsell you on anything. Ok. Enough said. I am pleased to select them out of 22 roofers I got estimates from and yes you need to do your due diligence because you'll find a lot of people tell you to do things you don't need to do. Everyone was professional and knew exactly what to do. His staff unfortunately follows his lead, even begrudgingly, characterizing this business as having no integrity whatsoever. The most immoral, unethical behavior of the events, is the following. We were elevating the ceiling height in our enclosed front porch. Above the dropped ceiling was space similar to an attic, and the intent was to eradicate the unused attic-like space and raise the ceiling for aesthetic purposes. During the estimate, the project manager moved a ceiling tile, examined and measured, and said the current existing support was more than sufficient for the project, and proper for code purposes. Fast forward several months to the actual construction, the ceiling was demo'd, and then Mike calls and says that he needs to rebuild the rafters. I told him they were thoroughly examined already. He then raised his voice, belligerent and aggressive, and like a thief in the night says that I have two choices - I can either choose to stop construction and cause a significant & timely delay while we await inspections, or I can pay $3000 for one day's work of exchanging the rafters. So, I watched them remove perfectly fine construction, just so they could rob me. His project manager knew it, his office assistant knew it, his crew knew it. he knew it, and we knew it. And it was unscrupulous, despicable, and an entirely sleazy way of squeezing money from good people. I hate to be stereotypical, and hindsight is 20/20 but it added up in the end when I remembered Mike showed up in a $100k car and $200 jeans to give a hardworking family an estimate on modifying their home, one that he ultimately inevitably disregarded for the sake of his own benefit and meager financial gain. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere, read and trust the accounts from other concerned reviewers of this abhorrent, dishonest individual.
