And that was exactly the same experience for us working with John and his team to redo our driveway and part of our sidewalk. John was extremely responsive, got the necessary permits from our town, and made the experience super easy for us. It felt like they were in and out; it was probably the smoothest experience we've had when dealing with home repairs/work. Incredible experience. John did work for us at the beginning of 2025 when we moved into our home in Bloomfield for our front side facia board and gutter that was falling off. He gave us a good price and was very thorough explaining the parts and the process to both myself and my wife. On the day of the work, John personally came and supervised/worked with his subcontractors, something I don't see very often nowadays with larger companies. Came out on a Thursday, started the job 4 days later. If it wasn't for the weekend and weather, they would have started even earlier! If ZERO star was option.. CANNIZZO CONTRUCTION- Dishonest Company and WORST customer service!!!! Everyone knows the joy of buying their first home and with that joy comes the decorating and home improvements. Well, I'm sad to say that we have had a horrible experience that has now led us to the lawyer. My husband and I were so excited to start our backyard project that included new cement and pavers around our inground pool and backyard. We met with Dan the owner's son of Cannizzo Construction. They came to our home to price everything out, gave us a price and we gave them a deposit. All new outdoor projects are exciting because you can't wait for the finished product. However, during the first few days of work the workers put a tear in our pool lining while breaking up the cement around the pool and supervisor/owner lies that he didn't notice till last minute. After contacting Dan, the son and explaining to him what had happened they refused to take responsibility for the damage. They said we were lying, and their men did not do it because the lining was installed incorrectly!! We had them stop working on the project and contacted a lawyer. They asked if we could pay half of the damage. Why should we?? Meanwhile, the father (owner of the company) took it upon himself to come to our home and pick up all the pavers and supplies without even contacting us. There was no decency of a notification. We chased him off our property for trespassing. They will extort money! In addition, they want more money because the cement was "too thick" and need more time to break it. Now we are out money, first summer waster, lawyer expenses and a broken up backyard!!! I KNOW this company is horrible and would never recommend them to anyone. They are rude, disrespectful business owners who are money hungry people. I want every eligible future consumer to know that CANNIZZO CONSTRUCTION LLC is a dishonest and horrible company that does not care about customer service or fairness. Sadly they will not honor their warranty! We hired them last summer and initially thought they did fine work. Fast forward 6 months later and we've had two leaks. The first they fixed after some hassle. They second larger leak they have refused to do so and became hostile when pressed to honor their warranty. They responded quickly when our hot water got shut off due to needing to replace our chimney liner. They came out and did the job in a matter of a few hours at a reasonable price, and I even had it tested by pse&g and all is reading well, no more back draft of carbon monoxide. This time they cemented the side of my home to avoid water from accumulating and getting in the basement. I have never worked with such professional and honest construction company in my life.
