I have a flat roof with a chronic leak that others have been unable to repair. When I called, Jose answered the phone and made an appointment to come out the next day. He called before coming and followed through. He and his worker accomplished a variety of "tests", including running a hose, removing pavers and loosening siding to feel for wetness. Ultimately, they could not determine the source of the leak; they also discovered that PVC roofing had been used which is heat-sealed--something they don't work with. They recommended cutting into the ceiling to see whether the source of the leak could be discovered the next time it rains and were clear that they would not be responsible for replacing the wallboard. Acknowledging that they only take jobs where they can guarantee a repair, I was told in a straightforward fashion that they could not help me. When I attempted to give them some payment, he emphasized that the estimate was free and refused the money. What a good business practice! By the way, I had looked them up on the Better Business Bureau website where they are taken to task for claiming 18-20 years of experience on the Three Brothers Roofing website. Jose explained that the years of experience are cumulative and include the time his father was the owner. He said that the BBB date only reflects when he took over the company and obtained the license in his name, whereas his website reflects his father's and his combined experience years. I have a big old house with complicated roof and gutter systems and had several problems that had to be addressed. I looked on line and read some positive reviews for Three Brothers Roofing then decided to call them. This was one of the best phone calls I've made. I spoke to Jose, who was very patient, while I tried to explain my gutter and roofing problems. He said he was coming to look at said problems then would explain what had to be done. He came in the time frame he said and I showed him the issues. He proceeded to go up to evaluate everything, then came down with pictures, showed them to me with a detailed description of how he would do the repairs. After he spoke it all made sense. I had decided at that point to use Three Brothers Roofing to do the job but Jose said he was going to send a proposal with repairs and cost and I okayed it. Jose and crew showed up the day and time he had designated. They worked tirelessly until all my issues were resolved and they were complicated, all I can say is they know their business. It was great to hear water go where it's supposed to and not hear it where it's not supposed to be. I've had them back for a couple of unrelated issues and have been satisfied every time. I have used Three Brothers roofing for numerous jobs and they have been very responsive each time. They do stand by their work & warrantee. To give an example: A year & a half after they had done work for me - I had one issue with a skylight that they had resealed - which I believed to be leaking. They came out within the week to investigate it. Ultimately the cause for the leak was unrelated to the work they had performed but they still patched some questionable areas at no charge. The water I saw was related to excess condensation on the skylight. Overall my experience with Three Brothers is positive. They've also turned down jobs they didn't feel capable of such as repairing the cornice on my 3rd floor. Any contractor who's willing to turn down a job for good reason has my trust. The language barrier can be challenging at times which is my one negative but that has nothing to do with the integrity of their work. I would use them again & recommend that others do. Six years ago, during a torrential downpour, I awoke to a steady stream of water running down my wall. I called KOVAK ROOFING (they put on a new roof just 5 years ago. Their service said no one was available-- sorry. I placed towels down and went online in desperation to find a 24 hour roofer. I called several to no avail. It was 2AM, mind you, when I called Three Brothers Roofing. They ANSWERED !!! They came in under 90 minutes !!! They located and stopped the leak. I had them come back to make a permanent fix , to the chimney and the roof area around it. My roof was only 5 years old and done by KOVAK ROOFING-- DONT EVER use those guys as they failed to answer an emergency call and never stood behind their work!!! Last week I had another leak in a different area and again Three Brothers Roofing arrived in about an hour. It was a popped nail and they quickly repaired it. Most importantly, I proposed they give an estimate to replace an entire section and they said the roof is still in good shape and advised I hold off on spending several thousand dollars. I can't believe I'm even giving one star. They came to my house told me no prob they do it for $6400 then when I say ok let's do it I wake up the next morning for a contract for $9300. When I called they said oh the first price was a mistake but they didn't tell me it was a mistake when I said ok let's do the job. They just simply gave me a bill for way way more than quoted. Then when I said what the hell is this he dropped it to 8k within a second!!!!!! That right there should tell you he damn well knew he was ripping me off. He also told me my roof was 29 sheets which is an industry term but when I had others measure they all came up with 19 or 20 sheets tops!!!!!! Then he cry's to me about the cost of insurance that he has to pay if does my roof or not beings that's a fixed cost of his yearly! If you want proof email me and I'll send you both contracts that say the exact same services on them one being for $6400 and one being for $9300! When talking to other roofers they all concluded this greedy crook was pocketing after labor and materials and whatever permits he needed that he himself was taking home around 5k for some poor Mexicans hard work! These brothers are a God send. I probably interviewed and got estimates from 5 different companies about my chimney. All of them didnt seem to be honest in their opinions. The other chimney guys try to scare you with the carbon monoxide factor when there probably isn't one to begin with. I got various opinions from companies that I should be putting in a new stainless steel liner and quotes for $3k and up for things I probably didnt need! When Jamie came to visit us he was on time for the estimate and immediately was honest on what we needed done. You just get that feeling. He knows what he is doing and their quote was the lowest out there. In the end, all I needed was a re-pointing and some maintenance of my roof. They came as expected on the day of the job and were very thorough in their workmanship and professionalism. They really are prepared and do not rush the job. They even came to the house personally for us to sign the contract prior to the job. I will use them for my yearly roof maintenance and will not hesitate to call them if I have any trouble. I waited a few storms before writing this review. I am happy and relieved that the roof repair that Jose and his Three Brothers Roofing team completed is perfectly fine. I should've had no doubt as Jose guaranteed his work. I received multiple estimates and conducted extensive research - Yelp, BBB, Angi List, Google Review. In the end I chose Three Brothers Roofing due to the extensive explanation Jose gave me. Most companies that came by explained the possible issues but Three Brothers Roofing offered a bit more. The other companies stated they would work on a 4x8 area. Jose stated to be safe, he would do 7x9, doubling the area. I am glad Jose did that because he found other possible problem areas. Jose took pictures before, during and after the job to make sure he showed us his honest work. He made sure and the binding contract stated that Three Brothers Roofing guarantees their work. These roofers are amazing. They just left my house and fixed a giant leak over my kitchen and living room and it's such a nice clean job. They take digital pictures on their tablet and show you exactly what they're going to do. The price was exactly what the estimate was told to me. While they were here I also asked them about a problem that had nothing to do with the leak where I saw a little bit of a gap on the other side of my house where my gutter met my house and the guy said yes that should not be there .. .we can fix it and for $60. They put a bunch of nails in and a piece of metal to seal it. The roof looks beautiful and when they're all done they show you digital pictures of what your roof looks like. The owner is a really nice guy. It was a pleasure dealing with them because they cleaned up perfectly. They got here at 9 in the morning and we're out of here by 2. Nice clean work and a bunch of workers were here. They even called me in the morning and told me exactly what time they would be here. Very considerate people. I have used Three Brothers Roofing Contractors multiple times within the past few years for issues with my roof. Jose is extremely professional, very honest, fair with prices, does a great job, and works in a timely fashion. For example, I just called him this past Saturday because I had some shingles hanging from my roof. He got back to me within 30 minutes with a price and a time that he would come fix the problem. It is Tuesday afternoon and the problem is already fixed (it would have been fixed yesterday but it rained) thanks to him and his team. Previous issues I have hired Three Brothers Roofing for was to fix and repair my leaking skylight, repair my gutters, and repair siding that fell off of my house. Each and every time I have used Three Brothers Roofing I have been extremely satisfied. Any other issues I may have with my roof or siding in the future they will be the first and only roofing contractors I call. I couldn't recommend them or their work any more. I've used his company a couple times in the past few years. The first time Jose and his crew replaced some shingles that flew off the back of the roof after a storm. They ended up replacing more shingles than originally quoted but did not charge any extra. They also cleaned up their work well. This time water was leaking into the house after Tropical Storm Fay. Jose came out to inspect the roof the same day I contacted the company. He explained where the water may be coming from, including pictures he took from the roof and gave a reasonable estimate. His crew showed up and again they went above and beyond. If they notice loose shingles or gutter guard they secure it even though it was not part of the original scope of work. That attention to detail is very professional. I've also recommended them to my in-laws and they were also happy with their work. Great people and workers! Not to mention that they're tech savvy... They send pictures of the before and after. I think that these days that construction companies/contractors should be able to communicate via email. I must just say I always go for family businesses because they take pride in what they do.. Three Brothers Roofing did a great job on our roof (fixed flat roof, covered the hole by the chimney, and fixed bulging shingles) and cleaned up after. They arrive at the agreed time and starts promptly. I cannot say much about the pricing because I did not look for other contractors after I spoke w/ Jose on the phone (at around 7:30pm one night after I discovered a leak on our bedroom ceiling) but I believe they have very reasonable price. Three Brothers Roofing did a great job on our slate roof. We had other roofers come out to give us estimates on a leak that was coming into our TV room. We have a couple of peaked roofs so it wasn't easy to see. Other roofers suggested ripping out the entire roof and re-installing new slate. One roofer wanted to caulk around existing slate. Only Jose at Three Brothers went up on the roof and determined that it was a breach near the gutters. He and his guys came out and found that the wood beneath was rotten from years of water damage. Jose surgically cut out the rotten wood, installed new slate, repaired the cutters and flashed around them. We've had heavy rains since and there is no leak. These guys provide the best service. They came to my house to assess the issue, and discovered a rotted roof. We were very fortunate to have Three Brothers fix the issue. This was the first time I hired Three Brothers Roofing to repair roof leak. I chose them because of the positive reviews they got. Their service and price justified all the great reviews. They came on time both for an estimation and for the job. For the estimation, they explained to us clearly what the problems were and what should be fixed. The major problem of our roof was some missing shingles. In addition our roof has some part that was damaged by animals and fixed temporarily before, which we told them they did not need to fix this time. They fixed that anyway at NO extra charge. Jose and his team did an outstanding roof repair job for our family home in Bergen County. We had extensive damage on the soffit and around the chimney and needed it fixed in a hurry. I found a review for Three Brothers, called Jose and he came out the next day to look at it and give us an estimate. After considering a few other companies we went with Three Brothers and they were able to do the job within a couple of days. He finished the job in one day, and it looks better than it did before the damage.
