One of my favourite places to go for coffee or a light lunch. Amazing sandwiches, soup, pastries and coffee! Their chai lattes are probably my favourite of any coffee shop in Vancouver. Be sure to arrive somewhat early if you want to try one of their desserts though, most are gone by the afternoon. Love the staff here, they're all really sweet. Food was great but the service was disappointing. Not being in town and familiar with how everything works, I was waiting for my coffee for a long time. I assumed since I took a number and they brought my food to the table, they would also bring my drink. By the time I figured it out that I'm supposed to go up to the counter, the coffee was cold. I wish they would have told me when I ordered up front. Isn't that what a tip is for? With an array of savoury and sweet pastries, cakes, quiche, sandwiches, and crepes - there's something for everyone. Quiet coffee shop in Kerrisdale area part of Faubourg chain in Vancouver. I find this location always looks a little sparse for its offerings in the window and display for pastries and cakes at any time of the day. There's are only two croissants and other baked items and 2-4 cakes on display. Doesn't scream a lot of availability for pastry and other items here. We tried the ham and cheese croissant, crepes with white chocolate and banana, espresso and teas. Croissant didn't really feel French bakery level. Filling very sparse one thin piece of ham. Crepe was nicely done but could've used some accompaniments and better presentation. Interior is a good size and attempts to resemble a salon at the back with Louis chairs and mirrors on wall. Can be expensive for what you get for sure, but very high quality food and drinks. I tried one of the savoury crepes (I want to say pear and prosciutto or something along that line) which came with a fruit salad. It was delicious. I also got an iced mocha which was also very good. Staff were all friendly, but at the front where you place your order was quite loud so even though I felt like I was shouting the person taking my order was struggling to hear me. Mixed berry charlotte cake, 6 inch - $44, 8.5/10: Layers of mousse, raspberry jelly, and chocolate cream wrapped around with homemade ladyfingers! It was very smooth and surprisingly light because mousse is usually more dense. The ladyfingers wasn't too dry bringing out a sponge-like texture too. Not the biggest fan of the jelly although it adds some extra flavour since the berry flavour was subtle. Beautifully presented and it's not too sweet. Whole cakes at Faubourg Bakery are only available for preorder online for pickup or delivery. It's easy & convenient! I came here today with my wife and two kids for a chocolate croissant and apple turnover/handheld pie. The apple pie was extremely bland and neither of my kids would eat them. My wife and I couldn't do it either. The chocolate croissant was nowhere near the standards that we had been used to at their downtown location. It seemed old and far from my expectations for that price. When I previously ordered them from the downtown location they were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. We've had much better at a grocery store at half the price. I'm not sure what they are doing here but we won't be back. read more

I've been to some bakeries in the past where they focused too much on the aesthetics and the cake itself didn't taste good. One line review: This was a pleasant surprise. I brought someone here for a 'business' discussion. I had the mango pineapple smoothie. It was good -- fresh, tasty -- if smallish. My friend had a tea latte and seemed to like it fine. We sat at a table on their cute little patio in back. I didn't even know they had that back there -- quite welcome in the Delta variant phase of the pandemic. COVID precautions were in flux; hand sanitizer was available, but masks were clearly optional inside the dining room. Yes, I know people have to remove their masks to drink and eat, but it was still a shock to see people unmasked, indoors. As we walked through the cafe to the back, I realized it went a lot further back there than I ever imagined. I thought (seriously): It's bigger on the inside -- like the TARDIS. Service was adequate, not memorable. Our beverages took a while to prepare. Parking is at meters on 41st or free in neighborhood, if you work at it. Bottom line: Worth a return visit. read more

I always like browsing Faubourg's pretty display of baked goods, sweet desserts, and of course their macarons in their sunny little cafe. However, their food always looks better than they taste; not to say it doesn't taste good, they just look so nice you'd think it would taste more impressive, but no, you get pretty average croissants, sandwiches, and desserts, including their macarons. This location also offers sit down service meals in their windowless back nook. They serve high tea there, sometimes lunch (but think they've stopped?), and dinner on some nights. Because they keep changing what the back space is for, I've found it confusing if certain services are running there anymore so best to call and enquire. Also, I've found their service extremely slow and sometimes they forget your order. Even with their slow service, I do miss Faubourg's choice of Pink and Purple High Tea sets. They used to be one of my favorite places for High Tea since sometimes different people in our group only want a smaller set and others want the big set but still want to experience high tea together. Now they've changed it to just one option and I haven't been back for high tea since as they are now like other places. read more

I was in serious need of a midday pick me up and as I was walking to my car I stumbled upon the bright orange exterior of Faubourg, so I walked in. I initially came in just for a coffee, but after seeing all the baked goods, I couldn't help but pick up a few things (for myself and my family). I'm not usually a sweets person, but I was intrigued by their beautiful mini desserts and macaron flavours. I ended up getting a mini creme brulee cheesecake, a chocolate croissant, and six macarons (two each of the Faubourg special, lavender earl grey, and raspberry rose). When I got home, I enjoyed my croissant which was flakey and delicious. My parents said that they enjoyed the creme brulee cheesecake. They did mention that the "creme brulee" top didn't seem as fresh because it wasn't hard as a regular creme brulee top would be. As for the macarons, the lavender earl grey was my favourite. I love that all three flavours had a nice floral aftertaste. On top of the sweet treats, I picked up an iced americano, which hit the spot perfectly. The lady working was so sweet and helpful and made sure that all my goodies were packed up nicely. If I wasn't in such a rush, I would've loved to sit down and enjoy my croissant and coffee. This is definitely a cute spot along Kerrisdale to grab a coffee and treat! I'm glad their bright neon exterior caught my eye! read more

Pretty spot! Pretty pastries. Came here for some much needed caffeine and I was tempted by their pretty desserts. Especially the blueberry tart and their lemon tart. I debated for a bit while we get their coffee. A latte and a cappucino. Our orders were mixed and took a while to fix. One of us got extra shot, extra hot, extra big order for here while the other one of us just wanted a small cappuccino for togo. My friend was in a hurry while I had time. Anyways, it took about a good 15 minutes to fix/ get our correct coffee orders. And we got one of each tarts to go. It was a ok. Lemon tart was good but the bottom was a bit hard for me. Blueberry tart was a bit dry! Also coffee was a ok since I think I somehow ended up getting a light cappucino. It was a bit busy when we came! I'll try again next time with different pastries. We stopped by to buy some pastries and macarons. I ordered one piece each of the pastries that was available, a pistachio macaron and a chocolate macaron. The macarons were eaten by my child so fast that I was not able to take a photo. It must have tasted good because they were gone before we made it home. I tried the lemon tart and the lemon berry cheesecake. My favourite was the lemon tart. The filling was smooth, creamy and refreshing with a buttery crust. The cheesecake was on the sweeter side but still a good cheesecake. Prices are reasonable compared to similar bakeries. Each pastry was $7.90 and macaron was $2.70. I found Faubourg to be cheaper and better quality than some of the recent bakeries I have stopped by. If only I lived closer to one of their locations, I would definitely stop by more often. As others noted it is pricey. Was disappointed that when I ordered the eggs Benny at barely 2:05 was told it was too late they only serve EB until 2, don't know why they could not have even tried at that point. I ordered veggie crepe, it was good however could have used more filling. Wanted fruit salad without it but they were out, so had to get green salad. My companion also could not get what they originally wanted either as they were also out of that. The lavender black tea latte was delicious. This used to be my favourite bakery but lately, I am not quite sure. I find the tarts and cakes to be a bit sweeter than it used to be. I witnessed a lady with a stroller waiting in line and the staff ignored her and helped the man standing behind her. This gentleman actually spoke up and told the staff to assist that lady first. Despite the face that the 6 inch was 42$, I ordered it because the same cake few years ago was very good. Now they dont put the raspberry on top and replace strawberries instead. They could at least sprinkle some sugar powder to make it look better. They no longer have that 'lady finger' on the exterior of the cake, just a thick layer of bread. Mom wanted to take me for coffee. We usually go to 49th, but we needed to venture out to kerrisdale. Got a café latte and almond croissant to share eat-in. Pros: - tons of seating. We sat in the back where it's def quieter and warmer. - self serve lemon water. I way appreciate this since some places you have to ask the baristas for water. I had my twin brother over for coffee today and he stopped by Faubourg on 41st Avenue to pick up 2 Operettos and 2 Dark Chocolate spheres for me and my sister in law. When we opened the box, we saw the dried up, shriveled edges of the operetttas, looking like they were dragged out of the fridge after a week or so in the back. The "fridge taste" on the operettas and the stale pastry cream and cake was spat out faster than it was put in my mouth. I thought it might be my eyes, but after tasting it I realized that this treat was made many, many days ago and was poorly covered in the refrigerator. The double chocolate spheres looked delicious and the mousse inside was fairly light and fresh, but the cake at the bottom of the spheres had that same stale, made a week ago and left in the fridge taste. He paid $38.00 for 4 stale items which were tossed in the garbage moments after I received them. I can't believe that a place like this that used to be run like an authentic French bakery has gone so far downhill, that they have no shame in selling old, stale pastries at a premium price to customers that work pretty hard for their money these days. As a baker and chef, I was looking forward to the highest possible quality of baked goods due to the price of their product, but have been incredibly disappointed and offended by what I received to day from this so called bakery. read more

I am giving Fauborg three stars due to the very nice front of house staff. They are friendly and welcoming. However, the pastries out of the case were all stale, which explains the half or quarter finished plates on the tables. They offer a wide variety of pastries and cakes - they do special order as well. Their French breads are very popular and made on day of sale! Try the Almond Twist or Traditional Baguette. Came here after Zumba class for some croissants based on other yelpers reviews. I like the ambience at the store, nice and bright, much more appealing than the Italian shop next door. I was a bit surprused by all Asian staff taking orders and making espresso. Well, I am in Vancouver afterall... We ordered pain au chocolate and the pistachio croissant. The chocolate was good but the croissant can be a bit flakier. The pistachio croissant had pistachio paste filled but was a bit too sweet for our taste. I'm liking what I'm seeing and tasting. I like the clean modern interior. Faubourg has been on my radar for over a year and a half. I've known about it pre-Yelp. Finally made it here to try some of the offerings. Almond crossant - very good. In fact, near excellent Macarons - also near excellent. Similar in quality to French Made Baking. Americano - this was a shocker. One of the best, if not the best, Americanos I've had. It was slightly citrusy without being bitter. The bean was an Italian espresso bean roasted with a French style. He showed it to me, but I need to look at it again. That was a damn good bean. Other things that surprised me: Bistro. There is a bistro menu that also serves brunch. I might give this a go one day. High tea. I would not have expected an English tradition to make it's way into a French bakery. In addition, there is a separate seating area for the high tea, inclusive with the fancy pastry tower and tea cups. Black and white movies. Refuse to make specialty hot coco when literally just called out Tiramisu hot chocolate for someone ahead of me

We went to the Davie Street location as part of the 2024 Hot Chocolate Festival. Extremely disappointing. Their special Tiramisu hot chocolate was made with a thin chocolate syrup, not advertised ganach. Staff were unsure how to make it. We asked for dine in mugs and plates and were given take out. Hot Chocolate was lukewarm and bland, and the muffin was stale. We will definitely not be returning and will be leary of their other locations. read more

Very pleasant service and delicious cakes. We had the creme brûlée cheesecake and the triple chocolate decadent which the staff recommended as the most popular desserts. The creme brûlée cheesecake had three plops? Of caramel flavoured whipped cream which really added to the taste. The triple chocolate decadent had white chocolate and milk chocolate mousse inside, surrounded by the dark chocolate glaze. They were both delicious! read more
