One of the best matcha cookies I've ever had! Perfectly chewy and the addition of the toasted almonds added smokey notes. Looking forward to revisiting for a coffee

    iced americano and cortado

First time trying this place and I thought the drinks were fantastic. I got an iced americano and my partner got the cortado, both were made very well! The staff are super friendly and chatty here which I enjoyed, and the desserts/baked goods in the casing looked amazing. I also saw they had matcha and espresso tonics on their menu which I will be trying on my next visit.

So far our best food/drink experience on our Vancouver trip! This place looks to be small up front but there is a whole seating area in the back. Very aesthetically pleasing, loved the lighting fixtures in the back. The genmaicha caught my eye as I had never heard of it and had to look it up. Sounded delicious, I got the genmaicha latte with oat milk and simple syrup, hot. It was so delicious. Perfect temp, flavor was delicious. My husband enjoyed his iced caramel latte. The butter croissant was massive and the yuzu lemon meringue croissant was so unique and delicious (and messy). Really cool coffee shop with unique options, glad we had the chance to try it! Baristas were nice and helpful as well!

One of the few cafes that offer drip flight (at reasonable price too!). Love the wide variety of coffee they serve and imo one of the best coffee places in town. Barista was super helpful and knows how to brew good coffee. This place does get filled up super fast by wfc people. Would recommend arriving earlier if you'd like to dine in. They do have a back patio that's open during warmer weather though. I also got an almond croissant ($7.5). I have slight mixed filling about this croissant. It's very flat and thus not as flaky as I'd like them to be, however I really enjoy how rich the almond filling was. Overall, really enjoyable experience and would go back to try their banana hazelnut croissant.

Double baked bourbon caramel pecan croissant and flat white. Really good.

I randomly stopped here to refuel after an intense workout at Pure Barre a few doors down. So glad I did as the flat white is really good here! I can usually tell if the drink is going to be good by the steamed milk being poured into the espresso. If the milk texture is watery, it's gonna be like a latte. If it's a bit firm or thick, you can usually still see the art work left on the mug after drinking it all. The crema is a bit too strong for me here but the texture and taste are still good. Another surprise was the croissant. I had the double baked bourbon caramel pecan croissant and it was amazing! It was lightly crispy and flakey. So you can hear the crunch when you bite into it. The filling was sweet but not sickly so. It's seriously good! It may look small with limited seating but there is lots more tables at the back. I love the washroom door which kinda blends into the wall furnishings. I'll definitely stop here for coffee and more pastries when I'm in this area.

Cocoa Honey Espresso This was so delicious and fragrant! You can really taste the honey blended with the espresso. I was surprised at how fragrant it was! Its almost subtle if you don't realize it but once you do its amazing. The drink itself is actually a frappe (meaning its an iced drink) but you can ask for it hot which is what I did! I almost wonder what it tastes like cold. I felt that once the drink cooled down, it felt a little too sweet for me at the end However I do recommend you try this drink if you love honey and coffee or have a sweet tooth. Ps the customer after me ordered the same thing too! I think this drink is unique, I've always heard about honey and coffee but never found the right place to try it. Overall, I think Lumine coffee has become my favourite go-to coffee shop!

Came on a Saturday afternoon. Not too busy in the back of plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There's a bathroom and free wifi. Line moved fast and drinks are made pretty quickly. The interior is super cute. There are outlets against the walls and on the big pole. Got a chocolate croissant and it was really crumbly and yummy. The iced matcha latte is also good. I would come back!

My favorite hidden gem of a cafe along w 4th. Easy to miss because it's tucked away, but definitely worth stopping at! Their pastries are delicious but my favorite is their iced matcha latte. Super affordable and delicious! I'm here at least once a week and am always satisfied.

Clean place and nice customer service. Green tea are average. We did order Togo. Server are very knowledgeable.

Oh my god YUM!!!!! It's been a joke for a little while to find the best almond croissant in Vancouver. This is because our friend swears San Francisco has the best almond croissants in the world. Well... I think we have found the best almond croissant in Vancouver. It wasn't as buttery as the San Francisco croissant, but the almond paste inside hits the spot in every way, and the flakiness of the croissant is fabulous. My husband and I got a latte and a mocha this morning and he really enjoyed his latte and I enjoyed my mocha. There was only one person working, but he was very attentive despite the growing line. Our drinks were made perfectly. We didn't check out the backside of this coffee shop, but I've heard there is an amazing amount of seating, and seems like a really great place to relax, read a book or work. I'm sure you can also enjoy a coffee and chat with a friend as well. We will definitely be back as we saw some really amazing Flavoured croissants that we've never even thought of.

What I ordered: - oat latte - drip coffee - crinkle cookie - butter croissant highlights: I was very pleasantly surprised with their oat latte. It's very light, slightly acrid, and highly recommend because it didn't leave me feeling heavy in my stomach unlike some oat lattes do. I loved the croissant. It was crispy on the outside (but not crunchy), soft on the inside, with a lovely butter flavour. (Pro tip) dip your butter croissant in the last 1/4 of your latte iykyk study/work space: 4.5/5 They have seating space in the back which was bright and clean. The atmosphere is relatively quiet and super pleasant. Truth be told, I completely forgot that I was on such a busy street! Sun-Dried Tomato Caprese Focaccia Sandwich, Chou au Craquelin, Iced Genmaicha Latte
    Dana S.

This is a small but evidently popular coffee shop that also makes their own baked goods! I was there on a Sunday around noon which is probably the peak time and it was super busy, but I did manage to grab a table. There was a long line but it moved at a reasonable pace and the two baristas were friendly and seemed like they were still being careful with each drink. I didn't try the coffee myself, but I got the impression that they really know their coffee here. They have a wide selection of coffee/tea drinks (I was excited because they had not only matcha lattes, but also hojicha and genmaicha) and baked goods, and a few sandwiches, one meat and one vegetarian. A few of the baked goods are vegan but nothing vegan and savoury. I got the sun-dried tomato caprese focaccia sandwich, a chou au craquelin, and an iced genmaicha latte. The sandwich was good with fresh focaccia and lots of mozzarella. I really liked the addition of the sun-dried tomatoes which added a pop of flavour. It was a little too oily for me, though. I loved the chou au craquelin! The texture of the crunchy pastry with the smooth cream inside was a delight, and the pastry cream had such a nice flavour with real vanilla bean. The genmaicha was great too. There's a nice atmosphere both in the cafe and outside on the patio, making it a great spot for a relaxed light meal or snack.

I was in the neighbourhood, so I could get a chance to try the coffee at Lumine Coffee. It's always on my to-try list. The signage on W4th is nice and clean. The front of the coffee shop only has a few seats. There are some outdoor seatings outside the coffee shop. Basically, once guests step into the coffee shop, it is the counter or cashier. Once guests have placed an order, they have to walk aside and wait for the beverages and/or food. The most awesome part is the majority of the seats are behind the coffee shop. I love their interior design. Each wall, lights, furniture selection, colours, tone, and etc give the coffee shop a very nice, warm and cozy look and feel. When it's summer time, guests can open the patio doors, enjoy the outdoor space inside the coffee shop. It is facing a courtyard of the complex. If you are not sure what I am talking about, go check it out. It's quite cool. The coffee beverage pricing is affordable. I personally feel the pastries are a bit overpriced but that's okay as long as the coffee beverages are excellent. The coffee shop is on busy W4th. It's better for guests to walk to it instead of driving and parking there.

Dough was very buttery and crispy. I could taste strong butter flavor which stood out. Passionfruit jam dominated over hazelnut cream. It lean on sweeter side. I prefer more hazelnut cream. However, the croissant itself was one of the best. Very delicious. Holiday Chocolate Kugelhopf~ dark chocolate sweet bread studded with chocolate chips, citrus peels, and almond praline, rolled in sugar. I really liked kugelhoph's dough and almond praline! It wasn't too heavy, lighter texture and praline wasn't too sweet. So, sugar coating paired with dough very well. I would like to get this one again! Overall, I really enjoyed both Christmas items. Their baking goods was always top notch.

I came with my friend on a weekday and managed to snag the last cardamom buns. They don't serve matcha anymore and I'm not a big coffee drinker so I ordered the ginger honey yuzu soda instead. My friend got a cookie and an iced mocha. The staff were super nice so no complaints there! As for ambiance, they had a few seats outside and what looked like a huge space under the stairs for seating but they had blocked that area off as they're turning it into a retail section - seems a bit strange for me as when the summer is over people won't want to sit outside anymore so it will have to be a to-go model. The cookie was good, but I was really disappointed in the cardamom bun. It was $7 and barely had any flavour - it seems like it's made with whole wheat flour and didn't have enough cardamom or sugar in my opinion so I only ended up eating half. The yuzu drink also wasn't good. The ginger pieces got stuck in my straw immediately and the whole drink just tasted like ginger and soda water, there was no other flavour or sweetness in it. My friend also didn't really enjoy her drink. Overall this spot was a big disappointment given how many amazing cafes we have

I am a HUGE 49th fan and love their dougnuts and coffee. Whenever I have friends in town, or someone needs a suggestion on where to visit, I always say "49th has really good coffee and doughnuts". Unfortunately, my mind has changed, and I don't see myself ever recommending this location. As an avid coffee drinker, I am pretty picky on where I choose to have coffee and love the cafe culture in Vancouver. My mom loves doughnuts and we had come all the way from Langley for a day in Kits, so I recommended we go to 49th! I spent about $40 on 4 doughnuts, 2 maple sea salt lattes and a drip coffee. The maple sea salt lattes looked beautiful and my doughnut was delicious as usual (big fan of the french crueller). Unfortunately, our maple sea salt lattes were very very strong and had no maple or sea salt flavoring in my opinion. I decided to ask the girl at the register if we could please get a different drink because it was super strong and didn't taste good. I was met with SO much attitude, i was actually shocked. I went into it very friendly and politely asked for an alternate drink as i did spend $12 on these two drinks (and life gets expensive!!). She then goes "well, you probably don't like the taste of coffee then".... I actually didn't know how to respond. But i did say "I'm a huge 49th fan and love coffee!". Then I had asked how many shots are in the small and she said "2". I then had asked if we could get a new/different drink and she goes "I'll give it to you this one time, but next time you'll have to pay." This is NOT the way to treat a paying customer. It felt so rude and accusatory. I very rarely come to Kits, so she wouldn't have recognized me and am an honest girl who works hard for my money. When the customer comes up politely, you offer to make it right. I hope the next person that comes up not satisfied with their drink is treated a lot better than how I was.

They are crusty on the outside, soft yet chewy inside, and just consistently perfect. This one was as good as all the others we've had from here. Yeah! I wanted an Earl Grey tea which IMO is a pretty basic order. Surprisingly, they did not have it. I got a green tea instead (their tea selection was very limited). And the girl who took my order, as well as the girl who rang me up at the cash, could NOT have been more aloof. I smiled and tried to make a little small talk, especially with the girl at the cash when I took out my debit card and asked how to pay (she just pointed at the tap symbol on the machine but my card is not tap-enabled. I always joke with people about this). This girl would not even look at me. Zero eye contact. No "thank you", nada. I just got really cold vibes from the two of them there at the counter. (At least when I picked up my tea at the beverage counter, the guy there made eye contact and semi smiled). (Side note: the staff at the Yaletown site have always been super pleasant and friendly, and this really makes a difference. To me, anyhow). Contrary to another reviewer's posting, the restaurant and the washroom was very clean when I visited here. No issues there. Honestly, I'm not sure I'll return to this site. The combination of flavors, the runny egg yolks, the gooeyness of the cheese...it was just such a wonderfully comforting and belly warming meal. I saw a Cinnamon Honey Latte on the board and decided to order that for my drink. These days, I can never tell when the word "Latte" is being used to describe a coffee beverage or whether it's being used to describe a beverage that has milk in it. A Matcha latte for example, tends to just be a sweetedned Matcha beverage with milk in it. No coffee thrown in. I was kinda hoping this Cinnamon Honey Latte would be milk with cinnamon and honey thrown in. It turned out to be a coffee beverage. No complaints about it. It's on me for assuming that it was milk with cinnamon and honey thrown in. I should have probably asked our server about the beverage before simply ordering it. Will make sure to do that if/when we end up here again. Kinda had my eye on the Turkish Apple Tea though so might just order that next time and the whole "Latte" dilemma wouldn't be an issue with that. My daughter's Avocado Toast looked super yummy as well. Might try ordering that next time, although Michelangelo's Mediterranean Spread was also kinda calling out to me!
