Fauna exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food was absolutely amazing--every dish was beautifully prepared and delicious. What truly completed the evening was our server, Adam. He was knowledgeable, attentive, considerate, and spot-on with every recommendation and every question we had. His friendly personality and great sense of humor made us feel right at home. It's amazing how one person can elevate an already outstanding dining experience. Adam did exactly that for us. What a terrible experience. We had eaten at Flora a few days earlier and had the most delicious food and excellent service. Well, we met the complete opposite arriving at Fauna. We only saw the waitress one time. After waiting 15 minutes, she arrived to take our order and we NEVER saw her again. The potato purée with truffle cream and leeks, which we requested to arrive first hadn't arrived after what seemed like 15 to 20 minutes so we got up from the table and apparently they made a mistake and it should've been brought to the table and when it did, it was cold or barely warm. We tried to find someone to get us to help us, but after five minutes gave up and decided to eat it. You couldn't taste any truffle and we ate it just because we were hungry, but it was extremely disappointing. There were hardly any leaks on it and they were overcooked. Next, there was confusion over our entrée which we were splitting and we wanted to come out and we again had to try to track someone down to explain to please send out the entrée. When it arrived, the fish had been pounded down thin and was covered in breading and so much oil that it was completely disgusting and inedible. Instead of a beautiful piece of juicy flounder, we got a dry, oily thin piece, which was mostly breading and really disgusting. It had no flavor. Green beans which they put a fancy name on to make it sound special while they were overcooked and tasteless and the sweet potatoes were watered down. The rum banana was overcooked and would have been better suited as a dessert. We then had to get up from the table again because we never found our waitress so we had to go to the hostess so we can retrieve our bill and left a very undeserving 15% tip. We managed to find someone else to bring us some containers to take on the food that we hadn't eaten and in the end, I don't know why we bothered because it went in the garbage. If you want terrible service and terrible food, then head on over to Fauna . If you want good service and good food walk a few feet and there you have Flora. Flora is a small intimate restaurant that is decorated beautifully had amazing service and cooks their food perfectly. They treat each customer as if they are their most special customer. We felt welcomed there and we felt like they went above and beyond to make us happy. It was such a different experience going to that. We are shocked the same owners owned both restaurants. Maybe they should try switching managers so Fauna can learn how to run things more like Flora. I have a feeling that Fauna makes most of their money on alcohol because you certainly don't wanna go there for the food or ambience. It's noisy and obnoxious. If you want a peaceful restaurant, that's beautiful and knows what their theme is then go on over to Flora. Fauna has lamps with deer, antlers and wood that is dark and uninviting and strange wallpaper with different animals on it in the bathroom and terrible smelling soap. Their menu is confusing as with their music, which was a mix of salsa and a type of music you would expect in a Mexican restaurant. You really missed the mark Fauna. read more

Fauna is hands down one of my favorite restaurants on Long Island. It's one of those places I find myself coming back to over and over, especially for brunch. If you go, do yourself a favor and order the French press coffee. It's so good and the perfect way to start your meal. I've tried a lot on the menu, and there are a few dishes I always recommend: the chicken and waffles, lamb chops, almond-crusted flounder, bison carpaccio, and the Chrispé Chicken Baguette. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and effortlessly charming, and the service is always welcoming. FIVE STARS+++++ Had dinner there last nite with best friends. Sat at the last high top table in the back by the bar. Our server, Anthony LeStrange was by far the most congenital and kindest ever. His deep baritone voice set the stage for what was an extraordinary dining experience. The meal with without peer, from the popovers to the chopped wedge with an incredible dressing and crispy onions to the chicken for two, which was off the charts and the burger with jam was AMAZING. The coup de gras was the dessert. The chocolate cake with pecans was dense delicious and absolutely a show stopper. Actually, seated where we were was dinner and a show show. The popovers are to die for! Just perfect and I would come back here just for those. The food wasn't too bad either, but it was overshadowed by the unbelievably poor service. We arrived on time for our reservation, and waited patiently in line behind two others who were trying to be seated without a reservation. They were seated immediately outside. And then we asked about our outside reservation and were told that we had to wait for a table that was just finishing up. My husband pointed out the obvious problem, but not a word was spoken in response. She simply walked away. We waited 15 minutes to be seated outside without any apology or acknowledgement of what just happened. Our server seemed nice enough; we ordered cocktails. I saw the cocktails sitting on the bar for more than 10 minutes, ice melting, while our server flitted in and out of the restaurant multiple times without looking at us or at the bar where our cocktails sat. I went to the bar and asked the bartender if these were the cocktails for our table, and he said that if they were he would bring them to our table. The drinks were brought to us about two minutes later. They were so watery, having ice melting in them outdoors while we waited for our server to bring them. They were undrinkable, but nobody came to ask us about it, so the problem could not be remedied. We had ordered a bottle of wine while we waited for our cocktails, so at least we had that to drink instead. The food was okay, although it was hard to appreciate in light of all the service mishaps. At the end of the meal, with our bottle of wine finished, the server asked my husband if he was done with his cocktail. He said yes, it was too watery. She left the one I had barely touched on the table, but comped my husband for his. Why? This place needs a serious training overhaul. It's been a long time since I have seen such incompetent, insensitive, and unprofessional service. Two stars because the popovers were awesome. read more

I've been to Flora several times, but I recently tried their sister restaurant, Fauna. It's a quiet location, set off Main St., with a parking lot conveniently across the street. Very cool fire pit and Adirondack chairs to relax with a drink on the front lawn. Interior was spacious and trendy with both inside and outdoor seating. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable and food was delicious. There were so many things I wanted to try, but ultimately went with steak and eggs which was very good. We went to Fauna for our anniversary and honestly couldn't have picked a better spot. We walked in right after a snowstorm and were surprised by how lively it was. It never felt rushed or empty, just a great energy. The ambience was warm and intimiate, perfect for a special night out. The lobster carbonara was incredible, but I still can't get over the crispy pork belly, easily the highlight of the meal. We did the restaurant week menu and it was absolutely worth it, both in value and quality. Everything from the food to the overall experience felt thoughtful and well done. Soft, warm, delicious buttery goodness! 10/10 Lobster bisque rich and creamy, I loved mine, my wife found hers to be a little too salty. 8/10 Almond crusted flounder, decent portion flavors blended nicely with the salad, tomatoes, and capers. 7/10 Green goddess Orecchiette very flavorful. Walking into what looks like a nice residential home, you enter a space with an interesting theme. As the name suggests, the wallpaper, paintings, and even sconces were full of animals, from the main dining room to the bathroom. Starting off with some lovely Herbed Popovers and flavorful Parlato Kale, it was a nice way to start. Unfortunately, entrees were more of a mixed bag. The best of the items was probably the French Dip, which was cooked medium rare, came with some arugula and herbed mayo, served with a side of delicious au jus and horseradish. Another good entree was the Classic Fish & Chips, which was somewhat crispy and very tender, but the price seemed ridiculous even for the Hamptons area. There were two pieces of fried cod and a handful of fries for $29. Ouch! I would say a total of about 4 ounces of cod at best. Even for this area, I felt that was unacceptable. Both burgers were fine, but nothing too special. Definitely skip the Chrisphé Chicken Sandwich because it was very dry. Overall, the food was solid. From my understanding, this is the same team behind Cow Fish, Rumba, and Flora. Clearly, they have a formula that works. Albeit pricey, their beautiful restaurants that serves decent food and good service keeps bringing in happy customers. read more

Anyone who says the food in the Hamptons is just alright clearly hasn't been to Fauna. I had one of the best meals and best martinis of my life here this winter. Located off of main street in Westhampton, Fauna operates out of a cozy cottage-esque building that's warm and inviting in winter (and I'd imagine just as charming during summertime). We made a reservation for 8:45 on a weekday, but saw how much fun everyone was having at the bar and decided to post up and eat there. Our bartender was attentive and accommodating, promptly supplying us with the food and drink menu. I kicked things off with the hot and dirty martini which lived up to its name. Equal parts salty and spicy, it combines the best flavors of a bloody mary while packing the punch of a dirty martini. For appetizers we split the bison carpaccio, the best carpaccio I've ever had in my life. The espresso chili salt and fresh lemon balanced this dish out perfectly, plus it was served with crispy crackers for added texture. The mussels we split featured chorizo which I typically don't like, but the spices in this one were just right. We also had the herbed popover, which was fluffy and delicious. We split the steakhouse caesar as well which was another home run - the horseradish forward caesar dressing was on point, and the hearty anchovies the salad came topped with were excellent. We also split the French dip which was packed with prime rib (can you tell we were hungry?), probably the best French dip I have ever had or will ever have again. The place was filled with happily chattering gourmands, and the bar was packed. We had a reservation, so waited just a few minutes to be seated. Service was flawless. Water glasses were discreetly refilled, plates whisked away. The food was superb. My brother's steak was perfectly cooked. My Caesar salad was delicious, and the grilled chicken was juicy. Both the Brussels sprouts and the mushrooms were flavorful and yummy. This was a splendid dining experience. I also had a delicious cocktail, but apparently neglected to photograph it. We had the best time here this past Sunday. My 10 year old grandaughter uses the one phrase "slay" when she really likes something. This place is amazing and just makes me want to say: "Slay." The food was exceptional, got the Steakhouse Caesar with salmon on it and that salmon was perhaps the best I've ever tasted. Perfectly cooked and melted like butter when you ate it, so good. My wife got the Fall Harvest Salad With Grilled Chicken and we both split the Wild Mushroom Radiatori - all delicious. The place had a cool animal-inspired rustic ambiance, with notably quirky wallpaper in the bathrooms which was cool - check it out and you'll see what I mean. Only thing that could be better was the service was lacking when we went. Only one server managing most of the entire dining room, and in their defense there clearly should be more people on for a weekend afternoon, but they were still often absent and not very engaged. I know I sound petty and needy - but oh well I am - and you should expect attentive service at a place like this in the Hamptons for the prices you pay per plate. Based on the strong reviews we decided to try Fauna. The good: loved the decor The bad: order came out incorrectly, poor service and meats (chicken and filet mignon) were overly salty. Couldn't get the attention of any employee until we were nearly finished as they appeared too busy socializing with each other with their backs to the restaurant. Once we got the attention of an employee (not our waitress who seemed to be the only waitress in the entire restaurant/bar), we explained that the wedge salad was ordered without blue cheese crumbles and dressing. The waitress had confirmed both items were to be removed during the order so we're not sure where the break down happened (waitress order issue or chef error). When the employee (not our waitress) came back with a new wedge salad it was half an iceberg slapped on the plate with everything else in tiny metal cups. She seemed rather annoyed. It was definitely ordered correctly so the issue was on the restaurant but she made us feel like we were the problem. Also this all happened so late into our meal that we were ready to go and so the wedge was barely touched. Plus who wants to eat a $21 wedge you have to construct yourself with half an iceberg head and minuscule toppings. Our waitress was apologetic and we'd expected they'd provide some sort of credit or offer a dessert for the error and delay. Nope. Nothing except a scratch off card to use at a later time. We're from out of state and even if we were local, not sure we'd come back. They should've discounted the salad given it was their error. Hopefully they do some basic training like checking in on guests not long after their meal arrives to confirming everything is good. This place wasn't even busy when we were here and it took a long time to flag someone down about the issue. They also should do some training on service issues and how to resolve on the spot for client recovery. read more

I have visited this place numerous times, and it has never failed to impress me. The atmosphere is always lovely, and I particularly enjoy spending time at the bar. Without fail, I find myself indulging in the delicious bread every time I visit. The service is consistently exceptional. I have had the pleasure of dining here during Long Island restaurant week, and I have always been impressed by the high-quality menu offered at great prices. One of my favorite items on the menu is the sangria, and the addition of hibiscus flowers makes it even more delightful. Dominick provided us with excellent service, and her recommendations were spot-on. The hibiscus flower in the sangria was a delightful touch. For appetizers, we tried the lobster bisque and shrimp, and for the main course, we savored the steak and duck pasta - both dishes were absolutely delicious. We concluded the meal with the chocolate mousse and cheesecake, both of which were outstanding. We are definitely looking forward to returning :). What a great night last night celebrating our anniversary. We like to eat at the bar so we sat down and were introduced to the bartender Scott. What a great bartender he was I had their hot and dirty martini, and my husband had a Tito's and tonic Both drinks were amazing. We continued on to order an appetizer which was pork belly. Also amazing with the most delicious brussels sprout salad on the side and then for dinner we both ordered the petite filet mignon I added crumbled blue cheese my selected side was cream, sweet potatoes absolutely delicious. My husband also ordered the petite filet mignon he went for mashed potatoes. The whole night was just wonderful the food the service and Scott the bartender was a highlight. Our experience at Fauna was mixed. Things started off on the wrong foot--the popovers we ordered arrived cold and before our drinks, including water. For appetizers, we tried the lobster bisque, which was fine, and a Caesar salad, which was fairly uneventful. The entrées, however, were the highlight of the evening. Both the almond-crusted flounder and the halibut were excellent and are dishes I would definitely recommend. Dessert (beignets with ice cream) was fine, but not especially memorable. Service was underwhelming, especially considering the high price point. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, so it was disappointing that the service felt inattentive. Another small but frustrating detail--guests are expected to box their own leftovers. For an establishment of this level, that seemed out of place. Overall, while the entrées were outstanding, the rest of the experience--from service to value--fell short of expectations. read more

We had a great evening at Fauna. It's really a scene, quite crowded with an active bar. The clientele ran the gamut from slinky ingenues to dudes in polo shirts, shorts and flip flops. We were happy to be seated outdoors- it was a beautiful and the indoor space was quite noisy. Sierra, our waitress, remembered us from a recent visit to their sister restaurant, Flora. She was lovely and gave us good advice. I started off with an expertly made Monkey 47 martini. The other cocktails were really good. My wife and I split an order of crab cakes as an appetizer. They were among the best that we have ever eaten. The popovers were awesome and the wedge salad was great. Main courses were excellent, too. I had great grilled tuna that was accompanied by smoky, umami rich fried rice and chimichuurri sauce that complemented the fish. The lobster carbonara and flounder received rave reviews. We were too full for dessert. Great atmosphere, service and food- an excellent antidote to the overpriced, yet mediocre food that inflicts the Hamptons. read more

They think they're a Manhattan restaurant & their drinks are Manhattan prices. & additionally charge you for olives in your martinis. How rediculous is that. A $22 martini & then an extra charge for olives. Also a big rush to get your table cleared as you're still working on your meal. read more
